Brought over from the key players thread:

It has been discussed that these are potentially the same person, though I'm not sure if it's been confirmed. Either way, a name has not been reported for this person(s).

Is Witness 1 and 2 the same person? I didn't think so. Can someone confirm?

So they left the Baum house with a broken bike, pushing eachother on it, and got tired of doing it less than 2/10th's of a mile away (which according to google maps would take approx. 2 minutes to walk to), so they left it at the gas station and continued on down Maple on foot. They then encountered someone along Maple who overheard them arguing and sent JB home.

that is correct

Good question. Did JB turn and go home immediately after this person sent him on his way, or did he stay and talk for a bit while the girls continued on?

Can anyone tell me where witness #1 (person who sent JB home) is located? And where witness #2 (person who saw LB on her walk home alone) is located? I am curious to know which witness is located further East on Maple?

Did witness 2 say they saw LB between 5th and 6th on Maple when she was walking home?

JB was home within a few minutes of being told to go home and remained there.

I don't remember the exact locations but I believe they were within a few blocks of one another.

I don't know if it was witness one or two who saw her between 5th and 6th but reports say that was the last known location.

snipped from:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=7966924&page=1

Baum said she last saw her daughter when Lindsey, along with her 12-year-old brother, Josh, headed out to Lindsey's friend's house in hopes she could get permission to spend the night at the Baum's house.

Baum said her children began squabbling over the use of Josh's bike on the way there and were stopped by a family friend who sent Josh home to end the argument. Lindsey continued on to her friend's house. When Lindsey's friend found out she couldn't stay the night, Lindsey headed for home around 9:30 p.m.

Scott said witnesses were able to put Lindsey within a couple of blocks of her house just after 9:30 p.m. The last person reported to have seen her, he said, was a neighbor on her way to work.

Witness 1 = family friend (sent JB home)
Witness 2 = Neighbor on "her" way to work (Was the neighbor just leaving her house to go to work, or was she in route to work"? What is the location of her work?

Note the time discrepancies in the article - it states she left the Kampen's around 9:30 and also she was last seen a "couple of blocks from her house" at 9:30.

We really need to know where exactly she was last seen. Was it a couple of blocks from her house or was it bwtween 5th & 6th on Maple?

Gotta love the media.. they don't care about getting details correct, they just care about getting the story out there first.

I don't know if the LE have released the official reports of the witnesses so I don't know exact times and places. Sorry I can't help you there, Jules.

How would we be able to find out if LE has release the official reports of the witnesses? Is this information the public can view?

I'm not sure if witness reports are public or not. That is something you'd have to ask GHC.

I wouldn't think they would be in a ongoing investigation but I could be wrong.

This case has alot of us working on different aspects of who is responsible for the crime of hurting Lindsey. I found a recent report from the missing and exploited childrens website that can help in understanding and narrowing down the VSO by his/her profile behaviors. This is a long clinical read titled, "Child Molesters Who Abbduct" Summary of the case in point series with the help of "School of Nursing University of Pennsylvania" The article is the most recent I could find. Go to the bathroom, grab a beverage, take a read & think who may follow some of these characteristics associated with these forms of crimes against children. :read:

http://www.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/ProxySearchServlet?Keys Once there look at the upper small box & type into the box NC65pdf. You will see other informative subjects as well to read when you are finished with the subject, "Child molesters who abduct" series. Hope all share there feelings about the possible perp. I'm not sure if the link works so let me know and I'll do the best I can to put it on here. It is in a pdf. If this can't get you there just google! LOL!

Karen, the link defaulted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's start page, and I didn't see where to put in "NC65.pdf", but I did find your paper by clicking "Sexual Exploitation" in the left margin, then scrolling down to it, 2nd in the list of "Featured Publications".

Ya'll probably would've figured that out without me, huh?
Sorry.

I'll go read it (since I must) but before I do, here's a fun factiod about pdf files: they have a "read it to me out loud" button!!! I had to save a copy before I got the right toolbar, but if you have a menu choice of "view", select it, then scroll to "Read Out Loud". Turn your speakers down some first...he's kinda scary. You can adjust his pitch and speed, through "help" (IIRC).

How cool is that?

Thank you, I'm always asking for alittle help from my friends and someone makes my links understandable! LOL! I'm just thankful you found a way to access the doc. Thanks for the tip as I'm a looney toon on the internet. Can't wait to discuss your feelings after studying the report. Sometimes I think people don't understand what an open book they can be to the behavior specialist. Maybe this is where the perp/perps screwd up! If you can make this excessible for others that would be great. One of the specialities of belonging to w/s is the give and take between members.

Is it ok to sleuth the witnesses who saw Lindsey walking to or from the Kampen's? Could we have a thread just for info we know about them and/or their connection to this case? What about sleuthing the residents who live along Lindsey's walk and/or any people connected to those people? We could use initials instead of names, and approx location of homes rather than actual addresses. Is this ok to do? And if so, does anyone think it would be beneficial to have a separate thread for this?

where is everyone???

i miss our hard working thread.....lots of good brain storming.....it feels odd.....i dont want lindsey to fade :(

something is not right....two days go by....with no new posts.....:(

why does it feel cold in here?

what happend?

*sigh*

Hi TakeNote, I don't feel a coldness. Only a patient waiting for news about Lindsey.

I wonder where she is tonight. I have read so much about what could have happened to her, who they are who were around her in her life, at that time.

And so much about how she thought about things. What meant allot to her and what she was in her spritely and energized being. Always doing, always going. A beautiful person always on the move with her life.

I want to learn what happened to her that night. Was she helpless above all? Or did she somehow survive the obstacles that faced her and is alive somewhere tonight, waiting for someone to come to her aid and release her from the bonds that hold her.

I don't know. What I know is I do care for her as a person very much. She has touched my life and I will always be thinking about her and trying to turn over the next rock to do what I can to help find her.

We all feel the same way. It is just 'in us'. And she is now a part of what we are.

Most of all I am angry tonight. Someone knows exactly where she is as we speak. They have no compunction. No sense of dignity. Let it be the reason we join together here. Lindsey is our point of focus. We will do everything in our power to help find her and bring her back home.

A beautiful post, scandi. Thank you.

Thanks for that beautiful post, Scandi.

The map makes it look like it would have been quicker to take the bike back to the house at that point.

I kind of thought the same thing. 2 minutes down the road would be pretty quick to get tired of pushing the bike around - could have brought it back home just as quickly, but then they are kids and maybe just didn't want to deal with it so they dumped it.

Yeah, especially since they'd apparently been doing it all day.

The Shell station isn't on the direct route either. Maybe they were glad of the excuse to dally, and to be downtown? Something going on that they wanted to see?

IIRC, the gas station where they left the bike is right along the route. See where I highlighted yellow in this pic.

:clap: You have spoken once again with wisdom to express how we all feel. are :praying: for us to keep :sleuth:.

One aspect of the case I am noticing is more locals may feel similar to us in frustration and also feel for some reason they should be quiet about their concerns and theories. I'm senseing a divide in town still remains and hopefully those citizens will be able to share with the added FBI agents. Two reasons that have brought me to this statement. First local/locals expressing to me that many have different theories that aren't mainstream with other citizens in town. The second reason is hardley any locals were in attendance. The evenning was beautiful for the vigil, the pictures were heart warming. Such reverence was displayed by all who attended. This past weekend seem to verify that many citizens of McCleary aren't in solidarity with their thoughts and feelings concerning Lindsey. What was most concerning was an account that the Govenor didn't speak to Lindsey's mother. Was this a blatant action by our Govenor? The pictures shared with the children appeared poignant and seemed to show MK sweet spirit. Pictures of JB tore me up for some reason. The picture of him watcing the video sent me over the top in sadness. If I could title that photo I would name it, "Innoconce Lost" The night someone hurt his sister they hurt JB's spirit as well.

Lets do what were driven to do! Keep Seeking for the truth!:highfive::grouphug: Back to :sleuth::Banane37: "We're Not  We Just Know To Much" :too much info::frown:

The Shell station is in fact, on the direct route from Lindseys to the Kampen residence.

And the whole argument about the bike was because Lindsey wanted Josh to take it and Josh wanted Lindsey to take it.. neither one would do it so they dropped it where they were. Really not that uncommon for kids. They probably figured eventually one of them would get it from the Shell.
I don't think kids at that age think to themselves "maybe I shouldn't leave it here because it could get stolen". Ya know?
