Has anyone looked into ferries into Canada? I'm guessing a passport is still required?

Yah we all love our LE but they do enjoy the donut shops even up here in Canada. lol

I would've hoped they did tire trackings before now. :waitasec:

Maybe they took the car to Seattle and those are the chalk markings from the parking police because every 30 minutes they had to drive it around the block and re-park or they let the car roll in neutral a few inches until the chalk mark wasn't on the bottom.

I should go to sleep.

This missing child seems to be the pet project of Nancy Grace right now.

It is a pretty clear case of the mother making her son disappear. Media attention on the case will dilute it and leave open the possibility that someone else came along and took her 3 year old son out of her car - which she left on the side of the highway, took her daugher in hand, and then her son disappeared? Why did she leave her son behind ... he was perfectly capable of walking. Impossible ... just like the Casey Anthony case - obvious from the beginning. Paying too much attention to a case that is obvious from the beginning sometimes results in a not guilty verdict - bizarre but true.

There's a custody battle in this case so I don't see it like Casey Anthony's case at all.

There is still that slight possibility that Sky is alive and being hidden.

I note that M looks so very, very much like her uncle. I actually thought the uncle was an older child of Julia and Solomon when this case first broke because he looks nothing like Julia to me but so much like M.

I'm not implying there's a question of paternity but it's always been interesting to me that M doesn't seem to have inherited anything from SM's side of the family (unlike Sky).

I can't believe we're coming up on two weeks since Sky was reported missing and he's still not home. :(

I found some details of JB and SM's former condo. It's interesting that they were living there for a period of time with both kids as it's only a 1 bed/1 bath (albeit nearly 1,000 sq ft). Although I guess if you're all sleeping on the floor and not allowed to use the bathroom, it doesn't matter how many beds and baths there are.

It was foreclosed in March 2010.

Some photos of the interior (not sure if that was their furniture):

The photo is of M, not Sky - girly bed with pink blankets, she's wearing pink print pjs. You can see her bangs, Sky's hair isn't that long.

ahh... good to know. My kids never had cots like that, I didn't know a child M's age could still fit in them. Thanks for pointing that out :)

I was going to post the same thing. The young blond lady in the photos of the kitchen is SJ's daughter. My guess would be that she babysat Sky for JB, SJ, JB's mom and M to go to the concert that night.

I too thought the young blonde lady looked more like SJ and nothing like JB. It is possible she babysat Sky.

Rougelatete,

Good summary. I don't believe Sky was kidnapped anymore than I believe Lisa was kidnapped, or Caylee was kidnapped, or that Aliayah walked out her front door into the arms of baby snatchers.

When will LE crack these mommies! As we know, LE was never able to crack CFCMA.

MOO

Mel

Good one, Mel! To add to my former summary of similarities in recent baby "kidnappings," here's Aliayah's. Once again, notice any trends in her story that match up with Sky, Lisa, Caylee, and Tyler?

Mother is Caucasian, 29 years old, married. Mother was last person to see Aliayah alive, finding her missing from her crib (like Lisa and Tyler). Like Sky, Aliayah was reportedly sick before she disappeared. Her scent was tracked to the edge of a river (other missing children also live very close to bodies of water). Mother went out to search Aliayah but her car ran out of gas (Sky, anyone?). Parents engaged in substance use and sold drugs (bath salts, that's pretty serious!) -- again, more substance abuse in the case of a missing child.

Two had substance abuse problems and two had mental health issues. ??
***I know it was stated CA didn't have mental issues.....but, imo, she definitely DID.

Totally agreed re: CA. I know it's not possible to accurately diagnose someone you've never met, but she has a lot of the criteria for personality disorder. Just sayin'....

See my Aliayah summary as it also involves heavy substance abuse.

We are a LE friendly forum. You can of course disagree with what they are doing and even criticize but do it in a respectful way. Thanks!

Maybe they were taking soil samples to compare to local places in the hopes of finding Sky in one of those places.

Lisa was sick when she went missing as well...

You don't have to have a passport to go into Canada if you live in Washington as long as you have a newer enhanced drivers license. . . . not sure the name of those dl's but they can be used instead of a passport to enter into Canada.

I am not sure how the children are handled . . . maybe just a copy of the birth certificate (but I still think you need a notarized statement from the other parent to approve taking the child into another country).

My DH is a master automotive technician for a major dealership for over 25 years. . . . with regard to the Acura, I am not sure of the year of the vehicle but there are computers that can be plugged into the main computer to determine what happened during the last 60 cycles of turning on the key. They can see how fast the vehicle was going (if and when) anything caused the car to become disabled. The computer can read out if there was any type of malfunction and what happened and what the car was doing at that exact time. If the car was really old (ie: 1990's) it may not have all of those capabilities but all of the newer ones do.

It was a 1998

Right. I was in a rush this morning to get to work after my post but I did get a chance to look it up. They do have ferries from Seattle to Vancouver and Victoria Island everyday from Monday - Friday.

You are correct. All is needed is an EDL (enhanced driver's license) for adults. For children, a birth certificate is required and parental consent from the other parent. I think that could easily be forged, imo.

If Julia has family in Canada, I could see this as a very good possibility that Sky got across!

The car JB was driving was a 98. Would a 98 have this computer feature?

DH just said it probably would not have all of the same bells and whistles pre-2000 era. However, if the car did run out of gas or had an engine malfunction the "check engine light" would have come on and the dealerships can plug in a computer to get a "code" to see what might have happened, albeit the computer systems in 1997 were pretty primative to what they have now.

Getting data from 98 would be limited but there could be some.
