I have become fixated on these journals, because I just know they were rewritten. Would she have needed to rewrite the 2007, or just the 2008? I can't recall whether entries from 2007 were used in court. Anyone??

It would seem a lot to write from the time of the murder (or maybe the beginning of premeditation) until her arrest, but I think in-jail would be almost impossible. Plus she was very keen for Flores to receive those journals during her interrogation.

1. Does the jail allow journal writing in the cell?
2. How would she then be able to get it (or them) into evidence?

Wilmott and Nurmi obviously have no consciousness of guilt when it comes to the twisting and manipulating of words and facts, but it's a different story to enter known false journals into evidence. I would think that would not be worth their licences.

She would have to smuggle it (them) out to Mum or MM, who would then discover same to present to the lawyers.

I dunno, but it was done somehow.

Didn't JA have access to all of the evidence when she was playing at being her own attorney?

OK so, Miss ALV was initially a neutral witness, not for Prosecution, not for Defense, correct?..IIRC it was only at some point along the line, over the course of all pre-trial hearings that she arrived at becoming an actual testifying expert for the Defense..is this correct?..would someone clarify for me if the above is accurate, if not what exactly were the circumstances that transpired in her becoming a testifying, expert witness for the Defense?..TIA:)

Reason being is that I want to make sure that I am understanding correctly just how it is that Miss ALV came to be a Defense expert witness.

I just realized in JW's opening argument, she makes it sound as if Travis & JA are dating, he's treating her so sweetly and it "sealed the deal" ~ so she then moves to AZ.. WTH?

Uh, no Jen, actually she moved to Mesa after they broke up ~ Stalking is fun & easy when you're local! Silly lawyer!
(Sorry.. it's getting harder & harder to deal with JW ~ watching trial videos a second time, you catch so many subtle lies missed the first time around.. horrible..)

As a juror, I'd view opening statements as promises. JW promised the jury an expert would show that the Travis Alexander's t-shirt was proof of TA's control over Jodi. Did ALV prove that, and I missed it? Did she talk about the circumstances when/why re his giving it to Jodi? Did ALV present any evidence TA ever told/asked Jodi to wear it or indicate he ever mentioned it in passing in all their email/text exchanges she read? Not that I heard, beyond Jodi's word that it was a Valentine's gift iirc.

" Did the roommate not smell how gross the house smelled? "

Maybe he did, but as I recall he was a fairly new tenant and was perhaps waiting for Travis to come home to do something about it.

We had some kind of small animal crawl under our house and die one time... and the smell in the back rooms of the house was horrid for about a week -- we did not ever go under there to find out what it was, though.

Wow thank you for this. Bookmarked for reference. I think that's exactly what needs to be said. People just cannot fathom that Jodi was the stalker/abuser and Travis was the victim.

I first saw JA's drawing of Snow White with a black eye last night on the 'Justice for Travis Alexander' Facebook page, and attempted to have a discussion about it on WS with whomever was up at 3AM est! (Thread #122, Post #1247, I think.) It actually sold on eBay for $885... seriously!

Here's another copy for this thread:
Yeah, don't you find it odd also how that picture related to the Snow White workshop that ALV gave during that time,...love how JM approached from that angle, maybe making the connection that Jodi sees herself as snow white hence the pic and also the ALV snow white workshop she put on, that's just odd to me... I sure hope he shows that picture!!!!

I found it amusing that Snow White was being interpreted by Alyce in Wonderland. :floorlaugh:

One thing for sure--I bet she quits using that fairy tale in her future speaking engagements. Probably leaves a bad taste in her mouth now.

Maybe someone with experience can answer this for me.

1) First date - everything is wonderful
2) Battered woman is isolated and abused

Here's what I don't get. Somewhere between #1 and #3, BEFORE this person is a victim, why not leave? I agree by the time they get to the very end, they are too involved and enmeshed to have the will to leave. But SOMEWHERE between there, when they notice things aren't going good, why not leave THEN?
In other words - where is the point of no return? Why not leave at the first hint of trouble?

These are very good questions.

People who are raised in abusive households do not necessarily see the "Red Flags" of a potential abusive mate. They are so used to seeing it, experiencing it, it becomes normal.

This is a brief example

The isolation from family and friends can be very, very gradual. "Oh that friend of yours is such a *advertiser censored*, you shouldn't be around him/her"
in order to please that mate, the person may think, "Hey, I want to please my partner, I'm not going to be friends with them anymore."

"Your mom & dad hate me, I can tell, they give me dirty looks over Thanksgiving dinner."
geez, my parents think my partner is a jerk, I better hold-off on mom and dad because I want my partner to be secure.

Just watching opening argument on HLN by JW. Do they know for sure that Travis Alexander made that shirt for Jodi that says Tavis Alexander's? Or could Jodi have just made that and said Travis gave it to her?

Also, I heard MiMi's (?) testimony that a friend gave them the code to the garage and they went into Travis' house and the house was really smelly and then they got the roommate who was in the house to open Travis' locked bedroom door? Did the roommate not smell how gross the house smelled?

I sat in on the trial yesterday morning session and it was very surreal to see the jurors after having only watched this on TV and never seeing them. And next it was very strange to see Jodi. My daughter and I sat behind Jodi's mum.

I think there's a lot of agreement that Jodi made the T-shirt and underwear herself. I'm not sure the date on the picture, but if she did it while he was alive, it would have been her idea of a "present" to him. ick

About the smell, he was in a bathroom within a bedroom and in an area w/ no humidity. (slows decomp) He also had two AC zones, I don't know how the zones were split but someone in one zone wouldn't be getting much recirculated air from the other zone. Plus, the smell built gradually and it's really easy to become smell-blind to something that.

So I can see how someone may not have noticed for awhile.

Good for you going to the trial. Check out the court observers thread in this forum too

Snipped by me.

ALV was initially retained as the DT's Mitigation Specialist.
Edit: I meant Mitigation Witness. Sorry. Ididn't realise there were two roles

Does anyone know if there is a chain of evidence on her journals? How much time did she have to falisfy, add or subtract. Were they in the hands of the defense?

She KNEW she was about to be arrested, long before she actually was. So she had a couple of weeks to re-write some of this carp.

ALV wants the jury to believe that Arias' attitude towards Travis can be summed up in Alanis Morissette's song 'You owe me nothing in return' when, in fact, 'You oughta know' is closer to the truth.

Did anyone notice that the car parked in Travis's driveway (behind the crime tape) was a small white 4-door sedan? Was that Travis's car? Or the roommates? Did Jodi know that and ask for a fairly matchy car so as to not stand out in the neighbors' minds?

(There's a photo in the crime scene shots, but the link is too large to post)

BBM

I think she made the undies herself. When ALV was questioned on it, she only talked about the shirt that said Travis Alexander's. She never mentioned the undies. I would think the undies would stand out in her memory if JA told her about them.:twocents:

Any impressions of the jurors you'd like to share, especially their reaction to the Snow White segment?

I remember someone had posted a long time ago about this question. I'm going to paraphrase what I remember. (DO YOU HAVE MEMORY ISSUES MA'AM?)

Some houses in AZ have 2 air conditioner units, 1 for each side of the house - so it's possible that it never circulated the odor to the other side of the house. Also, his master bedroom suite was shut and closed, his body was left in the shower stall.

Hi all!

So I am also wondering about Travis' journals. I couldn't stand to listen to ALV after last week, so I missed most of what she said, however, I did catch a few minutes yesterday when she was talking about interactions between Travis and other women. I didn't know where she was getting her information about what Travis told some other woman - was this from his journal???

I have a question about Travis' journals.

I saw some comments earlier that gave me the impression that people were saying that ALV was reading from Travis' journals, but I thought his journals were missing and they have not been found. (They are probably somewhere with the knife and gun-wherever JA put them!).

So, have his journals been found and does the defense have them?

Thanks!
