I have read a lot of the texts and emails but the one where Travis was so angry and upset is different. Something very serious happened for Travis to be that upset with her.

That was one of the things that made me so livid yesterday when ALV took it on her own to be a crystal ball reader and said it proved he was an abuser. If she wasn't filled with so much bias she would have gotten to the bottom of it WHY he became so upset with Arias but she seems to dismiss everything that may put her in a bad light.

I don't think he knew she was coming there that day. I think she snuck in. She had his garage key pad code.

Also I've been thinking. lol If Travis was so sexually attracted to her then why didn't they have sex right away? I'm sure a lot of us have had times we have had to be away from our partner and missed them sexually as well and cant wait to have sex with each other. After all she had moved in April and he hadn't seen her since she moved. But according to Arias they go to sleep and sleep until after 1? What couple does that when sex is suppose to be everything in this relationship? What young couple waits 7-8 hours to have sex when nothing is stopping them from having it when she walked in the door around 3-4 in the morning? Something just isn't right.

And to me Juan really cant prove that Travis even had sex that day. I listened closely to his OS awhile ago and the two photos of Travis laying on the bed are the only two of Travis other than the shower pics and crime pics and we know he is not aroused in those photos.

IMO

I always thought the sex photos looked staged but changed my mind when a poster said there were many others showing actual intercourse but the prosecution and defense agreed these would be too prejudicial (read: salacious).

So which is the truth? I understand they stipulated that the couple had sex. What else is known?

Someone who is just trying to sell seminars, IMO. It's a cheap stunt and was scoffed at when first suggested in the 70's, as was the suggestion that Dorothy's red shoes were symbolic of menstrual blood running down the legs.

Jodi claims Travis gave her his passwords/PIN numbers to several sites. What does "she hacked into" whatever mean? i.e. Does this take some smarts or specialized knowledge within her reach? I certainly couldn't hack into anything.

I agree with the slippery slope that might ensue from answering a closed question that requires elaboration, but it would be easier to accept if you aren't trying to argue every yes or no question. That's simply obfuscation,no matter how you rationalize it. When Juan asks, "Isn't that one of your main tools," that is an obviously simple yes or no question. It does not commit you to saying "it is my main tool," but that is exactly how she tried to justify her unwillingness to answer. There's only one of two ways to see that. She either isn't listening to the question carefully, or she is intentionally being obtuse to avoid answering. The latter is most likely given her later responses.

Recall that at a certain point she mentions that she does "not know what he is trying to say," and other statements in a similar vein. This statement is not consistent with active listening. What she is obviously doing is attempting to stay ahead of the prosecutor and prepare her answers -- or her obstruction to those answers -- appropriately. Given the painful results, it is clear she does not think fast enough to be able to play that game with this particular person. In any event, that is not what she is there for. She should simply answer the questions to the best of her ability as the so-called "expert" she purports to be.

A professional would recognize that there may be alternatives to his or her conclusions. The fact that she is unwilling to acknowledge even the slightest possibility of her fallibility is telling and does not speak well for her.

Finally, even if a simple yes or no answer would be insufficient owing to a need for further elaboration, she could simply state that as she answered. We saw that several times with Dr. Samuels. He tried similar tactics with JM, but realized at some point that it was easier for him to simply say, "I would say yes, but I would need to elaborate." JM can either allow that or not depending. If it's of earth-shattering importance, it will be up to the defense to handle it on redirect.

I understand what you're saying about JM attempting to engineer people into a tight box with some of the questioning -- but he doesn't do it with every question. The problem, in my view, is that when witnesses like these are trying to guess his strategy rather than simply answering, they become constantly obfuscative and combative. If they would choose their battles more wisely -- such as in the instances you've highlighted here, where a closed answer would be inadequate -- the jury would view them much more favorably in my estimation.

A lot of what LaViolette says seems just plain wrong. For example, she testified that the evidence shows that Travis was jealous, and there is no trace of Jodi being jealous. But Jodi's diary said:
I certainly wasn't thrilled - no - I was DEVASTATED when I discovered that he wasn't being faithful to me. I just don't get why men cheat!!! ... Infidelity is so awful and causes rediculous [sic] pain. ... Each time the transgressor seemed grieved that I got hurt.
This proves that Jodi was jealous. LaViolette also testified that Jodi did not write about her being abused because she believed in the law of attraction. But the above diary shows that Jodi did write negative things about Travis.

Update: The defense complained about the release of documents and videos, and asked that the jury be sequestered. The judge said no. The documents and video seem to contradict what the defense experts are saying, and the defense does not want the jury to see that.

I have read this blog several times and am very familiar with it. On the one hand, the author has many insightful, interesting things to say. On the other hand, he says some of the nastiest, hateful, misogynist and racist things, too.

When AVL said the name of her "was snow white a battered woman" seminars was a "catchy phrase", I found that to be extremely offensive.

There's nothing "catchy" about being battered in a relationship. AVL has quite the money making scheme going on and it's good to know that scheme has now begun its' swirl down the drain.

I don't see how this is possible; please explain. The journals were seized from her bedroom after she was arrested - Flores tells her in the interrogation that the police have the journals. (JA checks to make sure they have both.)

The journals have not been in her possession since she was arrested, and certainly not with her in the jail cell.

But she was not arrested until mid-July. She had 6 weeks to add things or rewrite things or revise things in her journal.

It is a good thing that she had not thought of making the false pedophilia accusations yet, or we would have seen some additions about that, imo.

But I do think her original defense was = " I was not jealous, I was not into Travis anymore and I was never in Arizona, the end."

I wasn't there for the afternoon session just the morning up until the lunch break.

For that part of the trial they all looked very bored. Juror number 3 was taking notes most of the time and then only a few others took very sporadic notes.

I definitely saw at least four of the men jurors fall asleep at one time or another.

I thought the jury would be a bit more diverse in ethnicity than what it was. All white except one hispanic juror.

I totally agree. I hadn't really thought about it all that much, but since reading some of the entries I've found online after the release of the 600 pages, I'm completely convinced that's exactly what she did. She already has what's been called hypergraphia, so it would be an easy task for her to completely make up a new journal in a relatively short period of time. She would have the original journal at her side to re-create actual events with specific dates, but adding a bunch of new entries to cover her story. However, the only quibble I have is that IF she re-wrote it, why not incorporate the phony battering stories. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here...

I think because she didn't come up with her #3, self defense story till she had been in jail for two years. In fact Nurmi and Dc Sam had to tell her no one would believe her first two stories.
