What do you make of Terri never speaking to the media?

I think it's easy for any of us to sit in our comfortable homes, typing on our computers, saying what we'd do if we were Terri and we were innocent. If we were innocent, we would martyr ourselves for the sake of this child.

I pray I never have to be in a situation like the one facing these people. DY and KH have said repeatedly the focus needs to be on Kyron, and then have, at length, put the focus on Terri.

If Terri's guilty, I'm sure she's thinking about Kyron, what she did to him, where he is, and how she's going to get out of this, if she can. What does that look like? Is that a sneer? Is that a look of concentration? Is that four blinks, then two, then nine? Is that tears? Is that a t-shirt versus a ruffled shirt?

If Terri's innocent, her entire life is destroyed. She will never be the person she was before June 4. Her husband has left her and has taken her child, the stepson she raised is missing, and her name and reputation are destroyed. What does that look like? Is that resigned? Is that sobbing? Is that hair braided? Is that no mascara?

If she's guilty...it is sad how someone could throw it all away. :banghead:

Great post Cypress....very sobering, yes.

DY has been talking in front of the media. DY has been showing emotion over the loss of Kyron. And honestly, if I knew I was going to be in the media at least twice a week, I would try to make myself look good. It's strange, but it's a woman thing. She has shown a lot strength and resolve in the face of losing her son, and it's obvious she cares about him and wants him back. TH hasn't been in front of the media. TH has not been talking. TH has not being showing one hint of emotion or that she cares about any of the kids here much less Kyron. TH has no reason to doll herself up to go to her lawyer's office unless there's a crush going on there. TH should be devasted that Kyron is missing, her baby has been taken from her, her home has been taken from her, and she probably hasn't seen her older son in about a month or so. Instead, it's like she's already moving on with a new single life and is trying to look attractive at a time she really shouldn't.

All I'm saying is, two totally different situations with these women right now.

Agreed, and I think DY looks totally devastated in her media interviews not at all emotionless as someone suggested. DY's eyes got teary a few times during the last presser.

You may be very correct on that, I just thought she looked resolved to the harassment and determined to not be baited into a confrontation.

Some of these EXACT same kinds of comments were made about Elizabeth Smart's parents. Too calm, even serene, not emotional, too quiet, not enough facial expression, voices too soft, etc etc.......Guess they didn't read the manual on proper facial expressions either, but then again, there are people who STILL swear her father is guilty. Even after a confession by one of the kidnappers. Some even criticized ELIZABETH for her facial expressions and self assurance after her return.

I missed the part where they tried to hire a hit man to kill each other.

I do feel that Terri is guilty...but if she isn't, there will be lots of people who will always believe she is. There is just so much venom out there against this woman right now, I don't think it would all fall away if it is proven someone else did this crime.

Don't shoot the messenger please.

But we are veering off track here enough to get this thread closed down for review IMHO.

Just an FYI.

ETA: :) said with a smile.

I think she looks defeated!

I get that impression as well, KR2tonenow. She knows everyone is onto her and also that it is only a matter of time before she is arrested.

I also get the distinct impression that she does not want anyone to even look at her. It was just so odd to me that she actually stood behind the blonde escort as if to hide.

In the video, I felt that the blonde woman behaved most unprofessionally. It did appear, as others have noted, that it looked like she was trying to stop herself from smiling/chuckling not once, but twice. I hated that she did this the second time when the reporter asked Terri if she knows where Kyron is. Wth?

Here is my take on the blonde woman... to me, and this is my opinion, she was absolutely giddy at the prospect of getting her 15 minutes of fame and was trying to hide how much she was enjoying her new found *stardom.* Imo, her attitude doesn't represent the firm very well and the last thing Terri needs (not that I care what Terri needs because I don't) is this giddy girl making light of the fact that a little boy is missing and is most likely deceased. Very unprofessional is all I can say.

I saw a woman surprised by the media and a bit of nervous behaviour, along with scoffing at the reporter's insistence. It's not like she knew they were going to be there and had a radiant smile & scripted response or anything (unlike many lawyers & suspects we've seen on-camera in other cases).

I was expecting to feel bad for Terri being humiliated. I was prepared for that to be my reaction b/c she has not been proven guilty and I'm sometimes too much of a bleeding heart.

However, there was nothing there. I felt no empathy or sympathy whatsoever for her. Could that be b/c she showed none or I didn't sense any in her? Idk ...

I'm withholding judgment on her (lack of) reaction b/c she is likely following strict orders from a highly-paid attorney. I read nothing into her stiff body language except discomfort and annoyance, which any of us would feel if we felt we were being accosted.

However, I LOVE that reporter. I read a few comments before I watched the video & I really thought I'd think he was rude but I didn't. It was only a few seconds after the blond lady told him he was on private property that the video cut off. I don't think he did anything prosecutable.
Besides, he's already acquitted! Just read this thread. He could have been going to, or coming from, Starbucks! He could have been heading up to a radio station to do an interview, he could have been having his shoes re-soled. Gosh, he might have just been trying to cool off in the basement parking lot. Maybe he was on his way to hire his OWN lawyer.

Somebody has to do his job; might as well be him! Looks like there will be plenty of supporters for him should he be prosecuted for being in a public building's parking lot.

What's weird is, no matter our differing opinions about Terri, she is able to put on a very cool front. I keep feeling uncomfortable for her and yet; is she even feeling ANYTHING remotely like we are? Grief, sadness, horror. Is she experiencing any emotions? Guilt and remorse even, if she hurt Kyron. It is really unsettling.

my thoughts.

my opinion.

wow...she looks like a totally different person here than at the first pc.

I looked at this picture of TH and felt such an overwhelming sadness and compassion. Will watch the entire video tomorrow to see if my feelings change.

Oh....I am not criticizing the Smarts in any way. I never believed that there was ANYTHING wrong with the way they acted or re-acted. Many others were vicious in their criticism of that family and still are in many cases. BUT I am not going to carte blanche believe an anonymous gardner, who may very well have been out for his own piece of the pie and 15 minutes of fame. LE could just have logically been trying to trap him into evidence of extortion. AND LE came right out today and distanced themselves from KH and DY in terms of the most recent round of media performances. I just prefer to look at a problem from all sides rather than put on blinders to the obvious mistakes made by all parties involved.

See...I don't really believe that or I hope not. There will always be a few a few for sure but I would bet it would be a tiny percentage. I do see a problem with her profession as a teacher of course. Too early to say if her not working in that profession is a good thing or bad.

Terri's recent appearance has been discussed a great deal, with many believing she looks more beautiful and younger. I think DY does too....when I saw her today with Kaine, I couldn't believe she was the same woman from the first presser. She was wearing jewelry and had her hair curled in a side-sweep pony tail...her make-up was flawless. She was well-composed, no tears. She glanced often at Kaine. What does any of this mean? I have no idea.....
I think it means they are more aware that they are on camera so naturally they want to look decent and take more time with their appearance.

Hey, I like playing devil's advocate as well sometimes. Sorry if I offended you.

There's playing devil's advocate, and there's an accusation. Either way, I'm not offended, more disappointed that a dissenting opinion would garner such a response.
