That’s what I came here to find out.Now that Elijah’s remains are confirmed I wonder if Vang’s and/or Baur’s charges will be upgraded to murder. I’m a little worried that the ME will have a difficult time determining a COD but hoping that LE has enough evidence to go ahead with murder charges anyway.
Right now Vang is scheduled for a status conference on September 27 and Baur is scheduled for a status conference on October 22 due to her recently having a new attorney appointed. Will those dates change now? I’m expecting things to slow down a bit but hopefully we’ll quickly learn about any new charges.

Police confirm remains found in Manitowoc County belong to missing Elijah Vue
Two Rivers police confirmed Friday that the remains discovered in Manitowoc County over the weekend were that of missing Elijah Vue.fox11online.com
Wondering if that is a practical distance for the toddler to have travelled on his own at the time of his disappearance. RIP Elijah. MOO
I wonder too but doubt it. I also thinkCNN September 13, 2024 online article by Zoe Sottile entitled ‘Remains of Elijah Vue, Wisconsin toddler missing since February, found in thick wooded area’:
His remains were discovered on September 7, 2024 according to the article. Excerpt from the article: “The toddler’s remains were found on private property just over three miles northwest of where he was originally reported missing…”

I don't buy the he wandered off theory either. But IMO the photo really does nothing to rule out that theory.I hope time isn't even wasted on an Elijah wandering theory.
The photo of Elijah blindfolded and bruised knocks that right down.
I know the defence can say those things but we know an alive 3 year old with those bruises really could stretch reasonable doubt walking three miles.I don't buy the he wandered off theory either. But IMO the photo really does nothing to rule out that theory.
We have no evidence the photo was of a child who was already dead. So IMO we should assume he was still alive then. Abuse could easily make a child who is able to walk try to leave the place where he's been abused and make him try to get away from the person abusing him, particularly if the abuser isn't a parent and the place abuse has taken place isn't home.

At least, I hope.I know the defence can say those things but we know an alive 3 year old with those bruises really could stretch reasonable doubt walking three miles.
I don't think that little boy walked anywhere.I know the defence can say those things but we know an alive 3 year old with those bruises really could stretch reasonable doubt walking three miles.
Now that location is known, I hope there are witnesses that saw something that is now incriminating who come forward.I don't think that little boy walked anywhere.
It's a hard thing to wish for, but I hope that his bones are able to tell the forensic anthropologist exactly what happened to him. I strongly suspect he was beaten to death. Unlike something like smothering, blunt force trauma can leave clear skeletal trauma.

By the time there are arrests for murder and a trial (assuming that happens as one would expect), I'd certainly hope the state has more evidence than a deleted photo of a bruised child taken with the mother's cell phone and the location of the remains. I expect LE has had evidence we don't know about all along and I'd expect the autopsy and the area where the remains were found to yield more information. But while very suspicious, if the photo and the location of the remains is all the state has, yes, IMO that's reasonable doubt re: anyone being convicted of murder.I know the defence can say those things but we know an alive 3 year old with those bruises really could stretch reasonable doubt walking three miles.
