I just can't stop thinking about Jayme, much like the past 3 months. Her strength and will to live astounds me. In child psychology, there are certain ages when a kid starts to be hyper aware of their parents' mortality and it can become an anxious focal point in their life. If I recall correctly those ages are 8 and 13. i actually remember from my own childhood that at those ages i was particularly anxious about knowing my mom was safe at all times. If she was even 5 minutes late i assumed the worst and started panicking. Being completely honest, if i had not only lost both my parents at 13, but witnessed it, and then was taken by someone i probably would've just told him to kill me too. I wouldn't have wanted to live. I'm really in awe of her.

She will never, of course, ever be quite the same. But goodness I do hope she is able to have true happiness.

Sorry this wasn't really anything new to add. I've just been crying about it a lot - both tears of joy that she's home and safe, but also tears of sadness for what she experienced and what she has ahead of her.

Those photos of the inside of the house are disturbing. Dr. Phil always says "The most powerful role model in a child's life is the same-sex parent." Not saying I agree or disagree with his view. That being said, I wonder about JP's father. Where is he in this picture? I saw the photo of JP with his mother and sister, but no mention of his father. There has been nothing in the media about him except that he owned the house. We know his brother is a registered sex offender and sold drugs. His parents divorced several years ago. Yet, they lived in this little town for years, but don't seem to have any strong ties to the community. The interior of the house is filthy, yet it had running water and electricity. Someone was paying for that....the father?

Yeah - his mom posted a pic in August 2017 implying he may have been about to leave for boot.

My best guess is he enlisted in April, went through the normal months of testing and paperwork and waiting for a slot, and had a date with Marine boot camp destiny in August :) He lists December as the end of the boot camp thing (did he mean boot camp + tech?) A more experienced person would have listed boot and tech school separately, for impact, but he was only 20-ish, so...

Hard to tell at this point if he separated, or went into the Reserves. At least one of his friends believes he separated.
That picture was dated 2015, and the comment that accompanied it, was the reason I brought up him possibly having military experience, when he was first identified.

He would have been 18 then, which makes me skeptical of this “resume” that apparently pushes the date out by two years.

The New York Post article, says that he “dropped out of boot camp,” which is funny, because one does not “drop out,” atleast in the Marines.

I strongly suspect that he did go, but never graduated, or was discharged prior to fulfilling his obligations in regards to MCT or MOS school.

Even reservists have to meet this requirement before joining their reserve unit.

I don’t think he made it that far.

The pics don't appear authentic. One shows what appears to be at a sleazy dumpy motel as you can see a do not disturb sign on door and a wall ac/heat unit outside the door. JMO

I don't know if the property has even been cleared by LE but hopefully the ones who need to see these pics already are on top of it. MOO.

Regardless, it is absolutely disgusting to even entertain. Again, MOO.

They look authentic to me. We have those same window units and you can purchase door placards at many plaes-or sneak them home from motels. This simply looks like a basement room to me.

Public gets closer look at the property where Jayme Closs was held captive
“You see the dad go in and out on weekends primarily is when you see him and the kids,” said a neighbor. “I don’t know much about them besides being warned about them being troublemakers.”

Neighbors say the Patterson boys terrorized the neighborhood by breaking into cabins while they were empty in the winter.

Property records show their father, PP, was the owner of the home until days after Closs’ abduction, when it became property of the bank.

“If the dad was coming around, he would have had to have known the girl was there,” a neighor added.

12 miles from the house, in the small town of Gordon, people don’t know much about Patterson, but those who went to high school with him describe him with one word: quiet.

“He was just really quiet whenever I’d see him in the hallways and stuff,” said HK, a former classmate of Patterson’s. “I didn’t think he could ever do anything like this. It just seemed so unreal that he did that.”

Jayme's statement (via police call log):

"The call log states that Jayme told the woman Patterson didn’t work, used to be in the military and “turns the radio up and sometimes has people come over while he is gone.”

I think the bank was paid off by the father rather. If he had let it be foreclosed on there would have been notices of default sent to the home and paperwork posted on the front door of pending foreclosure. Then, once it was foreclosed upon, the occupant would have been given eviction notices. I doubt if this went back to the bank JP was going to want to have a kidnapped girl there.
Are the property records available?

IMO, his attorneys are going to try to implicate her. Words like "tragic" and "prayers." I see it now. Ugh.

I think so too. However, I don't see that working in their favor. If anything it's going to po a lot of people. JMO.

I hope he pleads guilty as this young lady has been through hell and back. Her amazing strength and will to live amazes me. Bless her. Her cousin said it best... "Jayme is a badass".

Members Mark is Sams Club store brand. The nearest Sams Club would be Duluth MN. (Hermantown, specifically.)
I think they also sell the brand at WalMart. I have to wonder if JP worked at Walmart and that's where he discovered Jaime Closs and stalked her from there. Didn't Jayme take dance classes at another town? Maybe there is a Walmart there.

Great observations. What is increasingly odd to me is that no one can seem to get his enlistment records. Possibly a delay in access due to the government shutdown? And of course military lawyers (like many of the other lawyers circling around this case) will hold out as long as possible withholding information damaging to their respective clients.
