Aliens.

That is really all I have at this point. This is exhausting. I am having the craziest dreams now too from falling asleep with my phone as I read comments on here.

I know we doubt the body in MN is her. But any reason they haven't released any info?? Every body found in WI always comes with gender. This one has absolutely nothing and still... nothing. Kind of odd. Willmar is where the other Jennie-O plant is too. Probably coincidental but my sleepless mind is going everywhere.
I was dreaming about this case last night. Like I was invisible but there watching for clues.

I think, who is able to murder two parents in a violent manner (crime scene was described to have been a "violent" situation), doesn't have in mind to honestly "rescue" a just 13 yo girl. IMO, he is rescuing himself in first taking JC with him; then perhaps he will think, what to do with her in the future. If he is related or known to her, he possibly will be "humane" with JC and only start some brainwashing, being far away forever. MOO

But to the diseased mind, the perceived offenders of Jayme's "need" to be rescued might very well need to be punished for "what they have done", right? Which is potentially the reason he/she/they waited until a time and place to "rescue" her where those perceived offenders would most likely be available for said vengeance.

JMO.

Please excuse my naiveté regarding the sound of gunshots.
The neighbours stated they heard two however, some forums have stated that multiple rounds were shot.
If multiple rounds were shot would the neighbours only hear two as two shots were outside the home and the rest inside? (I have read somewhere that the lock on the door was shot at)
If only two shots, both inside the home, would the sound be loud enough for neighbours to hear?
Depending on the insulation in the house it is possible a gun could be fired inside with the doors and windows closed and it wouldn't be audible to the neighbors down the street. If the door was opened or the shooter moved outside then it would just be the trees muffling the sound. The neighbors aren't very close. They have a patch of trees between them.

The only mention of answering the door comes from the 911 log. One of the officers first impression of a scene that wasn't even necessarily a homicide yet in their minds.

I don't think it is a matter of trusting them or not. Even the sheriff cautioned that the 911 log is not necessarily reflecting the evidence collected from the scene.

If James was DOA they can't know if he "answered the door" and even the "kicked in" is just a first impression from the log and "shot in" is a rumour from outside of LE.

It is confirmed by Sheriff Fitzgerald after the log came out that James was at the doorway and Denise further in the home. They died from gunshot wounds. Everything else, it seems, should be taken with a grain of salt, even if we trust LE and believe them. Imo

Okay.

I find it highly doubtful this murderer and kidnapper would let his biggest threat loose in the home to even make it to his front door.

Imo it is much more logical to me that the police have it right and he was killed answering the door.

Since it was late at night he being the only man in the home he would be the one to come to the door thus I think he was shot right there immediately and died instantly or very shortly afterwards.

Imo

In my opinion, all guns are extremely loud, some more than others, but whether or not they could be heard from inside, or where the gunshots occurred, is unknown. All we know is the neighbors heard two gunshots. We can only speculate that more were shot from within the house, besides the one that killed Denise, which would seem to have been done once he entered the house. Since they said the second shot was even louder, it adds even more confusion. That's why I originally thought James was shot last, while trying to prevent the killer from taking his daughter. Now I'm not so sure. Jmo

For any of you that were around in the Missy Beavers case, didn’t the FBI bring in a special piece of equipment that could detect cell phones? Perhaps it was similar to a drone in that it could go into different areas and detect cell phones even if they were not on.

Wonder if this equipment is being used in the Jayme case?

Yes and I’m just about certain they would have done it

Stupid blasted phone. I’m having trouble posting. This incomplete and I hope my post was saved and I can find it. Battery slow down issues and I’m considering a google phone. Any opinions??

Maybe this has already been tossed out there but I am thinking: Everyone is in bed asleep. Was James found at the door dressed or as if he had been sleeping. Predator 1 or maybe 2 came in patio door left unlocked? I grew up in rural area and door locking was never a high priority. They subdue and take Jayme out of her room out the patio door. James and Denise wake up. James goes to the front door maybe car is running close to front of house. James is shot by predator Jayme gets loose runs to her mom. That’s when 911 call happens and they kill Denise and take Jayme. Making Jayme the target and the parents got in the way.

People keep bringing up this idea. Do people really rely on a chain lock for their outside door security? I don't remember ever having a front door without a deadbolt.

In my experience, older houses in rural areas all have them (unless the houses have been redone). Some still have deadbolts, too, and some don't (seen it both ways).

I don't want to start another Smrekar debate, but they have also said that the second shot was muffled:

Dozens of volunteers help in foot search for missing Wisconsin 13-year-old

"Smrekar and her husband, Tom, had gone to bed about 12:15 a.m. Monday when minutes later she said she heard “BOOM!” Within seconds came another but more muffled bang."

I live in a rural area where I hear gunshots often. Most of the time its off in the distance and people are target practicing outside in their yard.

Sound is a funny thing. Even when its the same person shooting over and over again the sound can get louder or softer depending on how I myself turn. So if I turn a certain way I can hear it much louder than if I turn a different way or move around my own yard.

Sound also varies greatly if the muzzle of the gun is pointed in the direction of the person hearing the sound or in opposite direction of them.

The bottom line is sound of gunshots can vary a lot even if people doing the shooting and the people doing the hearing only move a little bit.

I have lived in a rural area my entire life and we ALWAYS made sure our doors and cars were locked. We would always check windows and doors before bed. No one had ever broken into our home or vehicle but from the time I was a kid my parents always told me to lock the doors. We keep doors locked during the day while we are at home too. My husband will make fun of me because I am diligent about locking up. On the other hand, his house was never locked. They would have people coming and going at all hours of the night. It was like a flop house.
Locked doors would do you no good if some crazy kicked in the door with a big gun!
Just saying!

Maybe they have tire tracks that show tire size / tread...?
I wondered about this.
According to the weather reports, the area had light snow from 11:15-3:15 on Oct.14.(unsure whether posting a link to area weather is allowed?) Enough to leave puddles in the driveway. Officials hunt for missing teen after her parents found dead << 23 seconds into the video, you can see the puddle. So, I am curious if there was a vehicle in the driveway that night, which would explain the angle that James was parked and if tire marks were found.

Thank you. To the best of my recollection I think I only said I didn't know how to send one. I will refrain from asking in the future.
Then just follow the instructions. You will need a subject line, the other members screen name, etc. Ok?
Snipped for focus.

Nitpicking, the only cross country race was the Warrior Invite at UWBC. The other two races are road races on streets with people of all ages and genders.
I did find one more result under Denise's name but I feel pretty confident this was Jayme as the age division is 1-10:
Denise Closs

I put all the race locations on the map as a separate layer. I don't think this really helps the case, but it is nice to be dealing in facts and tangibles. The location for Haley's Comet has changed from 2016/2017 (if you visit the current website), I know this because I was a spectator there (weird).

Here is the map:
Jayme Closs Case - Google My Maps

Sorry but without some explanation I have no idea which blue d ots are what point of reference! Maybe number the name on the left then number the blue dot on the map.
Your map is wonderful.

Hmm, when I am in edit mode, it selects each point as I mouse over the name in the left side key, but when I go to view mode I have to click on each point to bring up the citations and information on each point.

Edit: I will see if I can change some settings to make it easier to read
Second Edit: I added the name labels, thanks for pointing that out to me!

This is supposed to be a viable opinion with a dash of humor. Some one said my posts were to dry and factual.

Do I think these neighbors are nice people yes.

Did they hear something? Probably and honest about it.

Enjoy the attention. Yup

Are highly socially skilled? nope.

Good neighbors? Maybe

Honest God fearing? Hope so likely?

Believe their statement? I think they are trying to be as honest and helpful but may not be accurate. Everyone makes mistakes.

Thank you. My opinion with a dash of humor.

I was asked to find the number of cars that travel the road in front of Closs Home. most recent I found was WISCONSOn dot completed in 2007 as a preservation study/corridor. No numbers but here’s the gist:

Tier I - study completed in fall 2007
Tier I is located between WIS 35 North (Polk County) to US 53 (Barron County). The project section passes through the communities of Range, Turtle Lake, Almena, Poskin, and Barron.

The need for improvements on US 8 has been determined based on:

  • Capacity deficiencies
    • Capacity refers to the number of vehicles that can safely travel on a segment of roadway under varying weather conditions. According to traffic projections, volumes on US 8 will increase over 60% by the year 2030. Increased traffic will result in congestion along the corridor and substantial delays for traffic on side roads trying to access US 8.
  • Safety concerns
    • US 8 has experienced higher than average crash rates in the urban areas of Turtle Lake and Barron. Increased traffic volumes result in longer traffic streams that make it difficult for vehicles to pass or enter the highway from side roads.
  • Roadway deficiencies
    • US 8 follows a rolling terrain with some sharp curves and several steep hills in rural areas. The steep hills limit visibility at intersections for both US 8 drivers and drivers at side roads. Many roads intersect US 8 midway between the crest and the bottom of the hill.
  • I can’t find anything more. Sorry. Typical DOT info.
