NEW: @CNN has obtained the #JaymeCloss 911 call log. - Call was made from Denise Closs’s cell phone. - No one spoke directly to 911 dispatcher, but “a lot of yelling was heard” in the background. - Family dog was still at the house when deputies arrived. @WCCO #wcco #barron

911 Call In Jayme Closs Case Came From Mom’s Cell Phone

It seems bizarre that he'd be able to answer the door and not mention his daughter was taken, though. I really don't think it makes sense that way. One thing I have noticed from reading police reports--and this isn't a knock on LE--is the grammar is always not the greatest and the wording is often awkward simply because the person speaking or writing is not extremely articulate. Just because the wording is awkward doesn't mean anything on its own.

I don't understand what I have bolded.

Edit. Double quote. Whoops
From the county website, it appears Jayme's parents always paid their property taxes in late December, like clockwork. Doesn't sound like anybody with gambling debts.

This wouldn't really have anything to do with that. FHA and USDA loans that are more common in those areas(nobody has 20% down payment). Those loans require your month mortgage to include funds for your taxes. The lender pays your taxes for you.

People are speculating he opened the door for police and spoke with them. My point is if he is able to do all that, why in the world would he not tell them his daughter had been kidnapped. I found it confusing myself and don't believe it happened that way. That's why I was asking.

Maybe trying to prevent someone from entering. Door kicked in. Father shot.
What if father was the one kicking in the door? Maybe there were multiple perps inside before he arrived home from work. Harming, torturing Jayme and Denise, if they could be heard screaming for help, father would want to get inside as quickly as possible. He is shot as he bursts through door. Possible?

Are we allowed to run with that theory for a bit? It doesn't make sense to me that the dad gets up to answer the door, he's shot and the mother has time to barricade herself in the bathroom with her phone... and somehow, it takes her 20+ minutes to call 911 while barricaded, alone, in the bathroom.

yes I agree with you there is a million things the could have happened, but this is one thing we definitely didn't happen.

If so, why wait hours to put out an alert? It was nearly 5 a.m. before that went out. Why wait nearly 4 hours if they were told this as soon as they arrived?

Very true! But I still do wonder why they said a) she was abducted and b) it was by a stranger
I wouldn't think they would be assuming anything that early in the investigation. Wouldn't they just say BOL for a missing juvenile?? Possibilities would be endless at that stage in the investigation I would think.

I am guessing if they say it appears he opened the door that they discovered him inside the house on the ground. As if he was shot when he went to the door.

Is that typical though? They just discovered 2 homicide victims, that casino is (about) 20 miles west. Just procedure in case perp left in vehicle? And headed west? And west that far?
I would say so. And to be on the look out for anything suspicious. It is really the first well traffic place heading west. Not much between Barron and there and definitely not in terms of surveillance.

What if the Dad kicked the door in? Maybe a wife's guest or friend and an altercation ensued... or someone was already in the house prior to the dad getting off work.

I imagine the chaos captured in the 911 call took on new significance when they realized someone was missing, especially with 2 homicides in the house.

Yes. I agree now. Looked at transcripts again and it was requested 3 1/2 hours later. Makes sense now. Thanks!
