But if this person who took her wants to be “unnoticed” I’d think they’d go to a larger city where they can hide in plain sight. That’s why I’m pissed that this is buried in the local news.

Understood. I think the issue was using the world "would" when "could" would be accurate. moo

That’s what I’m thinking. They don’t have much and they’re trying to make people believe they have something. Excuse me if I’m repeating what others have said, I’ve been going through this thread and don’t remember everything.

I do wonder if they looked under that porch of theirs. I saw a hole in it and I’m wondering if someone could’ve hidden in there. And how did whoever do this flee? Is that front road the only one that they could’ve driven on w/o leaving tracks?
Additionally:

“Based on the identity of the perpetrator, there are three distinct types of kidnapping: kidnapping by a relative of the victim or "family kidnapping" (49 percent), kidnapping by an acquaintance of the victim or "acquaintance kidnapping" (27 percent), and kidnapping by a stranger to the victim or "stranger kidnapping" (24 percent).“

Child Abduction Facts

——-

“in 76 percent of the murders of an abducted child, the child was murdered within 3 hours of the abduction;

in 89 percent of the cases, the missing child died within 24 hours of disappearing;

“in nearly 60 percent of the cases, more than 2 hours passed between the time someone realized the child was missing and the time police were notified; and
the primary motive for the abductor was sexual assault.81“

THank you. I could not find my link.
He certainly does seem like he's manic and maybe impulsive, too. Jmo

Someone mentioned that perhaps the perp was locked and deadbolted inside the house and Dad came home and kicked door
in when he heard strange man. When he got inside he was stopped by a bullet.

Mom’s phone history may be telling of when Dad got home.

Hey guys this is my first post. I read in the last thread or so that many people were confused about why she may have switched schools to be with her caregiver. I would like to give my insight and opinion on that

As a 20 year old female, i can relate to jayme a lot. The way people have described her reminds me a lot of myself. Shy and quiet, yet sweet and thoughtful. Around Jaymes age is when I started to develop anxiety, and i believe thay contributed a lot of be being pretty shy. Anyways, as i was a shy girl, i was a pretty easy target when it came to bullying. Due to all the bullying and anxiety i was going through at school, i used to beg my mom to switch schools. We couldn’t afford a private school and I couldnt go to another public school unless i lived in that town or school district. My parents were divorced, and my dad lived in another town. Luckily because of my dad, i was able to transfer schools to the town he lived in, even though he did not have custody of me at the time.

So i was possibly thinking that she might of wanted to switch schools possibly to bullying? Especially around jaymes age is where bullying is at its highest, in my personal experience. And because she had a caregiver that lived in another school district, they used that as a reason to switch to a different school district. Another possible reason she could have a caregiver is if she has anxiety. However i could be completely wrong on all of this.

Welcome, ashley smith! I'm sorry you were bullied. Great first post. I can see that possibility!

Could this be a case of mistaken identity? Could the killers have gone to the wrong house?

I’m worried that as more time goes on, Jayme will be found deceased and there will be zero answers.
my issue with this is why take Jayme elsewhere? if it's mistaken identity/wrong house, they wouldn't be expecting a 13 year old there. to be quite honest, i can't imagine a criminal wanting to take a 13 yo if they weren't prepared to. even if let's say they weren't expecting 13 yo but they were also a pedophile and it became a crime of opportunity, i could see killing the parents, assaulting her, and then killing her. but removing her from the home just makes things so much more complicated and prolongs the crime. if it's random or a mistake, kill all the victims and leave them there to be done with it. I don't believe at all that this was either random or a mistake. Jayme being taken could still be secondary - like with Ashley Freeman/Lauria Bible the perps initially went there because of Danny Freeman, but they were still familiar with the family to know that Ashley could be there, and did take her and her friend after killing Kathy and Danny.

As of right now I believe that whoever went there that night knew Jayme was going to be there and that was either their main motive or was something they were at least prepared to deal with.

Sorry if repost, doing my best to stay caught up:

Mother of missing Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs was 'family angel'; 'no clue' who killed couple, relative says

“The relative says Denise Closs was very close to her relatives and has been described as “the family’s angel ... she would take vacation days if you needed help.”

The family member acknowledges the rampant rumors surrounding the double murder and 13-year-old Jayme's disappearance. Some people online and also folks in the Closses’ hometown of Barron, Wisconsin, have speculated that Jayme might have had a boyfriend or met someone who took advantage of her and killed her parents.

“It’s a tough pill to swallow. We’re not ruling anything out,” the family member said.”

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with bullying/anxiety. Welcome to WS and thank you - great 1st post:)

I'm 45 minutes from Barron. Sadly meth is very bad around here and home invasions do happen. In fact, there was one in Dec, 2017 in Barron. The 4 guys were caught and arrested though so not related. I'm torn between this being something related to the father and work or some druggie hitting the wrong house.

Why take Jayme? She is missing, but are they positive she was taken? Could she have been wounded, escaped somewhere into the woods to hide and later passed from her injuries? I know LE responded quick, but if I was a scared 13 year old girl running and hiding from people, I don't think I would respond to people calling for me.

“New 911 logs appear to indicate Denise’s cellphone placed the 911 call and that James Closs answered the door and was the first to be shot to death.

“ADVISED ONE MALE DOWN, MULTIPLE ROUNDS SPENT. REQUESTED THAT ADMIN BE NOTIFIED,” the 911 call logs read around 1:04 a.m.

Then at 1:05 a.m.,

“ADVISED THE DOOR HAS BEEN KICKED IN. ADVISED THAT THE MALE WHO IS DOWN HAD ANSWERED THE DOOR. UNKNOWN IF ANYONE IS MISSING.

Police say responding officers made it to the Closs house in about four minutes.

“ADVISED TWO SUBJECTS DOWN,” at 1:08 a.m.“

(Meth is a serious problem in N-Western WI, it could have ties)
IMO Meth is a problem everywhere, in every city across the US. It definitely could be drug related but I don’t think someone high on meth would be able to pull this of; leave few clues behind and disappear within minutes with a 13 yr old girl.

Could it be that the perps were hired to kill and got the wrong address/wrong house and they took Jayme because she was a surprise and they didn't know what to do at that point. No wants to shoot a kid. That's not part of the plan. I read an article that wasn't in the paper there recently that meth was bad in that area. It's just another option to consider. Maybe an unsettled drug debt but got the wrong people.

Certainly has been NO indication the parents might have been involved w/ illegal drugs. As for hired assassins, I'm going to discount that one as well due to the loud gunshots and potentially hanging around for 20 mins or more. (edit: spelling)

I am new here. And trying to be objective and withhold much as not to cause drama. I firmly feel Dad walked into a home invasion. He was shot upon arrival. I also firmly believe the 911 call happened from mom of even Jayme. They were protecting eachother. I do not agree there is any motive on victims part. Except they were there. I personally feel someone that is known not to family but LE that worked at the casino has much information. <modsnip - rumor>

I was just kicking thoughts around. Which was why I also said whoever took her has some sort of misplaced “love” for her and they care about her.

I have my theory of what may or may not have happened, and I believe others have the same theory. Meth or other drugs, gambling, and sex trafficking isnt on the top of my list.

It wasnt even mentioned? Maybe its too far away to be "local." Has it been on any of the major networks?
