Shouldn't cell towers know every pinging phone even if you dont know the number you want to check for?

Like who was pinging here around this time? Bam.

Shouldn't it be that easy by now? Like a cell tower dump or something?

If planned in advance, they probably just used burners. May have been what they were, in part, searching for during the searches.

I don’t think it’s going to be possible for you, me, or most of us here to see through the eyes of somebody like this and make sense of their thoughts. As much as we try to make sense of it all, we’re just not wired that way.

To be more direct than I’m comfortable with, just shooting her and leaving is too merciful for this person. This whole scene is about unspeakable horror and I don’t think we know the half of it.

You’re right. We can’t get inside his head.

In cases like this, I look to similar cases in order to form an understanding of what may have happened. Unfortunately, there are too many unknowns here, and there aren’t many cases like this one.

It also doesn’t explain why there hasn’t been a break yet, if the killer is that close to home.

True. However, looking at the timeline of the police getting there, and there being the possibility of a suicide on LE's mind, they want in there ASAP. What if they kicked in the door because they thought there was a suicidal person inside? Just a thought.

I was just talking to my favorite go-to all around brainiac about this case. I just gave them the bare bones overview, and their immediate response to the "why" was gambling debt. I had *not* told them Jayme's family home was close to a casino, so this gave me goose bumps. Their backup theory was a disgruntled employee.

I find the gambling theory interesting, and wonder if this has any possibility?

There is nothing to indicate they were gamblers or had financial issues.

The danger with rewards is that they tend to bring in useless and false tips.

There is always time to offer a reward, as money always “talks.”

I do think we’ll have a reward at some point though.

So true. The massive reward for Mollie Tibbetts did little more than overwhelm the investigation.

IMO the only situation where a sizable reward is going to turn the tide is when you’ve got somebody holding back info because they’re involved in some capacity with the perps. Maybe a big reward is enough incentive to get e them to flip.

That would appear in the call log if that was the case. The door being kicked in, and police kicking the door in, are obviously two very different things.

They wouldn’t make this mistake.

But if both parents are dead, there's no one to pay back the debt? Do they think Jayme is being held for ransom from extended family?

If they knew 911 had been contacted (and even otherwise), they might have taken Jayme as insurance on a clean getaway. This is still a main theory I can not diaclude, taking a hostage for insurance.

It made things harder for them though. Now it's a nationwide hunt for/ a very tiny 13 y/o.

I DID however see a girl within a couple years of JC's age on NCMEC that disappeared from Stoughton (2-ish hours away) within five days of this crime... might be worth looking into?

I don't know how the cops would know if it was Jayme's or Denise's voice.

Law enforcement did hear Denise's voice on her voicemail, so they may have used that for comparison. I know when I was 13, my voice was pretty high pitched, especially compared to my Mom's. (To keep it real, it still is.) So, there may have been a pitch difference that made it easy to distinguish.

You would think it would be that easy. Especially in such a ruel area. There wouldn't be that many phones pinging.

I did that young lady is fine and very active on social media. Even her and her friend reference she was reported as missing. She is not in a good place and my heart breaks for that young woman.

Well I don’t know that it would help to solve the case but three things I’d like to know:

1. What evidence do they have that proves she’s in danger (or not involved)?
2. The evidence that proves she was there?
3. What made it a ‘horrific’ crime scene that the responders will have trouble getting over ? (Had to be more than a couple gunshot wounds.)

But it never made sense to me why they would tell the neighbor such important info like that.
