You cannot make this stuff up. free diapers if she refuses to do the *advertiser censored*?
OMG. Then a caller on my radio show said he thinks that the 8 guys in the *advertiser censored* should just use turkey basters.

Later in the day, competing *advertiser censored* company Pink Visual also sent Suleman a letter, promising a full year's worth of diapers if she didn't accept Vivid's offer. "There's a great deal of stigma attached to being a *advertiser censored* star" and Suleman should think "in the best interest of your children," according to the letter obtained by TMZ .

It's very nice that Pink Visual offered Nadya a years worth of diapers and I commend them, I am curious whether or not there is more stigma attached to being a *advertiser censored* star or is there more of a stigma attached to what Nadya's done already? It's getting to look like a no win situation?

O/T but to answer AZwriter's question about my preemie. He was born at 31 weeks. I had placenta abuptio. We were lucky to have him. He required special care for the first year. From ages 2 to 4 he got developmental therapies. He is now 18, no lingering effects of his prematurity since 1st grade. He graduates this spring and has been accepted into University of North Texas, he will major in Education with a Minor in Music. He plays all brass instuments (after learning one at age 12, he picked up the others and taught himself) he is first chair for brass section at his HS. He also is in the steel drum band.

Thanks for asking about my pride and joy:)

Wow Kat, he sounds like an amazing young man.

This is such a wonderful follow-up, Kat. Thanks for sharing and good luck to your son as he moves on in life. Sounds like a neat talented kid.

KAt is absolutely correct about the ongoing and overwhelming responsibilty that caring for a preemie after their hospital release means to most caring parents. Its a tremendous burden for a couple with one preemie and depending on the amount of prematurity and the hurdles those babies encounter in the hospital and long term.. its way more than this woman can handle. My darling little neice was born at 23 weeks.. and while she gives such joy and love the amount of work and care she has required to date is huge.. just doing normal things become much more complicated and challanging because of the long term effects that are from all the surgeries, the therapies, the physical and other limiations she has.. in additon to the monitors etc these babies if they are like my neice will not be able to be in a normal daycare they will require home care due to their immature immune systems. SO even that will not work.. and what daycare can you afford for 8 preemies and 6 older children some with their own challanges..? This woman is so unstable and frankly dangerous to her children.. loving kids and wanting to take care of them doesnt put food on the table, provide the care they need, the specialists and therapists, pay for insurance and meds, a house etc.. especially as she is unemployeed years from a degree and a steady stable job, provide for daycare, a car large enough to take them to daycare, to put gas in the car each day etc. the list can go on forever. She is in no way able t provide for her current children except in her own selfish mind and not with her feet on the ground thinking about what is most important for her kids and putting them first.. instead she is doing interviews, and pampering herself instead of buyng pampers with the money she has recieved to date..
Great post, I totally agree.

opme, that is such a good point about daycare. Not only would it be too costly to pay for daycare for the 8 babies, but what daycare could take 8 babies, even if they were not preemies? Daycares have a set number of babies they can take because of state laws. The daycare where we take Baby Mr. E only takes 5 babies at a time because there is only one person in the baby room. Another daycare we looked at took 10, but there were more people in the baby room.

She's cutting off her nose to spite her face by distancing herself from her mother. She's going to need all the home support she can get. If she's going to even attempt to care for these babies on her own, she's going to need some kind of job, and in order for her to work she's going to need someone at home to take care of the babies.

And I'm not even thinking of the 6 older ones. Crap, it's too much to wrap my mind around! People like the Duggars can do it because the have older kids to help with younger ones. In one recent episode of the Duggars, Michelle said she's been harried lately because she has so many little boys, 5 or something. Octomom would have 14 little ones! I just don't get how she thinks she's going to do it. Has she said anything real, other than the "let go and accept help" crap she spouted earlier?

Ty AZwriter :blowkiss:

I was just trying to illustrate that once we get over the shock of the sensationlism of this woman and these babies there is such a responsibility to these 8 newborns.

Not only that, but she also has 3 other special needs children. For a total of 11 that will need special care in varying degrees. Add to that 3 other children who by right of birth deserve attention, care, and their physical needs met.

Now, from my experience one with premmie, required me to be "on point" all day and night. I had to be commited to my son's health and his needs 24 hours a day. It required complete focus, complete consistancy and I had help so I could at least get a few hours sleep in the beginning. Trained help, even if they were fellow family members.

I was lucky. Extraordinarily lucky in that my son did not have long lasting challanges after the age of 4.

As opme shared, these children can have many challanges medically. If any of these 8, have the common disabilities that can plague premmies (CP, lifetime cognitive problems, other physical challanges) then, IMHO those children deserve to be supported in order to achieve the full scope of their abilities within their disabilities. That is a LOT of work for one child, much less 11 children.

So how does one woman do this? She can't.

And some child protective services in CA should take custody of these children. The taxpayers in CA will be supporting this family for the next 18 years anyway; she shouldn't be able to make money with them too. Total selfishness on her part and now the media is assisting her making these children a circus. The infertility doctor should be investigated too.

Bolded by me... Ummmm this let go of control and accept help?? Yeah right. She's been offered the most amazing offer of having nurses 24/7 help her and she was smug about that, stating they just want publicity. :shocked2:

yah, pubilicity via the most hated woman in America? Most non-profit societies would rather tape their mouths closed than to admit they offered help to her. I really pray this Octob*tch loses her kids - ALL OF THEM. This is not a mother in my books.

I watched the last 1/2 of Dr Phil this AM- comes on at 9AM here- And he is very smug about the fact that he gets her to admit that having even 1 more child was not a good decision. TG he didn't offer to pay off her student loans, buy her a house, etc-

But of course he has a link on his website for anyone who wants to donate to her children.

BLECH!

Yes, CA taxpayers will be paying for these children for the next 18 yrs.

I think in this case we need this to go before family court. The needs of these 14 children needs to be weighed and evaluated by a judge. Impartial to anyone except to the welfare and health of these 14 children.

This is a mess, for these children. I don't doubt that they will be eventually removed from their Mother's custody. It's heartbreaking to know that they more than likely will be split up. But when faced with the option of having them healthy, well cared for and a higher chance to survive to adulthood or leaving them together with their mother. Seperation would be a neccesary evil and the onus of the consequences of that heartbreak for those children should lie completely on the shoulders of their irresponsible , selfish, self-serving Mother.

Isn't a 2nd part coming on later? I only saw a 3 minute clip where, like I said, Dr. Phil looked dumbfounded... I'd love to see the whole show. Please tell me Dr. Phil, at least, gave her a good reality check.

can you post the link? I can't find where he has put up a link to donate to her children. thanks

Myself, can't stand to watch any interviews with this woman, would rather hear / read the breakdowns at WS instead. I did read on Dr. Phil website a blurb about her calling him in a panic, stating

"She sounded panicked. She admitted that she is a procrastinator and said, and I quote, ‘Reality is hitting me.’ She said because the babies have been cared for by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), she feels like she’s kind of been on a temporary vacation because all these nurses were doing such wonderful work."

VACATION? OMG :furious: VACATION? You have 6 children at HOME !!!!!!!! There's no such thing as VACATION! This $*&#^# should have been back and forth from hospital to caring for her current 6 other kids, and back to hospital. She feels like she's on vacation. I honestly have prayed to our Lord that the right thing will happen and she will NOT get these children. It's disgusting.

I can't think of 1 ONE mom in my life that left the hospital without their baby / babies (babies left in neonatal care) that EVER stated they felt like they were on VACATION. They were full of tears and anguish and worried. All the NORMAL emotions of a REAL mother. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I want to scream in her face to grow up, go get mental help and actually attempt to be some form of a mother!

He may not put it up till later, since in most markets it hasn't aired yet. I don't know how to post links either, it is just what I heard when I tuned into the last 1/2 of the show. He did try to give her a reality check, but she just talks and talks- I still don't think she gets it, just said what he wanted to hear-

JMO, tho

Please watch this video.

Kat - UNT near me?

Yup the one and the same SallyLu! He will be going there in the fall. Unfortunately, we will be moving further southwest at the same time. We are headed down to Fort Bliss for 10 months. Then who knows? Maybe back here?
