I've always thought they went to the Mansion on Tues while Rebecca was gone. Who knows, maybe that is how "The Maid" got there too.

SDSO never bothered to check the most obvious POIs in their months long investigation. It's amazing that all of this could be put to rest if they had. Instead the Z family had had to go to extraordinary lengths to find out the truth.

ALWAYS MOO

I'm not very optimistic this latest lawsuit will proceed. The opportunities were lost a long time ago when Anne Bremner was the Attorney and time to file lawsuit vs Gore/SD Sheriff's expired. We have all been "duped" by the Suicide Conspirators that control / influence SD Sheriff investigation, SD Mayor as well as CA State Attorney General Kamala Harris.
We will never see JUSTICE and TRUTH in this case in our lifetime until someone decades later writes a book or a movie is done about the Coronado Charade......

SERPICO Those are heavy and depressing thoughts to ponder, much less accept. I'm going to remain optimistic.... as I can remember a time, when the testing of blood type was replaced by the sophistication of DNA, to help solve crimes.
Loose lips, sink ships......all it takes is for someone to decide to cut a deal....and it won't be about money, then.
BTW good to see you again!

I hope you are wrong Serpico, is all I can add.

I have formed my sobering opinion from these observations:

1).Sheriff Gore - a SD native with a father and brother that worked for SD PD and another brother that was in the SD Sheriff's
department. Gore had a checkered career by most impartial observers given his decisions at Ruby Ridge and his Terrorist Reports
to the Senate that later came under fire after 9/11.
Gore maintains in his SD Sheriff's Bio that he played a significant role in establishing the SD Regional Computer Forensics Lab, the first
in the U.S. This is interesting because former 2 term SD DA Paul Pfingst makes a similar claim. Also, during Pfingst's 8 years as
SD DA .....his Deputy Assistant DA was Greg Thompson who remains a close friend according to a SD article that was written in 2010.
Pfingst's 3rd term was narrowly defeated by Superior Judge Bonnie Dumanis in 2002. Dumanis took office in 2003, Pfingst went into
private law practice and Greg Thompson was appointed Director of this new Forensics Lab in January 2003. Thompson was in charge of a staff of 60 forensic scientists and field evidence technicians. Thompson held that position until 2010 or early 2011 when he named
Senior Policy Advisor for the Sheriff.
Gore's handling of the RZ Case was manipulative and misleading to the media/public and at times just plain untruthful. He often said he
conducted a full investigation and didn't form his opinion until just before his phony Press Conference on Sept.2,2011....Friday - Labor Day weekend. The FACTS tell a different story....Gore made his decision early on - possibly days after his department took over from the Coronado PD. This investigation was actually quite elementary after a few days......evidence that suggested Homicide = dismissed
evidence to support Suicide = tagged, docked, recorded and later used to SUPPORT Gore's FLAWED "suicide theory."
Gore, to this day, have never proven Suicide......he said that after a "hearsay" phone message at 11:48pm Tuesday night that RZ
received dire news about Max's condition and immediately went about getting a red/orange rope that no one knows where it came from, there were tape residue on her legs but never finding such tape, there is no actual proof that RZ ever heard that 'hearsay"
phone message [later reported to be from Jonah Shacknai],the bizarre message on the door wasn't proven that RZ was the author,
the clump of hair on the wall in the bedroom shower is still unexplained, never apologized to Zahau family for the 13 hour delay by the ME department to humanely take Rebecca's naked battered body from the crime scene nor did he ever explained WHY the delay on a
summer Wed. morning in July of 2011. Of course, the list is long and painful about what Gore DID NOT DO in his full investigation:
a).he never questioned Jonah Shacknai about how could he leave such a dire message about Max on Tuesday night when Dina, the boy's mother, went on National tv shows repeatedly stating that it wasn't until Friday that she knew Max wouldn't make it. Gore never mentioned that he confirmed Jonah's news that Tuesday night from any Rady hospital doctor while both Dina and Jonah were supposedly present.....Dina through the night and Jonah left Rady at midnight.
b).asked Jonah why he would even call RZ at such a late hour when he knew she would come by the next morning with a set a "fresh" clothes as RZ related to sister Mary during their Tuesday night conversations.
c).why there wasn't a documented interview with ADT Security about their Policy at Spreckels Mansion.
d).why Gore didn't insist a 2nd polygraph test for Adam Shacknai as recommended by Paul Redden, the ex detective and now respected
polygrapher.
e).Gore, being untruthful, telling the media/public that Adam Passed his polygraph test when in fact his test results were inconclusive.
f).why Gore didn't further investigate Adam or at least the same as Rebecca....examine his medical history, Ambien history, his girlfriend about his *advertiser censored* activity and if bondage entered their bedroom.
g).never fully explained the 4 separate subgaleal hemorrhages over RZ's skull and numerous abrasions on her back and some on the
back of her arm.
h).why Adam's DNA was never found on the rope that he supposedly cut down RZ atop the 3 legged table.
I).never explained how Adam was able to cut down RZ and both get down from this 3 legged table without Adam sustaining some
cuts or bruises from the fall.
J). never explained how Adam could produce "dirt tracks" inside the Mansion when getting the knife to cut down RZ but there no
such dirt residue on the white table top when Adam was atop trying to dislodge the rope around RZ's neck.
k).there was never an established TIME OF DEATH indicated. The brash ME Jonathan Lucas said at the phony Press Conference it
was likely 3:00am but was never mentioned in his Autopsy Report. Lucas said the time range was between 1-3 am but he used 3:00am
because it supported Gore's suicide theory. Heck, if Lucas said 1:00am there wouldn't be enough time to do all the things Gore said
she did to facilitate this elaborate suicide.
l).never examined when the water sprinklers came on for Adam to have wet feet to produce "dirt tracks."
m).never explained how RZ had both feet so dirty/muddy.
n).never convinced me that RZ wasn't the victim of a brutal physical attack that could've included a sexual assault....the menstral
blood explanation seemed shallow at best with no tampons, etc. found.

2). Greg Thompson - the UNKNOWN FACTOR in this investigation. He was Paul Pfingst's right hand man in the SD DA's for 8
years and was currently Gore's Special Advisor and knew most/all the forensic specialists and field technicians assigned to this Case.
Thompson was a close friend of Pfingst's so it is HIS cell phone records I would like to examine and cross examination Forensic Lab employees and the Director at time if there was any interaction with former boss Thompson between July thru Sept. of 2011.Was he
orchestrating this BIASED [suicide only] investigation with his close friend and Shacknai Attorney providing answers to any "loose"
suicide ends.

3).Paul Pfingst remains a powerful force in SD criminal courts and good friends of Greg Thompson.

4).Bonnie Dumanis never lifted a finger to find answers or conduct a separate investigation. Sheriff Gore had endorsed Dumanis
for nearly a decade so she wasn't apt to interfere with Gore's investigation.

5).California Attorney General Kamala Harris has many detractors. She is more "political" than pursuing legal challenges and is
quick to support "special interest" Groups that are politically active like GLADD and often draws headlines in her support of gay/lesbians rights. The fact that SD Mayor Dumanis was the first openly gay or lesbian DA in the country might explain why
CA DA Harris never lifted a finger either in this Gore investigation. Harris has endorsed Dumanis for DA and recently as Mayor before she was handily defeated. Dumanis has also endorsed Harris in her political campaigns.

THE FIX WAS IN - THERE WAS NO CALIFORNIA AGENCY TO INVESTIGATE GORE's FLAWED/ BIASED INVESTIGATION unless the Justice Department took over.....which never happened. The fact the Zahau family could never cross examine these 5 people and a dozen others like the Romano sisters has led me to this sad and sobering conclusion.

I do think the Zahau family should RELEASE ALL DOCUMENTS/ VIDEO's information that Gore turned over to Anne Bremner over to
the media so everyone at Webslueths can see the Entire Adam Shacknai polygraph test and all the photographs of the crime scene
and bedroom along with detective interviews so the sharp minds at WebSlueths can further put the "pieces to this homicide puzzle'
together. What say you Mary - Doug and family?

Thank you, Serpico. As you say, sad and sobering and it makes me sick to see it all laid out.

And let's not forget that Paul Pfingst was at the crime scene early in the day, behind the crime scene tape.

Serpico, or anyone else who knows....why didn't Anne Bremner take this forward? She seemed so vocal at the time in support of RZ's family's concerns?

I'm still pretty hopeful, Serpico. IMO, the new information released by the Zahau family attorneys - that the clothes Becky wore that day and evening are missing and the use of the tugboat hitch knot - are very significant revelations. Theyre not only indicative of murder, they show that key pieces of evidence were ignored in ruling the death a suicide.

IMO, its going to be difficult for a judge to ignore and a jury certainly won't be fooled. If Becky's family has additional evidence that points to murder, I hope they can bring it forward, though I understand if their counsel requests they keep it confidential for now. There may be a good reason for keeping additional evidence or testimony under wraps. IANAL.

Right now, I'm just looking forward to the depositions and the witness list.

Anne Bremner, in retrospect, FAILED at many levels and her interest seemed more to RAISE $$$$ and take her story to National TV but
ultimately produced very little results. She gave her friend, Ann Rule, access to all the documents that Gore turned over but Rule's book contained
too many factual errors and she NEVER mentions the influence of Greg Thompson and the triangle "web" of Gore - Thompson - Pfingst that controlled the BIASED investigation.
Bremner should've spent more time in SD with investigators and filed a timely lawsuit against Gore whom she clashed with from the get-go. Gore acted like a pompous bully throughout this investigation and after his phony Press Conference that included an unedited video that showed how easy a woman could tie these knots. This was later disputed by several experts on national tv that said the type of knots couldn't have been done by a novice. Gore also failed to mention that the woman in the rope video was a SD Sheriff employee.

Oh BETTYP.....(colorized and bbm) I am so glad you wrote the words above, it is what I felt inside. Serpico's fabulous/accurate summation brings a lot to the table about "incestuous politics", "granting favors" and "looking the other way" at SDSO. In SD, one needs to be prepared to lay down a lot of cash & gold jewelry and a gift card or two will get you some tips about the ugly side of many cases. However, if one is a member of their inner circle, the best currency is "silence and loyalty." I was on an emotional downer, trying to fathom how anyone (especially a court of law) could ignore the pleas of a family in the the pursuit of answers.
One day, the members of SDSO who squashed/slanted/mislead this investigation, will be investigated themselves.....and I hope there are no more GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARDS, left on the table.

Sherlock Holmes noted, “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”

The crime scene technicians collected 10 DNA samples: from the rope used to bind her hands and feet, the rope looped around her neck, the section of rope anchored to a footboard of the guestroom bed, and a small knife next to the bed which may have been used to cut the rope. All the DNA collected was Rebecca’s, and none was from any third party.

The technicians collected a significant number of fingerprints: from the guestroom door entry, the balcony door, the bed leg holding the rope, and from another knife discovered in the guestroom. All these prints were Rebecca’s and none were from a third party.

How could anyone do all this without leaving behind a scintilla of microscopic evidence?

IMHO, this lawsuit will not yield a profit for the Zahau family for the reasons listed above that prove no one was present with RZ in the mansion that evening and all evidence only leads to RZ.

IMVHO it goes to show that people are still watching this case. I know that people love to say that there are a few people that are saying that RZ was murdered, but even if only a few people actually post here, the views of the thread tell you how many people are reading about it.

DeDee No amount of money can bring back a dead person. But, in a civilized society....that is how it works. If the Zahau family sued for 500 hundred dollars, would you still be complaining? Would you be criticizing them for wasting the courts time? How much do you think a plaintiff should request in a wrongful death suit, just curious? I don't see this as a money issue, but as a pursuit of justice denied.

As for only Rebecca's fingerprints being found on the door jamb, door knob, and knife....hmmmm that doesn't bother me, because she wasn't killed by a door jamb, door knob or knife.....Rebecca was strangled and hung. So you know what really interests me? The finding of "mixed D-N-A" on the rope....is far more interesting. I live in a glass house, so I'll be the first to say, "I find the lack of fingerprints about as irrelevant as the location of a pinging cell phone. Rebecca wasn't killed by a cell phone left in a hospital room, either."

Serpico's detailed summation of flaws in the investigation is spot-on:
INCOMPETENCE IS THE TIME HONORED WEAPON OF SABOTAGE.

SDSO didn't even investigate the phone records of Adam Shacknai. Adam, the last person to allegedly have seen Rebecca alive. Adam, the person who allegedly found Rebecca hanging. Adam, the person who was given a polygraph ending with inconclusive results. Adam, the person who notified his brother that morning via a text message that Rebecca had killed herself.

SDSO didn't even investigate the phone records of Nina Romano. Nina, the person who admitted to texting and calling Rebecca because she desperately wanted to talk that Tuesday night. Nina, after failing to reach Rebecca via phone admitted to walking to mansion because she had questions for Rebecca. Nina, another person who was asked to take a polygraph cancelled it the next day with no follow up by the investigators.

Yep, this was a thorough investigation...NOT!

Mixed DNA ‘all over’ Zahau death scene; some evidence not tested

Nov 17, 2011

CORONADO, Calif. (CBS 8) - Sheriff investigators confirmed Wednesday the presence of unidentified, mixed DNA samples found at Coronado's Spreckels mansion where Rebecca Zahau, 32, was reportedly found hanged to death.

"We have mixed DNA in this case all over, in things like the knife, the bed frame, black gloves," said Bremner on the syndicated television talk show. "Mixed DNA unexplained as to who these other donors are."

"It's a case that just cries out for answers and investigation. We have mixed DNA in her fingernails," the Seattle-based attorney said.
