News media confirmed it was investigators that created the large cross of rocks where Gabby was found. Her father just mad a smaller one as well.

The first reporter who found and tweeted about it prematurely said it was made by investigators but later deleted the tweet. By then media already caught wind of it so IMO there’s still a chance it wasn’t made by them. Wouldn’t it technically be a disturbing of the crime scene for investigators to have done it? I personally believe the cross was already there and IMO, made by Brian.

Good catch. NBC reports that when the parents left for the 2nd time this AM (after returning the Mustang) they were followed by a caravan of unmarked police cars.

Question - the manager of the Mexican restaurant said there was no video footage of the incident with BL on 8/27…I have not been to Jackson WY , but isn’t the restaurant located on a public square or Main Street where there are street cameras? if so, wondering if LE has looked at those ???

that preserve is enormous compared to our little local one and finding anyone in there is very difficult. LE has outright said it’s like finding a needle in haystack.
LE couldn’t find the little Anthony girl when she was dumped close to home.
Given, he has wilderness living skills and know the preserve, it would be a good place to off self. Of course , he could be gone elsewhere. With other friends sbd family, or on the lam. FBI likely going through contacts; I certainly would. Not like just anyone would shelter him.

Good morning everyone, while the thread was down I had a few random thoughts from posts and in general.
1- parents being charged with accessory after the fact - it is entirely possible. Example being YESTERDAY the judge ruling that the case can move forward against Ruben Flores in Felony Charges when it comes to his part in the disappearance of Kristin Smart.

2- Camper - the neighbor notes this is a NEW camper. So is it possible that once BL calls or comes home they THEN purchase the camper with plans for this trip to happen before anyone can report Gabby missing? I'm curious when it was purchased, when it arrived at the house and I am hoping that while so many resources are at the CR, that someone is behind the scenes asking all of this small questions to piece the little things together. What did they say when they purchased the camper? Also, if this was a weekend getaway, did the sister know they went?

3-Cargo bag- I really do wonder if this is in the LE inventory. Is it possible that it was the point of the camping trip? Dispose of it and anything else that would connect BL to Gabby's murder. ie Clothes, possible weapon, etc

4-Aggression towards women - I really have a sneaking suspicion that this is a learned behavior from home. I wonder what others would say if they asked what the relationship was like between BL's parents. I don't think if he was a "mommys boy" as everyone thinks that he would be this aggressive to all women. This may also explain how CL is essentially locked out of the "family secrets." I could be way off base, but this aggression towards women doesn't mesh with me the same as someone who is a "momma's boy"

5- Last known sighting - I haven't seen a thing about him being sighted since the camper trip- has he been gone since then? I am thinking someone has to scouring over the hwy cams & plate readers. Where did the camper go, where have all vehicles been, etc. To this point as well, do we know if his scent was actually found at CR - how long prior could it be "planted" for him to have been there? Could the parents have "planted" his scent for him with items of his when they moved the mustang to the CR and back to make it appear as if he was there at some point?

The questions just keep piling up while the answers don't seem to be anywhere - same with BL.

I'm curious what a psychologist would think about this?
My amateur guess is learned behavior from the Mother. Either the Mother was too controlling, smothering, and coddled them. No consequences for being violent to little girls, and eventually women. An absent, submissive, and/or overcontrolling abusive Father.
Jealous mothers who think bad girls deserve to be punished for not worshiping, caretaking their son, and defying or rejecting him. An independent ten/ young woman would push the mother and son's buttons for complete control.

I have not found any instance of friends or relatives of the Laundrie family providing positive or negative comments. Is it just radio silence or were these people loners? I think some insight from people close to them may explain their and their sons behavior.

How was he supposed to act? Could you imagine if he did not act normally? Acting normally is what the lawyer likely told him and parents to do. Probably favorable to him.

They had ONE job to do...maybe they need to hire retired couples to watch houses. I know members of Websleuths could do a great job.

This statement nails it. My Mother is 71 and NOTHING gets by her in our neighborhood. She knows who is coming and going by the sound of the car driving by her house. I am new to Websleuths, but I have been a crime junkie for years. If you turn my television on, it's on ID channel. I have never been so impressed with anything as I have Websleuths. This is AMAZING. No need for the FBI when you have Websleuths. If the members of Websleuths had the equipment and time, BL would have been found. You guys are amazing and never stop! This is the first thing I look at in the morning and last thing I look at before I go to sleep. My daughter is Gabby's age, so this has gripped me. I cried when S&R found her.

There was a case near me where a baby was found dead <modsnip to “under suspicious circumstances”>. The father of the baby, who was on Meth, tried to run. He had to turn himself in because he had nowhere to go. Not one single person would help him. Everyone turned him away, including other Meth users. So, I feel like Brian will only have support from his parents. I don't think anyone would give him food, shelter or assistance of any kind. He and his parents are on their own. IMO

I agree they are on their own in this. BL is not a survivalist in the true meaning of the term. He has had a life of all the creature comforts of a roof over his head, food, and a bed to sleep in.

If he is still alive and missing those comforts, he will eventually come out of hiding. I would like to think the assistance of his parents is now over and that authorities are closely monitoring everything they are doing now.

They technically should be in full cooperation with authorities since they were the one's who reported him 'missing'. IMO

John Walsh is furious because he lived through his 6 year old being beheaded and no one was ever charged with his murder due to what John believes were police mistakes. I have a hard time criticizing someone who has spent his life fighting for other people's kids.

I don't know how John Walsh can forgive the cops who botched his missing deceased son's case. That was horrific. Le botched it horribly!!!

I agree. You don't park your car at the entrance of a fairly small preserve and then hide there if you are try to evade authorities. Carlton Reserve is 25,000 acres. That's 39 sq miles - or roughly 5 miles x 8 miles. When dry, you can hike that end to end in less than a day. It's not big enough for a person to "disappear". IMO that was a clever ruse.

Hopefully, the FBI is using video cam recordings to backtrack the movement of that camper. Locate where the camper went and they'll find BL.

I take it you mean "plate readers", which apparently are very common in FL possibly because of toll roads." Gator swamp "is a complete ruse created by this <modsnip - vitriolic language> family - it gave Brian 3-4 days more head start. I hope the complete cost of that BS search is put at the Laundries' feet and actions are taken to bankrupt them if they can't pay. The SA may already have this in mind in cahoots with LE.

BL is probably in one of three places based on tthe trip of the Magic Red Truck.

1. Over the Mexican boarder - return trip time 43hrs non stop out of about 70 hrs available. NOt a very nice place to live. Hard to find decent work and always a risk of Texmex bounty hunters hunting you down I guess.

2. Somewhere in the NY area in semi hiding. Clearly the family has connections up there. Perhaps his sleezy NY lawyer's brother wants some pin money and has a spare room. ..who can say ?

3. Over the Canadian border which although it is a civilised place will extradite him to FL at the drop of a hat if he turn up in LE's sights (ie dangerous place for him without friends and good disguise).

Those seem the most obvious places based on a three day say 70 hr trip. (you'd never make the Canada return trip in three days of course).

The Laundries did leave this morning in the red truck. They returned home with the Mustang. And then left again in the truck.

29th August Miranda Baker says she and friend gave Brian Laundrie a lift and he left the vehicle in a very great rush and stressed up.

30th Aug Last text message supposedly sent ex Gabby's phone (the "no service in Yosemite" message)

31st August nothing to report in terms of phone messages.

1St SepT Brian returns to FL with van and licence plate reader spots Van about time he enters Northport FL. Multiple witness statements
from several neighbours have him at the house in very early September. (based on MSM reports).

1st Sept Gabby's phone turns off for the last time.

3rd to 5th Sept approximately, Neighbours witness Laudrie family going on camping trip with New camper. (the Camper top was new , the Dark RED Truck less the camper top had been owned by Mr Laundrie for quite some time. Neighbour cannot remember the exact days it was away.

It appears that this "camper top" was bought late August or early September but I have no hard data on this-it appears to be a VERY recent purchase from witness statements.

10th September : Gabby's mother reaches out to Brian and his mother but with no response.

11 September 2021: Gabby finally reported missing officially to police by her parents.

Footnote : the Coroner / Pathologist has ruled in WY that the death of Gabby Petito of NY is a homicide.
The manner of death as of 24th Sept 21 has not been officially notified. It may not be notified until the offender (s) is apprehended for LE reasons.

Anyone think STAN was code to her mother?
