This is encouraging. IMO it shows they're working on things out of the public eye so we shouldn't lose hope!

That's exactly what happened in my case. I always thought I would go for the eyes if this happened to me. But I didn't. I went for the source of the problem - his hands around my neck. It's pretty instinctive. In the process of trying to pry under his fingers, I put deep gouges in my own neck with my own nails. He did have some scratches on the backs of his hands and wrists, but most of the skin under my nails (numerous of which were broken) was my own.

Of course, the advantage in my case was that the injuries were fresh and forensically examined within a couple of hours. So were his. I'm not sure how much information they can get when someone has been in the elements and decomposing for 3-4 weeks. It might not be much. jmo

Since you asked ... the chopper news footage cut out swiftly right before she can be seen.

But the black tarp is covering her , and part of a red shirt can be seen in the second time stamp.

It was inconclusive to me but that's fine --it's bad enough the poi who may have ended her life didn't show the decency and respect to bury her !

Sorry about the graininess of the video, but the news crew were taking a brief flyover and it has been edited, thankfully.
It's enough to show the utter disregard.
I think the prosecutor will have a strong case !

She wasn't covered her very well, but left in the elements.

Someone said the black blanket may be the tarp that was on top of the van folded up in the drone video ?
I'm not sure so will have to go and check.

I'm not sure why but I clearly see a man wearing black bending over her in that video. That is the same video that is still up on Youtube from Channel5 and they (reportedly) removed the part of the video where she can be seen in the open, they edited it out, so that is not actually a tarp covering her body, that is a person bending over her body and looking at what they found, or at least that is what I see.
The feet in the video belong to the man bending over her. You can see his arm on the left side of his body. So I don't believe that is a tarp at all. At least that is what I see. There is another even more clear video of the same scene on YT and it contains the same edits.
Now that people have talked about the their tent being orange, that might be part of the orange in the video. Or maybe they had an orange sleeping pad?

I think Gabby's last texts to her mom are going to be very revealing in this case, when BL is caught and charged. Something was going on, clearly LE doesn't want it discussed, at that time and it's important. BL knows and Gabby's mom knows.

I, also, am curious about GP's texts and calls to her mom during and after the Moab police incident. I keep wondering what she told her mom in the call from the police car, and what her mom said to her. It would be interesting to know if GP told her the truth about what all had been occurring in regard to partner abuse and DV, or if she even minimized it and covered for BL during a tearful call to her mom. I wonder what her mother said to her, if GP was forthcoming with accurate information about how toxic and violent the relationship had become. Furthermore, I wonder about all those calls and texts from Grandfather "Stan" that were "missed," per the text sent on 8/27 to NS. Did NS share information about GP's and BL's distressing situation with Stan? Maybe Stan was calling to ask if he could help GP, such as fly out and drive her back to New York? I just keep thinking that if GP truthfully divulged all the details to at least one close family member that someone would have done more than order her a pizza. I am NOT victim-blaming GP or any of her family members! So much information is still unknown! I'm simply speculating about all of the information that has not yet come out, and when it does, how it can potentially be used to educate everybody--police officers, current and potential DV victims, current and potential DV perpetrators, and the family and friends of victims and perpetrators. In other words, all of us! What strikes me about this case is the number of people who either knew, must have known, witnessed, or must have witnessed the various forms of manipulation, abuse, violence, dysfunction and toxicity between GP and BL on numerous occasions, yet nothing or no one was successful in preventing GP's murder. So many lessons to be learned from this high-profile, well-documented case. I really hope that it will be used to educate all of us so that fewer people will suffer GP's fate. All speculation; all MOO.

I think he packed it up and stashed, hid or burned it on his "hike" to colter Bay village....reportedly, when he was picked up hitchhiking back to the campground, he had a back pack which didn't seem particularly full and claimed to have a tarp- but not much equipment for 2 or 3 days hiking and camping in the wilderness. jmo

Yes. And if we watch the footage longer, search & rescue dudes turn and walk away from the tent & black/orange thing... toward the upper left part of the screen.

The entire footage is from different angles at different times so I had to use the dude in the yellow jacket as my fairly stationary point to figure out where they were walking towards.

There is a part of the footage where the heli cuts away and goes directly to the dudes on horses crossing water. That is where they edited the footage, imo, to leave her body out. I believe her body, at that moment of the footage, before cutting away, was in the upper right of our screen, prior to editing.

Attached are screenshots of the footage in sequence with red circles indicating where Gabby's remains actually are, imo.
Remember The dude in the yellow jacket is our stationary point.
I've marked red circles to indicate where I believe the area of Gabby's remains were.

Later in the footage, notice they all start walking away from the tent & that orange & black thing, toward where I believe Gabby's remains are. (Inside the red circle)

I could be totally off so thoughts and opinions are welcome.

thanks for that! i agree, especially since they are all moving in the same direction in unison...and at the end of the video, it appears to me that the orange and black thing is some sort of bag...as others have posted, maybe it's LE equipment/supplies...moo

IMO she ran away from him barefoot. Maybe he wanted to make it seem as though she had just taken off her shoes. That whole scene is staged IMO.

I think it’s going to be massive undertaking of course, it’s also why I think they haven’t said he’s anything more than a POI because they want to gather everything they can. Currently he’s the only POI and I think that speaks a lot. I’m from the uk and we don’t have the death penalty only whole life terms for the seriously wicked (but that’s another debate) I don’t believe in it personally, I think the greatest punishment for BL would be to be confined away from nature for the rest of his life MOO.
I hope they gather so much evidence it’s a slam dunk because if he’s found not guilty and he does it again (which has happened in other cases because they know they can get away with it) there would be an uproar. All MOO

I can see what your seeing in the picture. I also can see, at the 3 second mark of the chopper video, a pair of legs. And then it cuts to another scene. Maybe I'm nuts. But I agree with another poster that the site where I saw what looked like legs. Isn't the site where the cross was laid by her 2 dads.

I believe (MOO) that at the 1:15 mark in the attached KSL TV video (pretty high quality) the officials start walking toward the location of the remains. As for the black thing with something orange under/beside it, I don't think they would be standing around so close to it and behaving that way if it were the remains. Also, I don't see anything that looks like remains in this video.

Since BL and his parents gathered the grandchildren from school on the same day that he arrived home and took them to his sister's house to surprise her ~ It seems she would have noticed if he had any injuries. Seems like that should have raised some suspicions and questions from her and the entire family. "What happened to you, Brian?"
1. Gabby didn't fight and he had no injuries?
2. Gabby fought but the injuries were already healed?
3. Gabby fought for her life and left obvious injuries but no one asked him about them?
4. Or, "What happened to you, Brian?" and the family either believed a tall tale or helped him make a plan?

For a while I doubted the date he disappeared (both the Sept 13 & 14 versions). I had thought perhaps he took off on the 6th from DeSoto. However, given what we know about the cause of death, I now think he likely did leave the house on or around Sept 13. I think he arrived home with cuts & bruises & was hiding until those resolved.

I think that's why he wouldn't speak to the police when they visited re the missing person report, nor give them the keys to take the van (so they had to tow it). He must not have had severe marks on his face, or the people who gave him rides likely would have noticed it. But I think he had marks on his arms & hands. Which I feel the parents likely saw. Which in turn is a good explanation for the silence & lawyering up. (I don't mean silence to media or the public, as we're not owed that; I'm talking about Gabby's family & LE.)

But maybe they argued, he left/hitchhiked, got madder & madder, returned, found her peacefully focused, editing SM. They begin arguing all over again- taking up right where they left off, heated & escalating, then he strangles her & heads straight back to FL. This would explain why no one in WY saw scratches. I wonder if FBI has visual from his ATM withdrawal in Benton, IL. This might be the only close-up view if he did have scratches on his face.

Then again, maybe he pinned her arms down with his legs while he strangled her & there never were marks. Very interested in that ATM image from IL. Imo

Oh that's definitely interesting, I hadn't thought it about the timeline from that POV. I had been locked into thinking he was hitchhiking for an alibi, but you're right, that could have come first. That's definitely worth thinking about...
