And to add, LE would not be huddled around remains as to not disturb possible evidence (foot/tire prints, etc.) IIRC when footage was aired, it seems to cut away during a shot further from where the tent was set up.I can almost guarantee that no law enforcement or official searcher covered her up. That would be a huge no-no.
They would have stayed back until the crime scene specialists gathered every bit of evidence they needed. Pictures and video would be taken of the crime scene, exactly as it was found from every imaginable angle. Her body would’ve been very carefully bagged to preserve trace evidence.
A blanket laid on top of the body would open the door for any defense lawyer to have trace evidence thrown out due to contamination of the crime scene.
