I can almost guarantee that no law enforcement or official searcher covered her up. That would be a huge no-no.

They would have stayed back until the crime scene specialists gathered every bit of evidence they needed. Pictures and video would be taken of the crime scene, exactly as it was found from every imaginable angle. Her body would’ve been very carefully bagged to preserve trace evidence.

A blanket laid on top of the body would open the door for any defense lawyer to have trace evidence thrown out due to contamination of the crime scene.

And to add, LE would not be huddled around remains as to not disturb possible evidence (foot/tire prints, etc.) IIRC when footage was aired, it seems to cut away during a shot further from where the tent was set up.

The area is bare and a sad place if it's where Gabby left this earth.

Poor young woman, I too have been shouted at and pushed via my jaw/face. I hope her belongings get found and returned to her loving family. From what Gabbies childhood friend/ boyfriend said she kept a journal that had drawings that expressed her feelings hopefully she continued this and they can be found.

I haven't been able to find the original footage - it was cut from what TV station released. I was watching the search live, and I too thought I saw a body with a covering but Seattle1 and others were also watching (pretty sure) and pointed out that the body was in another location when that was seen.

I have no clue whether authorities put a tarp/blanket over her later.

I think I may have set this off earlier when I said I had a screen shot of the black and orange, I’d mentioned that I said it looks like her feet are awkward to my husband at the time (believing they were her remains) and then today the hiking boots news came out and I found It odd that I’d mentioned feet at the time. I’ll share the screen shot since it’s MSM anyway. To me on my screenshot it looks like blonde hair at the top and on top of the orange and then what I thought at the time feet/boots at the bottom. Please scroll on just in case it is her I don’t want to upset anyone, I’m getting a lot of messages and it’s past midnight here so I think it’s best I upload them here. All MOO and from my perspective (I’m not saying either way if it is or isn’t) I’m probably just seeing things.

I think LE have the evidence they need, thankfully.

I wonder if anyone can advise on a question I've had circling in my head..

Will the fact that GB and BL were a couple - and traveling together in a confined space - have any bearing on the validity of DNA evidence (as far as it being incriminating)?

For example, would a Defence Attorney just say,

"Well, of course Brian's DNA was on her body/clothing etc - they were boyfriend and girlfriend!"

Is it going to be difficult for the prosecution to prove that evidence of DNA is over and above any that would be found 'natually' due to the fact they were a couple? How would they differentiate?

Regular DNA from living with someone is different than having say, curled bits of skin under the nails which they would expect to find in these self defence cases.

This tragedy hits particularly hard because Both Gabby and BL seemed so very normal and jus not the sort to be finding themselves in this situation. They were in the middle of a great adventure that many would love to do. They knew each other for a while. Young snd in love, and off to see the US and share the travels with everyone.

Gabby’s father made it clear that the family was fine with her life. BL, his family, the trip. That it went bad like it did was not something they were at all anticipating. Sometimes loved ones are doing things that you just know are not likely to turn into anything good, but not the case here. Everyone here seems to be law abiding , wholesome and happy.

A lot of posts here scrutinizing every little thing just looking for the signs that this was going to happen. The DV stop , a big red flag. BL outright said that they were having difficulties getting along. The show of temper at the Merry Piglet restaurant, showed that again they were not in agreement with things and that both stressed about it.

Still, the very idea that a couple like that would end the relationship with one of them strangled to death is just heart wrenching.

Men are very good actors and them falling for you is intoxicating...then they inexplicably flip. Happened to me several times, now I'm old and jaded. Makes me mad when people say women choose bad men...I say these men are very good actors, they manipulate loving women to get what they want (yes women do it to but in this case the manipulator is a man.)

That black / orange item looks to be a backpack belonging to the search & rescue team.
Compared to the rescue workers standing to the left, to me, it's appears to be the size of a back pack proportionately, not of a body, imo.
I'm pretty sure there are no images / footage of her body online.
KSL TV was super quick to edit that footage before putting out re-runs.
Unless someone was recording that station at that time and has a copy of the original footage, I believe KSL TV, LE, FBI & the coroner are the only ones to have it.

Im sure the defense will try, but IMO most jurors are pretty smart. It’s not going to make sense to many that he left her dead body out there for any reason. It won’t be believable to many that he left her alive and took her car, her money, AND her electronics that found in the van. Nobody trying to make a blog about van life is going to be like, “sure BL, take my van, my money, and most definitely take my computer.” You know? And it won’t make sense why he ran and hid. So the DNA evidence is a tiny fragment of all of the rest of the story.

But it was the area her remains were found, and you may have seen correctly.
The link from thread # 63 is not live footage, so we don't know what it shows for certain.
There are anomalies of clothing that do not look like investigators put it there ?

Thank you, it was just so strange for me today when I’d said her feet
look awkward when the news was broadcast and they found her body and then the hiking boots news came out today, such an odd thing for me to notice at the time of her being found.
I really hope they’ve got enough to charge him when/if that time comes, i want him alive and to face punishment, I go between he’s alive to he’s dead so many times through the day, it’s a yo-yo. I hope he knows the reaction of the world to what he’s done and how disgusting he is. All MOO x

Now a question : would any scratches made by Gabby in her final moments leave a scar or two on Brian ?
