I agree, of BL left her alone when she didn't want to be, it was a crappy thing to do and he is an *advertiser censored**. But she knew how to camp. Why would she need to run around asking for help and borrowing phones? Who was she going to call to help her at Grand Tetons? If this was something he'd done before, maybe she waited it out. Or maybe he threatened her. Again, JS saw him alone in the van on the 26th. Where was GP? It's only conjecture on my part, like everything else.
I think she would run around asking for help because he had all the supplies, her wallet and debit card, her phone and the tent. How is she supposed to survive with out any of their supplies?

Besides, any single woman out there camping alone, with no phone or defensive weapons is a sitting duck. We see that here on this forum every day.

Can I please ask whose Scribd account you are linking and what y’all are seeing there ? All I get is a sign in or create an account screen.
Thanks
Why would there have been an issue with BL talking to LE, if he didn't know where Gabby was? He shouldn't have had anything to fear, unless he had harmed her.

I'd like to know what difference it makes? I know it drives people nuts that some people don't see it but seriously, so what? How does it affect the timeline? Who do people think is the one closing it? Where is the other person of the duo? Why is this such a big deal? jmo
Thanks because this one has gone over my head. Can someone please explain the significance, or implied significance? Does this somehow fill in some missing piece of info we have been seeking? I'm lost on this one.
Thank you!

Maybe he broke her mind and her spirit before he broke her body?
I'm sure she 'knew how to camp' when she was whole.
She was too badly broken at the Moab stop to regenerate before she broke again.
Tears and pleas at the MP, remember? Happy campers don't do tears so easily.

I think we have to think how he was thinking at that chaotic time. Probably not thinking too calmly or logically, esp. at first.

Imagine if you had been in a huge argument with your partner and you got so angry that you killed them, and left them in a field in a National Park? And you know that everyone knows you are on a 2 month road trip with them at the time. Lots of video to prove it too.

How rational would you be? I don't think he was thinking clearly at all. JMO
I totally agree and IMO he has never had to think for himself. He would have been way out of his comfort zone, so he hightailed it back to where that was.

Of course not. I think if he wanted a break, he took it. What choice did she have? Waiting out a day or two at camp is a lot different than being abandoned on the side of the road, though. Moab was different.

We give credit to GP for all the hardworking she did, but can't give her the credit to camp by herself, whether by choice or not?

She clearly told the cops at the Moab stop. "I can't be alone."

She also told them she had really bad anxiety, that she had problems driving the van, or discomfort driving on her own, and she also said "We're a team". So I surmise from that she had a big dependency on BL and he knew it. She did not want to be alone, period. to give her credit would be to acknowledge she really could not be alone at that point.

He was attempting to leave her & her backpack in Moab, and drive off in her home. I can see her fighting to get back into the van & not be abondoned, possibly causing the injuries to his eye.

It sounds like things were very much out of control at that point, and who knows who did what at that particular time. All we know is that Gabby is dead, and Brian is a fugitive.

All true, good post.
I think Gabby was way, way over her head in this situation, and sadly payed the ultimate price; her life. It would seem whatever condition Brian has that requires medication, spun out of control once he left the structure and routine of his parents home. Given all his uncontrolled outbursts, he likely needed medical intervention. Poor dear Gabby. I'm sure she tried her best.

Did he need medication? How would we know that? Wouldn't that be confidential?

I think many of us can agree that the relationship sounded very unhealthy, and must have been since one of them is dead. This will be a useful topic of discussion to help teach young couples preparing for partnership, but right now we need to find the fugitive.

He didn't have the tent or van, only his backpack. For all we know she had full access to the van (even if he took the keys) and camp set up. If I were a single woman, by myself at camp, I'd be leary to walk up to total strangers and announce I was alone.

A thorough autopsy was performed to find the cause of death. It included a full-body CT scan, an exam by a forensic pathologist, an exam by a forensic anthropologist and a toxicology evaluation. Additionally, the FBI sent materials to a forensic ophthalmologist.

"We were waiting for various specialists to come in and help us with this investigation," Blue said when explaining why it took nearly a month for autopsy results, "It was just a matter of making sure we have everything right."

He said the death certificate is not complete at this time. The state of Wyoming allows for approximate dates and variability. "I doubt there will be an exact date of death on the death certificate".

Me neither - he seems to be talking to the LEO on the other side of the van?

IMO he appears “busted”, panicked, flustered… He tries to make it about Gabby (attempting to deflect a direct accusation for which he has no good answer, having seemingly been caught of guard by the cop’s cut-to-the-chase bluntness), but he stumbles over his words/explanation… But lo! A savior! The other officer is back in view out the passenger window! It appears to me that Brian creates a new diversion (Gabby’s behaviors being the first) by engaging this officer in conversation (a most pressing topic, too: have they spoken with Gabby? [What did she say? What do they know?]). It works. The officer with the blunt accusation just walks away.

I was really shocked by how easily Brian played them. Like others here have said: What about the speeding? (Automatic ticket, minimum, for, what was it—45 in a 15?) What about all those injuries—on both? (His explanations about his face made NO SENSE, and his sexual insinuation about the nail marks on his arm should also have been challenged, given the overall context.) IME LE is always skeptical, at least until your behavior AND answers have been analyzed to their satisfaction. One lie or inconsistency, and their questions get harder—not easier. (To be clear: even a PERCEIVED inconsistency has this effect; when I reported a crime that had been committed against me, I was mercilessly interrogated—and I wasn’t even pressing charges!) I just don’t understand how their radar could have been so off here… Maybe Brian has a certain charm that works in person…

This is unpopular, but the only way I can make sense of BL's behavior and hitchhikking and whatnot is that Gabby briefly survived the strangulation. There may have been an argument, he choked her, but she initially survived. He takes off for a couple days with no real plan, but Gabby was not dead when he left. But she was dead when he came back.

There are documented cases where a person survived the acute strangulation, but died hours afterward from delayed complications. Here's an example.

Unexpected delayed death after manual strangulation: need for careful examination in the emergency room - PubMed

As always, mere speculation.
OK, so he strangled her, she wasn't quite dead, and he drove away in her van and left her in the field? IT was said she was partially covered, IIRC. Did he cover her before he left?

We know from this transcript that according to BL, he allegedly saw a doctor. He allegedly was prescribed medication. It is not clear if he actually filled the Rx or took the medication or not at all.

From 2nd MOAB LE Video Cam:

Officer Daniel Robbins: (01:08:31)
Oh I’ve got quite a few. Like I said, my wife has really, really bad, bad anxiety and she takes medication for it daily. And sometimes it’s just not enough. Sometimes it builds up and it happens. I mean…

Brian Laundrie: (01:08:44)
My doctor told me I had anxiety, he prescribed me medication [inaudible 01:08:53] I believed that if I took the medication I might put myself off balance and be more anxious. That’s probably just a part of my anxiety.

Cul-de-sac, I believe, on this ragged road we're all on..
