Sounds like that route would end up being like the recent Maddie Bell case. Which turned out to be a self made(by the girl of the same name) hoax. Laundrie attorney confirms he does not know the current location of Brian Laundrie

Brian Laundrie's attorney has confirmed to Fox News that his client's whereabouts are unknown.

“Be advised that the whereabouts of Brian Laundrie are currently unknown," attorney Steven Bertolino told Fox News. "The FBI is currently at the Laundrie residence removing property to assist in locating Brian. As of now the FBI is looking for both Gabby and Brian.”

He makes it sound like they're both on the run. Man this is really ticking me off!

We've got one person, Gabby who is a victim. And we've got one person Brian who is a on the run, a POI!

On Tuesday afternoon, Bertolino shared the following statement with 2News:

This is understandably an extremely difficult time for both the Petito family and the Laundrie family. It is our understanding that a search has been organized for Miss Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family. On the advice of counsel the Laundrie family is remaining in the background at this juncture and will have no further comment.

On Wednesday, Bertolino released another statement:

Many people are wondering why Mr. Laundrie would not make a statement or speak with law enforcement in the face of Ms. Petito's absence. In my experience, intimate partners are often the first person law enforcement focuses their attention on in cases like this and the warning that 'any statement made will be used against you' is true, regardless of whether my client had anything to do with Ms. Petito's disappearance. As such, on the advice of counsel Mr. Laundrie is not speaking on this matter.

Am I the only one who finds this stunt by BL’s family and attorney completely disrespectful and disgusting? I don’t believe for a second that his family isn’t fully aware of his whereabouts. I’m sure he hasn’t been in that house since she was reported missing. If they aren’t sure where he is it’s because he suddenly stopped talking to them today. But I believe that beyond that they knew where he was up until now. I feel like this is to take the heat off of them and to make his parents look like victims and garner sympathy.

I find it very difficult to believe otherwise

A few random thoughts:

1) BL’s attorney is on my last nerve. The statements he’s releasing are nothing short of disrespectful to Gabby and her family.
2) May be a long shot but has it crossed anyone elses mind that maybe this is all a publicity stunt somehow? it’s just starting to seem completely unbelievable.
3) How do you lose your one/only POI? He should’ve been under 24/7 surveillance.

Really really hoping and praying for a good outcome and happy ending here.

I think the issue is his parents called LE and reported him missing. If he just left and continued refusing to talk, you're right, he has no legal obligation to check in and LE can't do anything about it absent a warrant or court order. But it sounds like BL's parents may be worried about him for whatever reason enough to report him missing.

Perhaps, or maybe since he's gone, and the protesters are getting wilder, they just decided he's had enough of a head start and they want the people to go away.

I don't think BL's been home for some time.

Maybe he snuck out with all of the commotion and attention on the front lawn. Reminds me of the Tara Grant case. When police were at the house serving a search warrant husband left the house without anyone knowing, borrowed a friends car and went on the run. Later called attorney to tell him he was committing suicide (although he did not).

It was preventable. Gabby told her girlfriend that Brian was hearing voices and sometimes could not sleep. Anyone who was aware of those symptoms could have tried to prevent Gabby from going on the road with him. Granted, I don't who besides Gabby and her gf knew about it.

I wanted to comment on this earlier. Guess I wasn't projecting that BL was abusive - this friend confirms that everything I believed plus more is true.

I know that a lot of people are speculating about possible schizophrenia but keep in mind that hallucinations aren't exclusive to that disorder by any means. People with anxiety, bipolar, and even depression can experience hallucinations.
