I'd like the police to confirm they actually saw BL in person. I think I wrongly assumed they did a welfare check at some point even if he refused to speak to them beyond letting them look at his body.
Same - I’m thinking they believed the parents when they said he was there but wouldn’t speak to LE

On Tuesday afternoon, Bertolino shared the following statement with 2News:

This is understandably an extremely difficult time for both the Petito family and the Laundrie family. It is our understanding that a search has been organized for Miss Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family. On the advice of counsel the Laundrie family is remaining in the background at this juncture and will have no further comment.

On Wednesday, Bertolino released another statement:

Many people are wondering why Mr. Laundrie would not make a statement or speak with law enforcement in the face of Ms. Petito's absence. In my experience, intimate partners are often the first person law enforcement focuses their attention on in cases like this and the warning that 'any statement made will be used against you' is true, regardless of whether my client had anything to do with Ms. Petito's disappearance. As such, on the advice of counsel Mr. Laundrie is not speaking on this matter.
Brian Laundrie, fiancé of Gabby Petito, reported missing

He was missing according to them and their now "story". So his statement means nothing then and now. I am so pissed!!

Honestly, them being together right now wouldn’t even surprise me. This whole ordeal has been one plot twist after another.

That sure would be great. <modsnip>

I've suggested that we have no idea where Gabby is, between somewhere out west and the State of Florida. There's nothing to indicate she didn't drive back with him.

Lotta wishful thinking but anything is possible.

Am I the only one who finds this stunt by BL’s family and attorney completely disrespectful and disgusting? I don’t believe for a second that his family isn’t fully aware of his whereabouts. I’m sure he hasn’t been in that house since she was reported missing. If they aren’t sure where he is it’s because he suddenly stopped talking to them today. But I believe that beyond that they knew where he was up until now. I feel like this is to take the heat off of them and to make his parents look like victims and garner sympathy.

I believe they lawyered up and got him out of town before Gabby’s parents even knew she was missing.
Yes and now can conveniently report him missing when he has 3 days head start

Thought about this, too. He's from Long Island. It's the end of the season out there, with school starting up, and kind of becomes a ghost town. If he flew in, he'd have to go through a major NYC airport. But this was probably before he'd become so notorious, as he is now. He could do the drive, it's about 20 hours at most and a straight-shot. There would absolutely be tolls (both EZPass from the north and SunPass from Florida). Now, he's likely to have a SunPass but not an EZPass, either way, his plate would be taken at every toll booth. He'd leave crazy tracks. There is also an Amtrak option, however. And, of course, Greyhound buses. But traveling that way is unlikely unless done way before any of this blew up in the media.

It's not a beach town. Suffolk County is a densely populated area year 'round. I'm very familiar with it. And people in that area are VERY upset. He would not be able to hide there.

In reference to my previous post as to when the the silver mustang appeared and has been parked and not moved in the driveway…

live feed time stamp ca. -2.25

Reporter (Alison) says “two days” so since Wednesday. The parents are reporting Tuesday was the last time they saw him.
