I think "unhinged" might be a bit hyperbolic. :) I think people get passionate about cases and this one is highly unusual since three people are complicit in the events, and that doesn't include all the what ifs surround that stop in Moab. Three adults are actively coordinating in an effort to treat another human being like trash and that's upsetting. It's upsetting when one person kills another, but to have that murderers parents act in such a callous deprived manner as well? It's unconscionable.

Perhaps. But Walsh does appear "unhinged" to me compared to his usual way of behaving when discussing murdered children. For most of us murder isn't something we think about every day. But Walsh has been involved in many cases. While the facts in this one are horrifying, he is still behaving very much out of character. I find it quite odd. But that's JMO.

I hear you, but just look at the picture, it is evident that this stone cross has been there for 1+ weeks at least. It has seen quite some wind and rain. No media speculation is necessary for that conclusion.
To me it looks like it was made after LE left the scene. The sand underneath looks like it had been smoothed over before the rocks were placed there.

If news helicopters had seen that cross I think it would have been reported.

MY unpopular opinion is that NO ONE should be assembling crosses on federal forest land. First of all, it's a religious symbol and secondly, they don't know for sure where she died. The appropriate thing to do is leave the forest as you find it and have a respectful memorial where the family chooses, with the people attending being family and friends. JMO
There’s always exceptions to the rules and this would be one of them. There is plenty of untouched forest left to see. JMO

Maybe. Maybe not. The guy was said to be a loner, no?... and appears to me to embrace minimalism. Some people don't need a lot.

I agree that he was a loaner. Minimalist. He doesn't need anything or anyone.
I've known guys like this that use this parents as ATM's. IMO It shouldn't be confused with "needing mommy and daddy" or being dependent on them.
It's just the easiest and most convenient means to an end.

The Laundries did leave this morning in the red truck. They returned home with the Mustang. And then left again in the truck.

She has more to say @oviedo, I just found this in the SF Chronicle. Sorry, just saw it now! Please add what each she saw day. Thanks!

Schultz said she saw the van on Aug. 26 along with the young man — and saw the van again on the 27th and possibly the 28th without the man or anyone else around it.

for people wondering about the live streams

before midday FL time which is about 1 hour 40 mins from now, WFLA only tends to use their website or app WFLA now

around midday they use their social media channels with JB

its not perfect as something they go live later or a bit earlier but it might help some people

Thank you- I have been waking up early and getting my work done for the day before checking in with JB. I wasn't sure when they usually started. I hope there is progress today.

I have noticed in the posts about flights every day there is a pattern like this. I wonder if there is any way to take them all and overlay them on a map to see if they are continuing to be interested in the same location every single day?? Or is that ridiculous?

That's a very, very good idea because then we can see which spots they are focusing on or if they are covering the entire area. I'd love to see a map with the flight paths in different colors layered but I have no idea how you'd do that.

Is this live? Im not seeing they are live? TFR happened a few days ago as well.

they were talking about it on WFLA the other day when it happened, they said its so they can fly their own drones without interference

BUT normally when i see this done they don't put up the TFR alone they throw up a Geo Fence on FAA website as well

I'm a bit confused by the parents actions this morning. Is it fact that they were followed by a caravan of LE when leaving the second time? That would make it appear that they were in SOME sort of trouble, but that wouldn't make sense as to why they were able to drive their car back to their home themselves, or why they left again in their own car, followed or not. I just can't make sense of it.

For all we know one of them might have had a necessary doctor's appointment or dentist appointment or some other business that they could only take care of by leaving the house.

As I mentioned before, they likely need police protection with all the hype around this case.

Picking up the Mustang was one thing, as they would have been going to police facilities to do that. Anywhere else they need to go, they do not need a huge media convoy following them or any other harrassment.

I have no way to do it.. just have my phone and no computer. But that is a good idea!

I’m 27, so older than these two, and Eminem was before my time. I don’t know anyone who actively listens to Eminem. I bet these two did not even know who Eminem is.
Could just be that they liked the song too? I mean Im sure I have some questionable angry songs on my playlist but would never dream of killing someone MOO

I believe Brian came home Sept 1. and told his parents that Gabby and he had broken up. He had a three day drive to come up with a story. Probably that Gabby took a bus to a friends house or something of that nature. His parents may have thought he seemed off but blamed it on sadness from the break up. They then tried to “cheer him up” with a bike ride and a camping trip. Around the 10th, or a couple of days before, Gabby’s parents start texting Brian. He tells his parents not to answer if they try texting them. His parents start to put pressure on him about where she is. Maybe then he gives another made up story like “I don’t know. She just took off.” They then contact a lawyer for advice. Meanwhile maybe Brian is threatening to hurt himself. He then takes off and the parents are scared he will do something if the police catch ip with him so they wait a couple of days.
Now the police can’t stop looking until they find him or his body. Because they have to be sure he isn’t out there on the run.

Having said all of that….
The second Gabby’s parents started calling I believe the right thing to do would be respond.
I, also as a parent, would be on tv telling my son to turn himself in.

I think what you relate here is entirely possible. Whether we find out that is sequence of events is not certain because only someone who knows, and only attorney, LB and parents know for sure , has to give timing of when parents called attorney and what they knew about BL situation.

I wonder if the key word to understand here is "caravan". Not sure how a news report would use such a word. Is it two vehicles? Is it one hundred vehicles? Caravan surely gets peoples attention more than saying, the Laundrie's were followed to retrieve their vehicle by two law enforcement vehicles to ensure safety.

Moab, UT police are investigating how the DV / 911 call response was handled. Did we know this? CNN was reporting on it a few minutes ago. Perhaps a silver lining here that the police force in that area is getting updated domestic violence response training.

This sounds like a good thing coming out of something so bad.

I know some have been hard on the LE stop video and what went down in it. I too had a hard time with it knowing what I know from my own life experiences.

However I also have a heart and feel all involved in that stop are heartbroken that they didn't have enough information to do something different. That they did the best job they could do with the information they did have.

I hope they are all coping with this emotionally/mentally and are receiving any help they can get if they are struggling with this outcome.

If this is any indication of something good coming out of this, then bless their hearts. I hope this becomes a national campaign for all first responder's who come into DV situations and are better able to handle and cope with these highly volatile situations in the future.
