I just see a grandma who is suffering what looks like a medical episode (?) and grandpa saying about what you'd expect.

Also agree if any case should be a DP case, it's a case like this one.

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a condition where your face, body or both make sudden, irregular movements. You can't control these movements. It can develop as a side effect of medication.

McDougal was arrested and charged with indecency with a child in 2007 in Brazoria County. However, he pleaded the charge down to enticing a child, a third-degree felony, in which he wasn’t required to register as a sex offender.

Thanks to the help of Crime Stoppers of Houston, the family is working alongside State Rep. Trent Ashby to push ‘Audrii’s Law’ or HB 2000.

“Basically, the gist of the bill is anyone that’s convicted of an offense in which there’s a sexual element like a child grooming, which is what State Representative Ashby has filed will be now required to register as a sex offender,” said Andy Kahn of Crime Stoppers of Houston. “But the important thing is what can we do to prevent this from happening in the future and keep more Audrii Cunningham’s from happening and passing this law, Audrey’s law, will do that.”

A new state law in Audrii’s name aimed at closing loopholes in cases like McDougal’s went into effect on Sept. 1.

The new law adds child grooming to the list of crimes that require registration and mandates criminals register regardless of a plea deal.

Advocates at centers like ChildSafe in San Antonio are applauding the law. They said it is crucial the community know about the different types and levels of child abuse.
...
Audrii’s family isn’t stopping here. They said they want similar laws passed in every single state nationwide.

Help me understand - I'm not seeing where Audrii's Law would have helped in this instance. "Enticing a child" has no sexual element to it. The Texas law mostly talks about trying to interfere with lawful custody of a child. Would that now be considered child grooming?

If he had pled guilty to the original charges of "attempted indecency with a child," he would have been on the S/O registry for sure.

His rap sheet for the past 15 years is insane, that alone should have put him away for decades, I just wish it happened before he could have harmed another person.
