OK - we know so little about the other lawyer from JB's firm who is on the case. Not 100% sure my recall is accurate, but I believe his surname is Garcia? What do we know about him?

The reason I ask is that I still believe that JB will be suspended or disbarred based on Judge Strickland's complaint, but JB will still need someone from his office in a co-counsel chair do to the financial intricacies - yes?

I know someone who knows him. I was told that the other Jose is "good" but I was under the impression he was also a young lawyer still fresh out of school (in other words I doubt he is DP qualified either). But I will inquire.

His name is Jose Luis Garcia

As Barry University was finally accredited like two or three years ago, I doubt Garcia has managed to make it up to full DP qualifications in a few years but I could be wrong. However, I have heard nothing but good things about Garcia, for what it's worth.

FLA state bar website says he was admitted in September 2006 after graduating from law school that year, therefore, not DP qualified (need at least five years' experience, among other things).

I'm still wondering if JB qualifies to sit as co-counsel in a DP case. There are requirements for that as well. Where can we find information on the lawyer's prior cases?

I have been asking this ? for awhile and don't get an answer---> The Bar is investigating JB, right? When are they gonna be done with the investigation? I really feel that he may be disbarred! When? When? When? Another ?. When/if he is disbarred, he WILL NOT be on the KC team anymore. Right? Now our ?s are together in one post. Brain gonna bust if there isn't any input. LOL

Only one complaint is "open" and "going to diversion" was mentioned when I called The Florida Bar. Diversion is not a severe reprimand so unless there are other cases or unless some new evidence comes to light then I don't think he's going to be disbarred on the complaints they currently have.

My opinion only, of course.

He may have been one of Barry University/University of Orlando's hapless students who had to wait extra years (ohhh 6 - 8 years or so) for the University to be fully accredited. I know students who did their law school stint, had their Bar exam results sealed and then got lots of experience "waiting" for the University to full accreditation and working as "paralegals" until then.

Fox 35 just said on-air (nothing on their site yet) that the Baez camp response to this motion (Fox35 said "filed" response) is that they have a qualified DP lawyer, and THEY (not HE or SHE) will be introduced at the hearing later this month.

Fox 35 talked to Lenamon and he said he is not part of the team.

Baez does not meet the death-penalty criteria, which includes having five years' trial experience and being lead attorney in at least nine state or federal jury trials of serious or complex cases.
In his objection, Baez said despite the fact he speaks to Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick nearly every day and even spent Tuesday with her questioning witnesses, no one in the State Attorney's Office has asked about a new attorney on the case.

Regardless, Baez's spokeswoman, Marti Mackenzie, said the issue will be moot soon.

A new death-qualified attorney has joined the team and will be at a hearing scheduled later this month. She would not identify the attorney.

"At that time, the defense will introduce the highly qualified and outstanding death-qualified attorney as the newest member of the defense team," she said.

Given he got his degree in 2006 I wonder why Casey would have wanted him with so little experience, and her life depending on his counsel?

I would not be surprised if Peter Benevides has his hand in that.
NOR would I be surprised if someone is guiding him JB along the way.

Me, too. I was on vac. last week and away from WS.

Well I guess we are going to see if KC truly is brainwashed due to seclusion from family and visitors most likely due to JB's orders. If KC chooses to stay with JB as her DP attorney that would show she is stupid or something else is going on under the table!

Thanks for the info, Muzikman! Last I heard was that Lenamon had signed back onto the team as a death penalty lawyer.

Despite the fact that when he initially left, he stated that he would never come back. The plot just continues to thicken, doesn't it?

Sorry if this has already been posted - I'm reading from the beginning of the thread.

Lenamon just posted on his blog (on May 4) a list of the clients he's representing for DP cases, and KC's name is not among them.

Me: They have said this a number of times, but refuse to name any names. Which puts their credibility (haha) in question, in my mind.

Mackenzie makes me crazy. Here's what she said on April 13 when the DP was put back on the table:

We will do whatever is necessary to defend Casey Anthony from the state trying to take her life. We already have death qualified defense lawyers on our team and are prepared for a vigorous defense."
