I dunno. I guess it would depend how exactly how the hands and/or arms were taped and how the elements would effect the tape, since by the time Caylee's body was discovered, it was dislodged.

Because of all the animal activity it is hard to say how the tape was used, except that it came incontact with the shirt and fringe hair. jmo

I don't think it is possible to PROVE the exact purpose of Q104.

Just FYI- Q104 had other colored fibers on it (blue, off-white, opaque black and grey brown).

The blue and red fibers have shown up on several items though. For example, according to my notes, red fibers were on Q26 debris from trunk and Q54 vacuumings of spare tire wheel well. I mentioned the red fibers because that connection to the trunk may be important.

Thanks for this post! These are also the same colors in the WTP blanket as shown on pg 2 of that thread. Although I wasn't able to see red on the blankets . . . makes me wonder if the Q104 contains fibers from the WTP blanket but also KC may have had a red shirt that we are not aware of. But, IIRC, the fibers on the tape were natural fibers (i.e. wool and/or cotton). Trunk fibers, IMHO, will not be natural fibers. They will most likely be synthetic fibers (i.e. nylon, etc.)

IIRC, someone speculated above re: the plaid blanket, in addition to the WTP blanket. These would seem to be decent candidates for natural fibers (among many other things, of course). Just pointing out the car interior fibers are highly unlikely to be natural fibers. HTH.

I believe Cindy may have mentioned it in both her original statement to police and in her deposition. That KC had a red plaid blanket in the trunk of the car. jmo

I've been working on getting all the facts listed in the reports (specs, types & colors of fabrics, hairs, etc...) compiled so we could all easily reference it in one place (the constant digging through 1400+ pgs of one doc dump is too much to have to go through everytime we try to find something). Then we can narrow down what objects these fibers might have originated from. It is a work in progress -I started it early last night & thought it would go faster than it has. Hopefully I will have it together soon.

And this replica of a 2-3 year old skull is 6 1/2" Long, 4 1/2" Wide, 5 1/4" High:

Working hard on this, but want to just update and say please consider my description of 'soon', as relative. :innocent:

Locating all of the ME, TEU and FBI findings of all the duct tape evidence, fiber and hair evidence has been like going on a scavenger hunt for jigsaw puzzle pieces through a 1,400 acre dense forest. Then, after ya find 'em, ya gotta come back and match up all those pieces. Translating it into an accurate, albeit brief format has been more time consuming than I expected. I feel like if it is not done thoroughly, it will be a waste of everyone's efforts when we start trying to make all the pieces fit together and solve the puzzle.

I actually have to do some real life work tomorrow :crazy:, so I won't be able to pick back up until late tomorrow afternoon. I have made quite a bit of progress, so I do hope to have it ready within the next 36 hours, realistically. Hopefully, anyway!

That would explain how the tape was long enough to hold the mandible in place, (probably diagonally placed to some degree?). And, certainly explain how the hair attached to Q62, Q63 and Q64.

Mamabear, the pieces on Caylee's skull measured: Q62=~9.75", Q63=~7.5" and Q64=~8.75".

So yeah, she meant business when she ripped those pieces of tape.

Thanks AZ! I noticed your link to the skull measurements also had measurements for 3-4 year olds. The measurements are the same for the 2-3 year olds (with the exception of width grows 1/4" - to 4 3/4").

BJB - could you use your magic on the link provided above?
Or the person with the magic calipers (sorry forgot who) on the tape?
I am sure given the dimensions, there is a real techy talented person who could line up the dimensions of the tape, the potato head mouth, and the child skull. I so wish I had the knowledge and ability to do this - but I will bow from the waist and recite "Alla Alla Alla" to the person who could!
