2010.04.11 ~ Tommy and Gramma Hollars phone call

I don't know. When I first started listening, I was thinking this was something just happening.

But, this call was a month ago and they haven't arrested anyone for murder
AND, THEY STILL HAVEN'T FOUND HALEIGH!

I think this call was a bunch of bull, bull, bull.

JMOO but I don't believe he is talking about RC at all - cause while he is saying this he is also telling Grandma not to tell anyone - not to tell him - let them get "him" - and her reply is that "nobody in Nashville will know anything - she won't tell nobody in Nashville"....

OMG....that is so true. Why else would she say point out that she wouldnt tell anyone in Nashville? Because someone there might tell him..... I think you just hit proverbial nail on the head. Im in awe.

HOWEVER, she did not just go straight out and tell someone in Nashville, she went out and told the ENTIRE WORLD!!!! She did this over and over again on any media outlet that would let her show her face for the next two or three weeks. JOE is still free and in Nashville and presumably knows how to turn on a television, so how can anyone say that her word has any credibility of any kind? LE from Putnam came to see Joe, talked to him for a reported 45 minutes, left him roaming freely wherever he chooses and went back home again.

ToC has an opportunity to cop to the story that GMF "was told." In that story (@ about 4:00), ToC could admit to clean-up of the MH with M (What's to clean-up in an accidental OD, other than ridding the MH of drugs?) and, perhaps, provide information that R disposed of H's body.

But ToC is unwilling to accept even this somewhat minor role. He insists it's all about JO. Interesting...

Right, but she hasnt told the entire world where T and L's kids are at. THAT is what she was referring to, I believe, not that it was JO. I think.....lol.

For me, it is one of two things; Tommy made the call and is telling the truth, or he thought that the call would be released prior to today's hearing and Ron would know that Tommy was sticking with the story so Ron wouldn't cut the deal and rat him and Misty out. But as things go, the call and the hearing were the same day. I guess we will have to wait, it Joe is guilty, I hope they will be making an arrest given this call was weeks ago.

This kind of thing has been common since day 1. Misty, it was said early on was not at home per LE - she could have just said okay I wasn't there and left the kids alone and don't know what happened. An easy out but she didn't take it. Each one of them has had an easy way out, a believable way out but never took it. Makes one wonder why not...

Maybe it's just me, but I feel Tommy made this call on purpose. Kind of like he was coached on what to say. He goes along with what Grandma Hollars says, he never really comes out and says it's Joe though. The only indication I got that he was referring to Joe is when he said that "little M'F'" needs to pay. Other than that, I just don't get the feeling that he told LE the same version that Misty did. But that is JMO.
I hope that his hearing today is not continued, we should have an idea if he gave LE any helpful information regarding the Haleigh case depending on his sentence. I think the judge was also going to hear the BE case today as well.

Correct me if I am getting this wrong - cause this whole case is confusing :smile: BUT didn't she state that immediately after this call she called LE to tell them about it? She did not go onto the news shows until after all that and she also said that LE is not returning her calls.

And IIRC - they did talk to JO and then the sheriff also said they went to talk to him again and "he has lawyered up"...that doesn't mean they aren't interested in him, but that they can no longer talk to him without his lawyer present. Without more evidence they have nothing to talk to him about at this point - doesn't mean they aren't interested in him, aren't watching him, etc....just can't arrest him right now.

I never heard him mention JO's name...just indicators that that is who he is talking about.

Nice catch. It was GGMH who put the words in his mouth and I think you are correct. I'll have to listen again but I think he goes out of his way not to say JO's name.

Yeah, I feel like a yo yo. One minute I have suspicions about one person or another and then the next, its on someone else. You are right...they are going to have to have some kind of EVIDENCE (such as the physical type, they are now TODAY claiming they got from the river) in order to have a solid case against anyone. Until they have evidence that calloborates with what is being told (Tommy's phone call), all they can do is watch JO, who is keeping his nose very clean.

Remember his quote: 'If you dont remember it, it doesnt count".

I believe ToC does not utter either Ron's or ToC's name in this tape. ToC is lying about his own involvement in this conversation. He wants no part of that evening - at all. IMO, in this tape, his goal is to throw JO under the bus.

When GMF states, "Joe?", ToC had the opportunity to say, "No."
Instead, ToC states, "Yep."

When GMF states how she heard it went down with R (R - disposal of H's body/ToC - instructed by R to help M clean-up MH), ToC had the opportunity to state, "Yes."
Instead, ToC states, "No, BS." - twice.

ToC is lying about his own involvement. He wants no part of that evening - at all.

Good point, but he mentioned that he didnt want the person to "run". That could not have been RC, but it could have been JO. Wouldnt it be wild, if the guilty party is someone we havent even mentioned? I think I would hang up my pipe and magnifying glass at that point.

JMO - GMa Hollars was used to get this story to Misty. The reason I say this is it is very common for those who tell fibs to say "tell them what I said" - it is suggestive especially when the other one could be in trouble as well. Just as suggestive as GMa Hollars throwing Joe's name out there. This is the story Tommy wants Misty to repeat and GMa Hollars as well as Lindsy and Timmy and Chelsea. Doesn't mean it is true, but they all repeated this story without knowing the truth at all. So in that respect, it worked.
