I knew you were going to say that! They initially said the pond search was unrelated, but eventually admitted that they were, indeed, looking for evidence related to Haleigh's disappearance. I don't recall offhand if other LE was involved, but draining that pond was no small task. JMO, but I think LE learned after the Mondex search that this case has too much public interest to withstand an undertaking as visible as searching the river in a covert fashion. I will admit, though, that gathering the famiy gave me the impression that something was about to break. Yet here we are, almost two days later, and the truth remains mired as deeply in the murk as ever.

& I'm sure that LE knew that this PI couldn't wait to get the word out. They were forced to be up front.

I missed NG tonight and am now watching the repeat broadcast. Based on just what I'm seeing............the family taken to headquarters and told something, Theresa shown coming out in tears, the search site, etc., it would appear that there's been some sort of major break in the case.

Natisha Vance says that LE is wrapping up "for today", and that combined with the brief comment made by LE, who said "as long as it takes" in response to a reporter asking how long they're going to search the river, makes me think this is more than a credible tip. There hasn't been this much of a search since the first couple weeks after Haleigh went missing.

I think someone has spilled the beans.

It could be any of several reasons, but it is interesting. I sure did not see her pointing at anything though, as was reported on NG.
Maybe she thought of something else to tell them or maybe they wanted to shake her up a little bit more. Lotsa luck on that, though.
She didn't look upset or anything... so I dunno.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A new search for Haleigh Cummings turned up nothing. Detectives searched a pond off of State Road 19 in Putnam County over the weekend.
Detectives said they were led to the pond as a result of more than 4,000 tips. Investigators are staying tight lipped about the search, but say they received information that physical evidence may have been in the water.

We don't know for sure if any of the players was brought to the pond, but many of them were brought in for questioning. Tommy was in jail at the time for the stolen gun charge. NayNay was also incarcerated at the time and brought over from the jail. WBG was arrrested, questioned and released within an hour or so. Misty also went "downtown" for a chat with LE. I remember feeling so certain the case was going to break and then feeling so deflated and sad when it didn't. If I sound jaded it's because I am.

Letter Misty wrote to her relatives (on NG tonight)

I feel so bad about this s*** you know cause I didn’t say it.
I was scare no one now what he said he would do you know that day when he would not go back to the house and he stayed at the story he put me up with a knife and said if I said he would come back and kill me.
He told me at the house he would kill me to so I didn’t know what to do. He has a (illegible) raped me you know.
I knew Tommy was coming to get the gun but I didn’t know it was gone and that is when Joe got mad.
Tom had walked out and that is when Joe took it.
You know I don’t know where Tommy went.
I don’t think he did s*** but I know he now.
Joe did they was so f***** up and I mean I don’t know how Joe even drove home.
That is why the van has scratch on (illegible) he was so f***** up bad.

Croslin is expected to testify against the person who will be arrested in exchange for a reduced sentence for her drug charges.

I gather from reading this that the reference to Croslin means Misty since it states "in exchange for a reduced sentence for her drug charges." ETA: It's difficult for me to imagine that her testimony would have much weight considering her number of failed LDT's - unless the only person she hasn't pointed at publicly and in her VSA/LDT set up by TM, is the one person who, when Misty claimed he'd never do anything to hurt HaLeigh, it showed deception - When asked why, Misty said she didn't know why...

Yeah that was my exact thought as well. Particularly when LE brought the Cumming family and the Sheffield family into the same meeting, for the first time in this year long investigation. Somebody finally rolled and something it is coming up as credible.

The fact that they had Misty down at this search scene in handcuffs was kind of interesting. I can't imagine why they would do that, except to call her on a bs story and preasure her into giving up the real story.

i took that to mean M Croslin for her own drug charges...i don't know if you can bargain your info for someone else' charges?

i am so over NG and even the other shows and reporters...they never admit when they were wrong about something, just plow ahead with more tainted info.
i wonder if LE can bring themselves to admit they may be chasing more nonsense, if that is what it is...I know they can't afford to run a search to save face for very long, but am sure they would be reluctant to admit if this bunch took them in again...
