2010.04.17 Shoemaker says Ron and families told to prepare for funeral

I can imagine how everyone feels that are being accused but did not do it. Just imagine 14 months of accusations without proof but still it continues.

Ronald has done nothing to help deflect attention (thus suspicion) away from himself over the past fourteen months, to the contrary, he has done much himself to add to, rather than take away, people's suspicion of him;

Arrested for assault
Leaves a beheaded rat in a mailbox - And Yes, I believe the neighbors over Ronald Cummings.
Marries the "key"
Divorces the "key," yet in actuality, not only does he continue seeing the "key", he's selling drugs with her!
In the presence of his little, already traumatized son, he puts a gun in his mouth and tells how he'll blow his head off - AND YES, I believe Tim Miller ANYDAY over Ronald Cummings.
Arrested with the "key" for selling drugs.

All of the above, Ronald Cummings - NOT Cousin Jo. But we're the bad guys for thinking badly of Ronald Cummings, go figure.
I don't feel bad whatsoever.

I guess the one thought I have is what did LE know before they finished the search this week, when they spoke to the families? Would they say, we think she is deceased just on the basis of a confession?

It was said after he discovered his daughter was missing. Just fits in with his persona to me. Couple of days or weeks later, he sat on NG Show and "Ms. Nancy-ied" her. Appears fairly respectful to his Momma, but he has no sense of harming his own community and destroying others' lives by selling drugs. Sometimes, people are complex. Less hot-tempered individuals in this case may wind up being the ones capable of murder. Not defending him as remotely close to a model citizen, just do not think he's involved in daughter's disappearance or death.

I wonder when they were told to start planning for a funeral for Haleigh, on what day ?

Since Shoemaker made the statement then I will believe it....wether It is the outcome I wanted or not .

We have all sat here for 14 months rehashing everything over and over again it just breaks my heart for little Haleigh to hear what we have been hearing the last two days.

LE has to have something pretty concrete to be saying this to the family, they would not put them through this if not.
I am willing to wait for however long it takes Sheriff Hardy to put a case together to bring those whom have brought harm to Haleigh in and prosecuted to the fullest extent.
I think rest assured he is crossing his T's and dotting his I's to make sure no one slips through the cracks of this case...I could see it in his eyes at the last press conference ....

I hope they can all work together both sides of Haleigh's family to make arrangements for Haleighs funeral, I bet it will be beautiful just like her .....

I wonder if the funeral preparation conference was prompted by LDT and interviews that came before this last search... It may be that several players (a couple of them vying for reduced sentences) suddenly began to give stories that jibed with evidence collected over the course of the year.

I think LE knows what happened now, even if there's no Haleigh, they may have their circumstantial case. Wonder if there's going to be a Grand Jury convened?

Wouldn't that be real dangerous to do from an LE standpoint? Let it be known it is Joe to the other players and let that get out to the masses? If Joe did kill Haleigh and the heat is on to this degree, I'd be afraid he will try to take his own life or something, even if he is under surveillance they can't see what he's doing inside his house.

Well stated, Quiche. Tommy's LDT and interviews nailed something down for LE. Must have some physical evidence that corroborates interviews. Prepare for funeral arrangements is mighty strong language.

Okay everybody hold up a second. Wasn't Shoemaker on NG the othernight and he stated that he wasn't with Ron when he met with LE, and didn't he also say several times that he didn't know what was said? So to me that means that Ron gave Shoemaker the information about LE saying to prepare for a funeral. We have not heard this from any onther family member but Ron's attorney, from a conversation the attorney was not present for. Could it be that LE did not say this and Ron is feeling the sqeeze because he knows Misty and Tommy have spilled the beans and its his guilty conscience talking saying that they are going to find her.
I am intrested to know if LE really said this, because if they didn't than it sounds like Ron confessed to me, and I'm sorry I don't take things Ron says at face value. I want to hear this information from someone reliable like Crystal or LE before I beleive it.
