references to speech issues, body issues, physical attractiveness issues and other petty criticisms need to be left out of this.
I just popped in and was pretty discouraged to see that stuff still going on in these threads about the murder of a baby.

Yep, I noticed it. SHe avoided it because she knows that JP IS DP experienced and "quite frankly" JP don't play....

I was surprised JP let JA make the "irony is rich" comment directly while looking at the defense. It was AWESOME!!!! by the way.:croc:

I must say that I didn't like JA saying that because he was stooping to a level that we have found childish.

During the replay, I note that ER states "it's not legally relevant", then JA challenges her on that point.

JA did an excellent job here.

IIRC, TL didn't say KC was crying about the loss of Caylee. She might have been, but TL never stated that she was; he couldn't have because he didn't know Caylee was missing.

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/5686811/Casey-Anthony-Tony-Lazzaro-transcript-Sept-8-2008/

Page 30, TonyL speaks about nighmares and waking up in sweats..

You are correct, Turnadot, TonyL had not idea that Caylee was missing..the day in question are the days she and tony went to blockbuster watched movies and spent the night, sans Caylee..she had waken a couple of times in sweats and nightmares but never elaborated to Tony what those entailed. She did use the excuse on how their relationship was going, seems she was more into TonyL than he was into her..JMHO

If you spend every spare moment you have with your boyfriend du jour, how do you not inform him that your child is missing or the nanny abducted her or failed to return her...when TonyL found out, he was baffled...even texted Inmate Anthony to say, how could you not tell me, I'm supposed to be your boyfriend...Inmate Anthony will have a hard time explaining things away, which is why she will never take the stand in her own defense..too much hinky things she didn't do that normally would be done if a child of your own is not in your custody for 31 days...I smell a guilty plea coming....(fingers crossed)...JMHO

Considering the context, I think JA was spot on with that comment, and it was a golden moment.

im glad he let her testify, i could needed a good laugh

InSession is replaying testimony from ER. JMO, but AL sure picked a bad witness. No credentials whatsoever other than having read newspapers/media to write her articles and form opinions and no familiarity with this case.

Heck, I am more of an expert then this chick...

May I ask why JP is shown such respect by the defense but they couldn't seem to show it to Judge Strickland?
What is the difference between the 2?

I thought Jeff Ashton was wonderful; very passionate and well spoken.
I didn't like the judge giving him a little dressing down and I don't feel that the judge is very well spoken at all considering his position of power.
He should say his words more clearly.
Maybe i'm just pizzed at him for scolding Ashton. How dare he!

I got the impression that the judge liked Ms. Lyon.

I thought he was "amused" by Ms Lyon(s)

I must say that I didn't like JA saying that because he was stooping to a level that we have found childish.

I didn't find the remark itself 'childish' at all. In fact, I found it spot on.

The only thing JA did wrong in my opinion, is when he looked at the defense table when he said it. He set himself up for AL to call him out on it, which she did. He should have just kept on looking at the podium. Everyone in the courtroom knew exactly where that pointed barb was aimed.

Motion to dismiss death penalty due to gender bias. - Denied

Two motions to declare Florida's death penalty unconstitutional. - Denied

Motion to require the state to tell the defense which aggravating circumstances they will attempt to prove. - Granted

Reciprocal request asking the defense to provide the state which mitigating circumstances they will attempt to prove. - Denied w/o prejudice

Motion to keep the defense's penalty phase witnesses secret. - Denied (but the judge did say he would consider keeping the witnesses private info secret like their home address, I think)

Motion to dismiss the death penalty due to the defense's claim the state is only seeking it because KC doesn't have enough money to pay for it. - Denied

How many times did AL reference bloggers today? She can read bloggers post but no time to figure out her to defend KC?

She is reading the wrong blogs then in my opinion. KC's defense is clear. Admit you did it and try to plea. :truce:

Oh AL doesn't read the blogs, she has her students join blogs and report back to her. You mean you haven't noticed that out there on the web?:innocent:

I just cannot understand why the defense is constantly underachieving in these hearings. I mean WTF? This is about the freaking DEATH PENALTY and all she can find is someone who reads newspapers and can make an observation based off of that? Shoot, I have an undergrad degree in Psychology and a Masters in English - does that qualify me to be a defense expert? Sheesh, I REALLY expected better out of Andrea Lyons of all people on that defense.

I am just baffled at how underprepared the defense is FOR EVERY HEARING. Do they realize that they CANNOT come to trial like this? JA is going to mop the floor with them every five minutes at trial if they prepare this little for it! And why in the HELL is Casey not mad at how poorly prepared her own defense is? Does she think they're all going to wave a big magic wand and get her out of prison at trial? Cause that's what it's going to take at this point, magic or a miracle or both.

Then again, they keep being this underprepared, the trial should be easy for the SA. I cannot get over their laziness and underpreparedness, and every step of the way they want the SA to do their jobs for them. HOW THE FRAK CAN THEY NOT KNOW WHAT THE MITIGATING FACTORS ARE? My dog knows more about this case than they do!

BTW, JA is my frakkin' hero! Justice for Caylee will certainly be served. I say we write letters of thanks to him and the SA after the guilty verdict is read. I can't thank them enough for how much they are standing up for Caylee. SEE A'S? THAT'S WHAT STANDING UP FOR THE RIGHT REASONS IS LIKE! TAKE A NOTE!

Love love LOVE the "irony is rich" comment JA threw in. HOW'S THEM APPLES, DEFENSE?

And keep making yourself cry Casey. It's not what you're wearing that makes people angry at you, it's what you were doing WHILE you were wearing what you were wearing (oh the irony that you picked a blue dress) when you KNOW that your daughter is lying in a swamp and rotting away. I hope you wake up in sweats in every night until and through the trial. YOU SHOULD BE SCARED!

I don't think she's crying tears for anyone other than herself. It's a pity party.
She is angry and wants to stop the prosecution and the media from being allowed to talk about the bad things she has done. She feels they should be kept secret.

This is why she will never admit that she's done anything wrong.
She would chew her arm off before she would admit to wrong doing.

It's all about how people look at that whole family.
They can't look bad to others.

And looking at her fingers- she's just checking to see if she has smeared any mascara.
It's always about image.
That's ALL that matters.

I didn't find it childish, I found it rich.

not trying to be a smart alec but are you talking about the word Bozo?

Am I the only one who thinks it was odd that JB had an iPad in the courtroom today and had it set up in front of KC?

I really can't fathom how that's allowed.

I believe I saw a computer screen at both the defense and prosecution tables, and one at the podium, too.

I don't think it was wrong, I think it was right on..

For right before that, ALyon said she didn't understand what the mitigating factors were in going for a DP sentence..so how could the defense place blame on RKronk as the SOD who dumped Caylee's remains and yet now know what the aggravating factors were...I do think it was appropriate and if it weren't JPerry would have said so to JA...I love JA's fight for Caylee's Justice..

Justice for Caylee

I think it is possible that KC has been counseled to show emotion whenever "her child" is mentioned....
