Worse moment for me was Dorothy Sims went off about the camera men seeing her info on her computer,I believe she has made some court watchers move from behind the defense seats so they "cannot see her computer monitor screen" IMHO why in the world would you have "sensitive data" you are working on in a live court room setting, should that work not be done back at the office? Any information that you deem not appropriate should be written down and later transcribed. IMHO this flap was much to do about nothing. If you don't want anyone to see what you are writing, do it in privacy, not in open court JMHO :maddening::banghead:

If she is THAT concerned you can buy those laptop plastic privacy screens for cheap. Folks use them when traveling on airplanes because you have to be right in front of the screen to see.

I see this more as entrapment ... that the Defense are trying to find technicalities or issues to cry fowl on and appeal later. This has been tried a few times with the photographers and ICA's writing, JB's screens and they asked to move but never did and, now this.

It sounds like a ploy to cry client-attorney privilege was compromised. It is nothing different since the risk is present for everyone in any Court hearing. GMAB!

I think they told her before to get the privacy screen and she is still Bit---ng if it's that sensitive do it in the office, or write down when in court and transcribe ON YOUR TIME, just don't try to get people trying to do their jobs booted JMHO:loser:

It was the tail end of the great JB contempt blow out. Up until the moment AF grabs JB and gets him to quickly request a 5 minute recess. It may not look as clear in still photos, but in motion he looked very worrying. You could tell HHJP's blood pressure was well above normal recommended levels.

OK found it ... the Judge is blinking a lot, and one eye is more closed than the other ... but you are right, it shows better in the moving video than in the still shots....

I puffy heart you TT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the EXACT look and you're right it shows up more in motion. But still it's priceless. I commend HHJP for keeping his cool.

LDB was writing something during the part about the agreement signed by JB.
I wonder if we'll hear more about the "tense moments" in the future?

.

Umm - did I not suggest ICA just quickly poured it in there and continued to drive her car around - not using it to clean a la CA?

Oh, now, come on, cleaning the trunk with chloroform has come up in here, I was addressing general 'chloroform theories'. :blowkiss:

IMO, a person can suffocate in a trunk, but they still aren't airtight, especially with older cars. So, and this is just a guess, (don't hurt me ) I'm thinking even pouring in a little bit, there would still be fumes leaking out and into the vehicle (as in George had to drive the car home with his window down in the rain because the smell coming into the car from the trunk was so bad), causing the driver to pass out.

I seriously have no idea. I really try to remove my personal biases when looking at these cases (like what I personally would or would not do) but I have a difficult time imagining why anyone would need to knock out a 2 and a half year old child. IMO, it would have to be before the duct tape if it was inhalation, and both seems redundant, unless the chloroform was used first and didn't knock Caylee out long enough to please Casey. My understanding is in real life it's effects don't last very long.

I also wonder what she did with the rest of it, it's hard to imagine her throwing something like that away. Did she use it all up on other people?

Out of all today's progressive irritations that JB managed to squeeze in, the one that had me ready to email the courts was the small physical contact between JB and ICA at the very end of the hearing. Prior to ICA departing, she stood there for a few seconds, held out her right arm and waited to get JB's attention. She then, with right arm held out, tapped JB with, in my opinion, a rather far too personal touch to his hand. And JB returned his hand touch to her in the same manner.

You know, THAT one that cheating partners do in public when they think no one else notices. :loser::loser:

I am not sorry. I have attorneys in my family and none, not a one of them behave in this manner .... touching another non family member who is a client, in a loving, family way. It's not rocket science to see what is actually transpiring between them. And it certainly wouldn't be the first time that an attorney crossed the line and had a forbidden relationship with a client.

There is SO much information here that I am not sure if this has already been discussed. Did Baez try to get Deputy Jason Forgey declared a "hostile" witness? If so, did he give reasons for asking that? Does "adverse" = hostile?

Thanks!

Don't be sorry, count. Go back to the very opening moments of the hearing and look at KC's eyes as she follows JB walking in front of the defense desk in front of her, and then dips her eyes then looks quickly back up to him. Classic flirtation 101.

(I have not gone back to the posted vids to confirm that this part was included but hopefully some other WSer who was watching on the akamai link can confirm what I'm recalling here?)

If I remember rightly, chloroform is a heavier than air substance so it pools in low places. So it will not easily dissipate or flow out unless there is air movement to disperse it. Since the trunk is lower than the drivers head position it would not flow up and into the car to effect the driver.

Indeed he did, Joanner, though he called him "an adverse" witness.

As to why he tried this--well, Sgt Forgey was not forthcoming with the answers that JB hoped for IMO. There was no "real" reason for him to try and get Forgey declared hostile. The man was doing his level best to answer JB's jumbled and ill-prepared questions IMO.

HHJP shot JB down pretty quick on that one--no reason to consider this as a hostile witness, get back on track, that sort of thing. LDB was having none of it as I recall.

Oh I have seen this display of behavior more than once at every hearing where both of them are in attendance. We have discussed it at length. And yep, I viewed the hearings on the akamai link. ICA has been flirtin' with JB more than the other males she is in contact with. However, this encounter at the conclusion of todays hearing was specifically where JB returns the affection ... caught on video. It was quick but it was there.

I am right here with you on this, count. Maybe Amil can give some input on how this appears in the courtroom/in the flesh? I mean, we are watching from however many thousands of miles away. Would love to hear from a live witness whether the sparks we are seeing are real.

Oh I see what you are saying - :blowkiss: - I thought you were saying I was suggesting ICA was using it to clean her trunk - and yes, it has been suggested by many that CA used it.
I was thinking ICA used it like those little deodorant drop bottles you can use to disguise odor, five or six drops here and there to hide the smell - but ICA clean her own trunk? Bah!

Well she threw Caylee away - why not a bottle of chloroform also?

This makes sense to me, and I think it (her dissociating) has a chance of being true, for whatever reason. Her behavior was absurd. I just don't know how dissociation would go to defending herself against murder charges.

Because, wouldn't that theory cut both ways? In other words why would it be that "she was dissociating from a kidnapping trauma"? It could also be "she was dissociating from murdering her daughter"?

If they were smart they would use sleep deprivation psychosis. With her cell records, they have more evidence to support it than any dissociation disorder theory. For a dissociation dx it would be so hard without putting ICA on the stand, IMHO.
(but if I were in that jury room, I would call bs on both!)

Yeah, as Faefrost pointed out, the chloroform is heavier than air, so this would be workable.

I don't think Casey threw Cindy's credit card or checks away, iykwim. Seems to me a girl of Casey's caliber would find plenty of uses for chloroform besides odor control.

I just had a way out there thought. What if Lee found the chloroform at some point in his investigation and disposed of it, and that's what the 'he knows what he did' reference is all about?

This thread is closed. I am appalled at all the comments about a decision a mod made to help discussion about the information that came out in the hearings today.

I specifically asked everyone to contact the mod of their choice PRIVATELY if they had any questions and that was completely ignored as well.

This is so unlike you guys. I'm very disappointed.

This thread will remain closed for now until I decide what I'm going to do about it.

This post lands at random.

I broke the hearing out into two new threads. Let's discuss the hearing and move on.
