Well true. I almost feel as though Tommy and Misty are sitting in jail waiting for the word to come down that Joe has been arrested. That statement just made me feel like they were waiting for LE to either accept or reject the story. But then again it could have been Art in haste trying to say something much different too.
Above BBM. so I just want to make sure i understand... Misty's "story" that Fields has put on tape and handed over to LE as the "truth" of what happened that night is that Tommy is DIRECTLY involved(per the Bolded statement above- They left with (H)Haleigh If I am indeed understanding correctly then their(ToC&MC)acct of events that happened that night are as different as night and day!! And Tommy, after his coming forth w/the "truth", was repeatedly telling Mom&Dad to tell Misty I love her and that his "truth" was going to set both "free" or as Tommy says, "We ain't do nothin wrong. Not chit!"...
we're goung nowhere then because the whole thing LE is wanting is for their stories to "somewhat" match, not mirrored images of each other's, but consistency of the hard "facts"... And if this is true then we are no closer to anything and if u ask me, we're even FARTHER from getting justice for our precious Haleigh(IMO)!!:banghead:
That's been bothering me, too, Maryann. I don't remember Tommy saying that it would explain everything. He did say that he'd written a letter to his cousin and sending it to Nanny. (To save a stamp or an envelope, I suppose.) Nanny was supposed to deliver it. When Hank said, "Christy?", Tommy emphatically replied, "No". I took it to mean Joe because Tommy was careful not to mention the cousin by name. I'd like to know if Nanny delivered the letter. And, if so, did she happen to take a peek beforehand. She sure crowed loudly about being the one to solve the murder that LE couldn't figure out.I have to put this on ?paper? before it slips my mind again! What about Tommy saying he wrote a letter to his cousin? I didn't listen real carefully, but didn't he say it was to "explain" everything? Was this a letter he was writing to his cousin but was sending it to Nanny, and wanted her to pass it on? Would the cousin be Joe? Was this all just BS from top to bottom? Is this a sham cooked up by LE/lawyers/etc? Maybe I took it all wrong.......too many things going on while I was trying to listen to the tapes.

Video 8 according to my notes. The one numbered 31319276 in the url. Sorry, I didn't note what point in the tape. Now, I have to go back and listen again! Do you have any idea which tape this was in? I didn't get through all the tapes, but it was one of the last ones I listened to......I guess that narrows it down a little for me.

JVM: Art, I understand you have just gotten off the phone with Misty`s attorney. What is he telling you?
ART HARRIS, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Jane, just a few minutes ago I spoke with Robert Fields, Misty Cummings -- Misty Croslin`s lawyer, who says she has revealed everything she knows to police. They have her story on tape. And they are now just waiting to hear back from law enforcement. He says, quote, "It`s like a garage sale. We`ve put it all out there, and we`re just waiting for someone to buy it."
Thank you for confirming that he said he hopes it will work. I had forgotten that part.Got it! He says, hopefully it will work! He tells Hank he wants him to call his Nanny and tell her he has a letter coming that he wants her to give his cousin. Hank says Christie?, and than Tommy laughs and says no. After just a few seconds he say.......Hopefully it will work! What's up with that? I think this is strange. I don't think it's Cher, since I got from one of the other tapes, she lives in Georgia. This cousin has to be Joe!
Thank you Bessie!
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1005/24/ijvm.01.htmlHARRIS: Well, the jailhouse tapes are a little delayed, Jane. They were made between, you know, March and April. And some of them, the phone calls were the last couple of weeks in April.
So the lawyer is telling me he has seen her, you know, in court, and he`s spoken with her extensively about the story. And she says that night, Tommy and Joe come over to get the gun. Joe was angry. We`ve heard this before. She takes little Junior and hides under the covers and hears Haleigh screaming and keeps the covers over her head. And all of a sudden, they`re gone. She hears the door slam, presumably the door to the blue van that was used to take Haleigh`s body to the river.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: And didn`t she also reportedly say she heard screams coming from the other room?
HARRIS: She sure did. And, you know, she claimed she was so frightened, she was paralyzed that Joe had threatened to kill her and her family and put a knife to her throat. And if this is true, this is the story that she`s been telling.
I do not like to sound this negative but I am thinking this case might never be solved. And if it isn't, I will see Granny Hollars as a large part of the problem.
Had Granny kept her mouth shut and allowed those two to continue talking to her, to confide in her, to trust her, the truth might have come out. But nooooooo....she goes on national TV as soon as she hears as much as a peep from them, broadcasting everything they said, and self-interpreting some things for no reason but dramatic effect, imo.
Even if one or both confessed to Granny, she should have worked with LE on it and kept quiet. That way, there might have been closure very soon. As is, even Flo does not come off as credible now.
And what kind of grandmother goes on TV and names her own grandchildren in the murder of a child? Yes, the grandkids should pay if they commit a crime, and a grandparent should not coddle or cover for them...but they also should not go national and air the family's dirty laundry. I am very upset with how Granny Hollars may have seriously messed things up, even worse than they already were. If the truth were in the process of coming out, Granny has done her part to end that process, IMO.
So is this story Le has on tape a new one or one of the many we have already heard that amounts to nothing but pure unadulterated BS? JMO
