If she asks for money for having taken care of Kyron all those years, I will lose my mind.
There is no proof Terri did anything, and her affair started after her husband left her. In this instance then, using your example here, it is a sound business decision to give someone your car for 10,000.
If she has been charged and out on bond, I could see the argument that she's got nerve asking for support. It isn't about what's appalling, it's about what is legal for a woman in the State of Oregon being thrown out of the family home to expect from the spouse doing the throwing.
We can be appalled in the public court of opinion, but Oregon still has to follow statutes set by the law.

"Kaine's attorney, Laura Rackner, said her client is not willing to hand over money to Terri. "He would like some cooperation from her first," she said. "He would like to know where his son is.""
She's not contesting it as long as Kaine gives her money.

(Grrrrrrrr....Must not fly to Portland and throttle Terri...)

She wants him to provide her money so she won't be homeless?
She expects him to care about whatever condition she would be living in?
She thinks he has a responsibility to her?
After she tried to hire someone to put him six feet under?
I understand everything about the division of assets, but I would think that wanting him dead would imply she no longer needed anything from him.
And besides that, I would call it a travesty, more than a slap to the face (more like a shotgun blast) for him to ever have to provide for her again.

These are the days of our lives...
He should still pay alimony/spousal support until she gets back on her feet. Of course, it probably differs from state to state.
My opinion only
