So JB...that motion to disqualify HHJS is looking a little ill-conceived in retrospect, ne c'est pas?

Will go down as absolutely the DUMBEST.MOVE.EVER. by this defense.

I imagine Judge Strickland laughing after each of these hearings.

Okay, so 1 1/2 hours later and I am left feeling embarrassed for JB, beyond frustrated for Judge Perry and genuinely concerned about George's well-being while he continues to live under the same roof with Cindy.

Is it too early for a cocktail?

Not at all!!!!!! It's only noon here and I could TOTALLY go for a cocktail! :) Or a glass of wine (or a bottle) :)

Haha I agree. Judge Perry was not happy today!

And no acknowledging her mother today in court that I saw

Not at all, I think we all could use one!

This is soooo funny, the judge acts like he is throwing the defense a bone and helping them, by arranging for them to be in air conditioned environment. Much like the judge acted ( Judge Strickland ) as though he were being fair to Casey by not adjudicating her on half of the fourteen counts of fraud. Nevertheless...bottom line is the state is still going to be there, and his client is a seven time convicted felon. Even so, he can sell it to starry eyed Casey that he won some concessions.

He managed to make the judge pretty much fed up. This is precisely what I thought would happen, and we still have many, many, many more hearings to go before the trial gets here. It is going to be uphill , both ways , for the defense to gain any measure of respect from him. I'll get a break on my taxes sooner.

I cannot stop laughing. This is going to last me well into the weekend!!

Wasn't the Debbie P sworn statement released at least a year ago? I only skimmed it in this latest doc dump as it was a repeat for me.

I too remember reading DP interview a long time ago.

Another thing I noticed today..........I could never figure out why Baez would at every opportunity say "Casey is innocent".......well today when he said "My client is innocent as she sits here before you today" the lightbulb went on that he's referring to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. A play on words..........I'm probably the only one that didn't realize that - I thought he was really saying she's innocent. :banghead:

Baez managed to get Linda Drane-Burdick to recite to the judge the fact that the expert Dr. Henry Lee must be guarded since one of his own defense team members reported to the judge in the Phil Spector case that indeed he tampered with/secreted evidence!!

Oh my God, you just can't make this stuff up!!!!

I actually thought I might pass out when I heard JB bring up the Phil Spector trial HIMSELF. I kept thinking..."nah...I HAD to hear that wrong"

Casey will be saying as she gets the lethal injection, "but im innocent"

No disrespect...but the only thing I can agree with you on is feeling embarassed for JB....he is so inadequate I can't even begin. Judge Perry can take care of himself VERY WELL. George made his own bed.

best part of the hearing was when judge perry looked straight at casey and said punishment by lethal injection and made a face saying basically do you know how serious this is and you should really think about this before moving forward in this case

It's almost as if he is sending her a subliminal message "you'd better trust your attorney" or "this is more serious than you know".

Doesn't it seem like JB is purposely doing annoying stupid things in court, then complaining about how his client can't get a break with the public? Like he's doing it on purpose?

I can't get over JB whining about not being available to read the latest letters to KC that were released, because he was out of town. Surely CM was in town to do his reading and could have written a motion to have them sealed. JB complains when he says the state is taking too long to release evidence to the defense, and then in the next breath he complains when he says the state is releasing evidence before he has a chance to read his copies. Uh, JB, you can't have it both ways, bud! *eyerolls*

Set 'em up Beach!!! I am thinking Judge Strickland is also laughing himself silly over this.

I agree about George, he needs to get a divorce, tell the truth at the trial and try to make a new start. It is inevitable, imo that he must divorce. Somebody could wind up physically hurt in that house, and from what I have seen from Cindy, if it is her....she wont be going alone.

Did you hear JB's response to LDB? He whiningly said, well the OCSO doesn't seem to reject Dr. Lee when they have him come to Orlando to train their people. Geesh! Jose is like a little kid who HAS to get the last word in!

Absolutely...just the way that he said it and made eye contact and the pause...

Just wanted to note a few things.

What JB said was (paraphrased) "My client is innocent at this point in time, as I am sure the court is aware, giggle,..." My interpretation being she is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. (Also, my opinion only, just the way Baez said it makes me think he knows dang good and well she is guilty as sin of the crime she is accused of...)

When HHJP asked if there were issues of trust between counsels, LDB said she wouldn't comment on her personal feelings. LOL!

Last, but not least, I am a little unclear on what Baez was whining about regarding the "ten days". My understanding in the context of the hearing was HHJS had ruled the state had to turn over everything within 10 days after receiving it, but hearing the talking heads, it sounds like the state has to give the defense 10 days notice on discovery before allowing it to be released per sunshine laws. Anyone care to educate me? TIA
