I found that hard to believe, actually.
But surely Kaine knew LE would be listening to all of his interviews.
Wasnt Lt. Linstrand right there with Kaine and Desiree when they spoke out?
IMO

I think you are on to something. What if the problem is that because of the questionnaires, they now know that both left the school, but not together? So they know that both left, but can't place the both of them together outside of the school? Maybe no one saw Kyron in the parking lot, only Kyron inside of that school, and maybe someone saw the stepmom get into her truck alone? So it's like he left the school but vanished into thin air? That might be the only thing keeping them from arresting TH. They have all the suspicion in the world EXCEPT Kyron with her outside of the school.
I also think that teachers thought Kyron was there because his things were in his chair. I kept wondering why they'd just assume he was getting a drink of water or was in the bathroom, and I forgot his stuff was in his chair. I think that's why they weren't worried. They figured he had to be there because his stuff was in his chair. I don't think TH told them anything. I think they just assumed he was there somewhere and TH was lucky they weren't more suspicious of Kyron's whereabouts.
...I think we should forget the idea of Kyron being hidden behind some sort of Gothic secret panel behind the library. He left with someone.
I took it to mean that he was not there when Kaine said he met the bus...I did not take it mean what his usual "Can't comment on that" means...
It's in this video, at about 2.30. Albeit it isn't an 'official police source,' but a reliable enough source that the news agency quoted them.

Sheriff: Finding Kyron alive still the focus

Or, what if this sub who said, "oh no, where is Kyron?", is involved in his disappearance? Just a thought... Sounds like this person made a fast exit, that's what made me ponder.
Does anyone recall the date Gates first said that Terri was the last person to see Kyron?
And did he mean the very last, ever? Is that what he was saying, or did he say the last person in the school to see Kyron?
That is a sticking point with me, as if he said last person to see Kyron...end of sentence...then that tells me a lot about what they think they know. And there would not be another person seeing Kyron after Terri saw him.
What if LE installed spy software with Kaine's permission? They've probably been watching everything she does on the computer for 3 week
I think that would be illegal. They would need a search warrant. Kaine can not give up her rights.

IIRC, he did say she was the last known person to see him before he went missing. He may have also said 'last known person' without that qualifier. I'll have to watch again. It was in the press conference called the day after the false report of Kyron's body being found. Where Gates talked about the questionnaire and gave the penny-in-the-grass example.

And, let's not forget that Kyron's mom is married to a detective. Brother's in blue are handling this investigation (imho) and I think it's silly to think otherwise. Kyron's bio mom and dad are being well advised about their son's demise. I can't see it any other way.
I'm willing to eat crow in the end if I am wrong!![]()

Quoted BeanE So with Terri being last person per LE, then they were not seen leaving together per currently known info stated by LE.

With utmost respect to you BeanE:hug:
. When did you hear that? I heard at yesterdays presser by LE that he answered No Comment to that question.
Okay I've gone back looking at all the references of LE talking about *place* last seen, and they've always consistently said inside the school. So I'm going to have to go with that for now, rather than the idea that he may have been seen elsewhere. There's just no indication from LE of place being anywhere other than inside the school.

And that leaves me right back at the beginning. Or somewhere on those Escher stairwells.
Earlier in this thread Lavender transcribed a telephone interview made by KATU with MCSO Lt Mary Lindstrand where Lindstrand said:
"His stepmother and he were in the school looking at the science fair, had been in 2 or 3 different classrooms. I am told he went up one stairwell, she went up the other stairwell. She saw him walking down the hall toward his classroom, and thats the last she saw him.
I don't know. I just find it hard to believe that in this day and age, and especially given Terri's penchant for being online and Kaine's profession, they didn't check the family's computers. If they'd been acting alone, perhaps the MCSO investigators would have been remiss in this, but I can't believe that with all those other agencies involved something so basic would be overlooked.
