From the transcript of the show:

LEONARD PADILLA, BOUNTY HUNTER: Well, she`s -- she`s probably on the fringe of something. Kronk lived -- his girlfriend Michelle worked at the jail. I have no doubt, in studying Kronk and his background, that he was guided to the area. But he missed it by about 100 feet because he was keying in on the wrong tiles.

But he knew where he could find the body. There was no -- no guesswork in his mind. He just was 100 feet off. He got that information from Michelle. Now neither the defense nor the prosecution --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Who is Michelle?

PADILLA: Michelle is his girlfriend. She works at the jail. Nobody -- not the defense, not the prosecution -- has taken her deposition. I think that the defense is treading lightly on that information because she`s liable to say she got it from somebody that worked at the jail and this is what they overheard between Casey and her attorney.

On the other hand, the prosecution might not want to know that there was somebody involved at the jail that overheard the conversation. So I think Cindy is touching on that.

The other thing she`s saying is that back on the 9th --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Well, let me get -- I`ve got to get back to this. So you`re saying there is --

PADILLA: Sure.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: In your opinion, some kind of conspiracy and Roy Kronk wasn`t just a meter reader with a good gut. That he was directed there by his girlfriend who worked at the jail, who may have overheard Casey talking about the location of the little girl`s body?

PADILLA: I don`t think she overheard Casey talking about it directly. I think she was told by somebody that works at the jail, one of her co- workers, that they had overheard a conversation between her and Baez. That is why Baez has not taken Michelle`s deposition.

And this rumor or this innuendo or this idea has been floating around for quite some time now. Kronk was not just an innocent meter reader that was walking along the road, decided to relieve himself, and stumbled on to the bag. He knew exactly where he was going, but he was 100 feet off from where he had been told the body was.

I re-read where Kronk said he went home and told his girlfriend about the sightings and she urged him to call authorities, which he did. So, why are there no interviews or depos of her by anyone? Weird. Padilla is not reliable, imo. He weaves tall tales, when he actually knows very little. JMO.

I have not seen any reference to her in any official documentation yet. Not listed on the defense or State's depo schedule either. Anything is possible though. To me she's completely irrelevant to the case. I do not for one second think Mr. Kronk had anything to do with the death or disposal of Caylee.

I don't believe Kronk had anything to do Caylee's death or location either. It's just that it has been public knowledge that the defense has been pointing fingers at him ever since he found the body. You would think they would want to talk to her, also the SAO just to have a depo from her supporting Kronks position. But neither parties seem to want to go there.. ? I wonder why. To me, she is very relevant if Kronk is to be thrown under the bus. Maybe she is a flake and they all consider her too risky?

Maybe he doesn't have a girlfriend that works at the jail? And from the transcript the story has changed, now it's Kronk heard from GF, who heard from a friend overheard something, I think thats triple hearsay and would never be allowed. I'm pretty sure LE and the SAO would have interviewed her and investigated to see if there was a connection or not. He is one of the key witnesses, I believe they would have gone over his whereabouts while Caylee was missing and even after he found her.

Yes, I have always taken Padilla's claim that his girlfriend worked at the jail with a big grain of salt. He is the only source for that, to my knowledge. But if he lived with his girlfriend, I would think they would want to talk with her regarding Kronks interest in the case, his activities prior to finding the body, was he actively looking for the body, etc. Regardless of any connection or not to the jail and Padilla's claim.

I never knew where the info about the gf came from...except that it was in DCs and the psychics correspondence...somewhere. I never believed one word that LP said.

Plus he got fired from his job - why did that happen? That doesn't seem fair if he's above board.

IIRC, he wasn't fired because of anything to do with finding Caylee's remains. He had filed a workman's comp claim for some other reason to do with his job and didn't show up for the hearing. (Sorry I don't recall the exact details - it's late & I've entered into CRS mode, lol)...

(quoted from article)
Kronk was terminated late Tuesday after failing to attend a disciplinary hearing for excessive absenteeism following an injury at work. Records show he used up all his sick time and medical leave.

"It is my understanding that Mr. Kronk injured his neck and shoulder while lifting and placing boxes in an Orange County Utilities warehouse,'' David Evans, Kronk's attorney, wrote in an email to the media.

True but I am very glad that JW is not on the ICA Defense team. She is very effective at spinning in an articulate way that comes across as very plausible and believable .... if you did not know better. She is very outspoken and vehemently challenges the statements of others and evidence -- so many back down on real facts.

I always thought she was on the Defense payroll but it is also a great way to market her Defense attorney skills, to so forcefully argue the innocence of ICA.

I had to laugh though when it was said the daisy chain came from the jail and thus Casey yet JW even debated that .... so LE must have SODDI already locked up with KC and that's where RK got the dump site from.

Sheeesh!

BBM - I actually find the exact opposite about Janie W. Let me preface this by saying I don't put much faith in the Dr. Glass body language nonsense, I equate it much to astrology which I don't equate to anything but quackery -- but .. If you actually watch Janie, she has a tendency to do a few things which make me question her sklls. After she finishes speaking, she has a weird 🤬🤬🤬🤬-eyed smile on and she tightens her chin down into her throat. I do this myself when I say something that I'm not completely convinced of is true right after I've said it. Also, she will say something low and under her breath while somebody else is talking and sit there hoping she's not called out for it, I do this too and when nobody says "what did you say", i walk away with the feeling that I DID debate it but nobody heard me. It's a false way of soothing myself that I did everything to get my point across, when really, it was deliberately said under my breath so nobody could actually catch me not knowing what I was saying. I think she comes across as somebody with no self-confidence, like me.

She is quite the manipulator, isn't she? Last night I had JVM on for awhile and my hubby who isn't well informed on the case was listening and he ended up saying, "Sounds like the State doesn't have much to go to trial with"!!! I told him not to pay any attention to JW because she either stretches or shrinks the facts to suit her own theories.

The only thing I can say to this is something my mom told me years ago when I asked why EVERY Halloween the news tells us YET AGAIN not to put kids in costumes that can catch fire, and I asked "doesn't everybody know that by now?" and she said "Every year, there is a new audience for that information, people are always having babies." And that applies here, your husband and my boyfriend both have not kept up with the case, so Jane's show that night - the recap of almost the whole thing in a little abridged nutshell - was for THEIR benefit, not ours. There is a new audience for Jane every night.

But Lampchop if RK said he picked something up and a skull rolled out, he should be able to walk the cop right up to the site. That's what I think. :waitasec:

But, he DID. He said he picked up something and the skull rolled out on December 11, and he did walk the cops right up to the site. He hadn't seen the skull in August. Plus there was all that nonsense about the snake scaring the cop in August and that's why they didn't walk up the hill. Don't know what I believe, re: Kronk, but I just wanted to clarify about the timing of the skull.

If defense were serious about Kronk as a suspect his girlfriend would have been deposed by now. LE seems satisfied with where Mr. Kronk was during the time Caylee went missing. I'm sure they had is work records, cell phone records, whatever is needed to prove to defense that they are barking up the wrong tree.

If you feel someone else did the crime why would you be investigating George. And we know they are....... jmo

You did a SUPER job here, thanks so, so much! Obviously this is all serious stuff but I LOVED Misha's "commentary"!! So cute! I think Misha is NOT a Casey supporter; smart dog!!

For some reason, I remember something about Roy's "girlfriend" or "wife" passing away sometime in the year before he found Caylee. Am I imagining things?

The show is going to be all about Casey.

Holy Carp!!! Leonard Padilla is throwing Kronk under the bus.....says Kronks girlfriend was told something by one of her co-workers at the jail (they overheard Baez supposedly), the g/f told Kronk, and Kronk went looking and was only 100 yards off of where Caylee's body was found.

I wish the experts knew the case as well as we do. RK did not relieve himself behind the school. Grrrrr.
