2010.08.30 NeJame Calls Baez 'Liar'

  • #81
I knew a woman just like Mr Baez. She made nasty little comments about everyone in public counting on the fact that nice people would hate to make a scene. If someone did finally say something, she would smile sweetly, look injured and insist that she was misunderstood, the other person was acting irrationally, and maybe they were stressed and needed a break. The other person always ended up looking bad.

JB prodded MN hoping for a reaction to make the news. Unfortunately he got one. Now JB can act all injured and superior.

I am sorry that we didn't hear what Mr Baez said in his own words.

Mr Miller was so right...anyone who comes near these toxic people gets body slammed.

Yep...narcissistic passive agressions at its finest. I know one like that too..

One good thing came from all this...Mr Baez, himself, offered the public statement that he was competent and that his client knew that he was competent. That might put a dent in any appeal after trial based on ineffectual assistance of counsel.

Just as I thought - Nejame wasn't red-faced, shouting and didn't have any emotional fit. He just confronted the liar and stated the truth very matter-of-factly.

I confess I still wish it hadn't been aired by the media and I don't see any reason the media needed to be present. However, I can't judge Nejame because if that were me and lies had been attributed in a pleading filed with the court disparging my good name, I would have done the same thing.

Like Riley said, what was he supposed to do - send it in a email?

But Baez makes such nice color graphs :P

Can he handle more than 12 colors in a box?:floorlaugh:

Agreed! How can one protecting one's reputation for lies be deemed unprofessional? What should he have done....sent him an email?? :banghead::banghead:

Well, we all know CA is the queen of nasty emails. That's her territory, not Nejame's. lol.

So do we. She's in jail awaiting a murder trial for killing her 3 yo daughter. Isn't it amazing how like types find each other?

Awesome point! Thank you, Mr. Baez! No appeal for Casey!

I was wondering about that a few days ago, while looking over a list of all those associated with the defense side of this trial. Is there a secret handshake? a tattoo that only shows under black light? a code word? a secret spy type phrase like 'the squirrel chatters at midnight'? How do they recognize each other?

Baez can chew on this!

Mark’s background as a criminal defense attorney and renowned trial attorney has been recognized by numerous organizations. He is a lecturer and speaker and has been a featured speaker for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Association of Black Narcotics Officers and numerous other Law Enforcement Groups. Mark NeJame is the Past President of the Central Florida Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has been recognized in the Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys, which acknowledges but a small number of the leading lawyers in the United States. He is also AV rated, the highest possible rating given by Martindale Hubbell, the nation’s leading lawyer rating publication. He has been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles being referred to as “ The Power Worthy”, “ Orlando’s Own Johnny Cochran”, “Defender is a Contender”, “Orlando Power Couple”, “Orlando’s 50 Most Powerful People” and the “Voice for the Voiceless”. Mark NeJame was recently named Number 26 in the 2009 edition of Orlando Magazine’s Most Powerful, the highest ranking for any private attorney in Orlando. Although most of Mark’s cases involve regular people and their families who find themselves in some difficulty with the law, Mark has handled numerous high profile cases involving lawyers, judges, professionals, celebrities, athletes, politicians, law enforcement officials and renowned business people. He appears regularly as a commentator or expert on numerous television, radio and print media. He has made appearances and been interviewed on CNN, The Today Show, CNN Headline News, The Nancy Grace Show, The Dr. Phil Show, Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell, Geraldo Rivera, Studio B with Shepard Smith, Inside Edition, Greta van Susteren, Court TV, and on a variety of ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox national and local news segments and outlets.

Right in line with the Anthony's new lawyers contacting the media to say they won't be contacting the media.

Thank you kindly for this information, Two.

Could you now do the same thing, listing Mr Baez's professional history? :D

I agree.
It was also so unprofessional for him to say derogatory things about the Anthonys after leaving them. Not to mention TO the Anthonys themselves. I was shocked at the insensitive things he said to Cindy Anthony in that letter that was released, what lawyer would do that, especially to a grieving person. He should have just taken the high road.
Also very strange for him to represent TES after first representing the Anthonys, imo.
If he had a real complaint about JB there would be appropriate channels for it, this isn't the way. Maybe he should take some R&R. And it would be totally understandable, the stress of the media pressure etc in this case must be considerable.

Of all the attorneys in this case I think Mark Nejame is the most professional. No one can blame him for resigning as the Anthony's attorney. Their behavior was so outrageous, and as their representative, it would eventually reflect on him. He did the right thing in resigning and distancing himself from them.

His remarks to the Anthonys in that email were well deserved after CA's comments. Her remarks to Mark Nejame were not the remarks of a grieving grandparent.

Mark Nejame is representing Tim Miller and TES because they've been treated wrongly and unfairly by first the Anthonys and now the defense. It's right and just that those who volunteered to search for Caylee be protected from having their personal information released to the defense. Especially when the defense is only looking for someone, anyone, they can blame. It's just not right that an unscrupulous defense attorney can seek to blame innocent people.

With all due respect, Seagull....how much can a person take? MN has an impeccable reputation that CA was smearing. He was very nice to her, never said anything derrogatory, until he had the answer that nonsencial ranting email. How could he not? She told outright lies about how he got BC to convince them to sign that conflict of interest waiver, basically calling it a conspiracy. He was only responding to her outrageous lies. She purposely bypassed BC which is why MN sent it to BC, who when saw those words, no doubt had a pow wow with CA and resigned. MN when representing the Anthony's was always trying to calm the storm. He gave many excuses to CA's abhorrant behaviors/words she spewed! He knew and does know now, who is responsible for Caylee's demise but these people have no problems implicating innocent people and he can't stand by and allow it to happen.

Seems Baez wants to be able to talk smack but no one should say a word to him???

Baez wants the media away from reporting on his client, yet, he tips them off???

I would love to see a bar complaint filed on Baez for his outrageous lies and maybe taken off this case and replaced. This way there is no room for appellate appeals or ICA has an incompetant attorney appeal...JMHO

OT: As I was watching TruTV, across the banner at the bottom of the screen I noticed, ICA paid or will be paying $111,954? Does anyone know what that's about???

Justice for Caylee

It's concerning to think that there could be an appeal based on incompetent attorney. It would be in the best interests of this case if JB was removed from the case and replaced with someone professional and competent. Is there any reason why Casey couldn't have a public defender? Is there a public defender that's death penalty qualified?

Hello WS :cool2:

And, isn't there a big difference in MN making a statement at "work", meaning during things being discussed between said parties, and calling news stations to have them show up for a press conference?

What I mean to say is MN was making a comment that was picked up by the media, 99% of JB's statements were made TO the media in an interview. Its not like MN called the media to make this statement. If MN were to start doing that, then I might think he was just as "dirty."

Unless that happens, I tend to agree with WSers who say that sometimes enough is enough. Telling the truth, out loud is what is needed.

My stupid outdated work system would not let me see the video at work. Now I'm home and the video seems to have been removed? Does someone have a link that works for this? I'm dying to see it!
