I agree 100% and add to your post this one other detail[that of course is jmo]....

I see it as the info that was given wasn't sat on or hidden but rather that early in the case was not known to be relevant or important... Meaning that only after LE gleaning the partial truths from Tommy and Misty in these past 9 mos and carefully putting all of the puzzle pieces together, only then did LE realize that particular days or specific hours of particular days or events that were once seen as irrelevant that occurred in the days leading "up to the actual crime" were of great importance... Therefor going back to Ron and questioning about these specific days and events and thus making this info told by Ron EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE TO SOLVING HALEIGH'S CASE... jmo but is a different way to look at it and imo is quite possible...

I remember that, but at the time, I thought they were worried that Haleigh had been targeted & stalked. But, looking back, I think they may have been wondering about the WBG weekend, Joe's visit, & yes what Ron had been up to. When this is all over, I'd like for LE to explain what they meant by a lot of things. But that probably won't happen.

Sorry a few other things.

I keep seeing reference to Ron refusing to cooperate with the police. I must have missed that come some please find me a source.

Secondly - and this is my opinion. We have had it emphatically stated that had Ron known he would have "killed" whomever was responsible. Personally I think that's a stressed...but why do people think Crystal is any different? She lost her daughter and she has a mother's instincts. Regardless of her past with Ron if she believed in anyway shape or form that Ron was responsible for her daughter's death - I cannot believe she would be supporting him or griefing his sentence in anyway.

Secondly - the theory of junior mistaking Ron as the man in black, I think is very unlikely. I do not believe junior would have not recognized his dad no matter what he was wearing. Every seen a child fooled by his own parent dressed as santa claus? Mannerisms, movement, even if someone never spoke. Kids are intuned to their parents. It is not based on look alone and costumes rarely fool their kids. While I believe junior's statement is very likely a key part of this story. I jsut can't wrap my brain around it being Ron.

I know there are other articles out there, but this is the one I had handy regarding Ron and Misty avoiding LE.

Cummings: It went ‘personal’

In recent interviews at Sykes’ Welaka home where Ronald Cummings, 25, and his wife live, he told the Times-Union the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office focus was shortsighted.

Standing outside wearing T-shirts with Haleigh’s likeness, Ronald and Misty Cummings said they gave dozens of hours of interviews in February and March, including her longest, which she said occurred just before the couple were married.

“I think the longest time I was in there was eight hours,” she said.

Ronald Cummings said the investigation went in the wrong direction.

“They took a child-abduction investigation and made it a personal investigation,” he said. “Instead of keeping the focus on finding Haleigh, they made the focus on Misty and what she was doing one weekend and what happened six months ago and what happened seven years ago. It was tunnel vision.”

Cummings has cut off interviews with investigators.

“Besides ‘No I didn’t have nothing to do with my child being missing,’ what do you say?” he asked.

Maj. Gary Bowling, director of law enforcement for the department, said detectives would like to interview Cummings again but have been resisted.

The interviews with Misty Cummings have produced different pictures, he said. She was alone with Cummings’ children the night Haleigh disappeared. She has told authorities she woke up about 3 a.m. and found the 5-year-old missing.

“We’ve said from day one Misty’s story is absolutely filled with inconsistencies,” Bowling said.

He has not worked since that last night shift, then lost his job because he did not stay in contact, according to the company. Cummings said he has not been able to find another job and does not know if he can go back to work.

“Each day gets harder and harder,” he said.

He moved from the mobile home where Haleigh vanished and said he still cannot go there.

“We don’t even want to be in that area,” he said.

Cummings, who has a minor criminal background, was arrested early Thursday after an altercation with a brother of his wife and her parents

Hopefully Tommy has had time to stew on his 15 year sentence and also digest the fact that Ron got the same ... even though Tommy was a minor player in the drug sting.

Given the plea deal and sentence for Ron LE can leverage that and play with both Misty and Tommy. So Tommy doesn't know what Ron has stated and doesn't know how/if Misty reacted.

I pray that by playing everyone against each other and making them sweat will begin to reveal more pieces of the puzzle and we can reach some closure for those not involved in HaLeigh's demise.

I don't have a dog in this case and don't care who is guilty or innocent. I just want the truth to come out, not for them to take the rap via drug offenses. For there to be Justice for HaLeigh and ... that maybe HaLeigh can be brought home and laid to rest with respect, dignity and, love.

Misty, Ron, Tommy ... save your souls and bring HaLeigh home.

While reading the latest "Bombshell I noticed something in Shoemaker's response. He is verifying that Teresa was at Ron's MH at some point during the time period of February 9th, 2010. I guess we can add this to the timeline. And just in case someone wants to point out that she arrived with the photo and jacket, I really think that we can safely assume that she was there earlier just from how he stated the information. However, there is no mention of the "nurse" in the Cummings' family as being with GGMS. Interesting!

Could it be? Did LE think that Misty was actually telling the truth this time so they are going to do exactly what she suggested? Ask Tommy. Tommy knows everything! It is going to be interesting to see if Tommy comes up with in the next version in this saga. This time I hope that he comes clean.

If his mom & GM dropped by, he couldn't have left drugs accessible? I'm not following his logic. But, oh yes, Ron's been talking...notice how smoothly Shoemaker just slid that in about TN being at the trailer? & since Ron has promised the truth in exchange for a deal, Shoemaker had better be careful with that bus stop stuff. Only idea I can think of is maybe Misty did break down and told LE most of the truth. One could only hope and pray this is the case. I had been going back and fourth the past few days reading old articles and found that Misty had mentioned Tommy and Ronald last yr as well.

Here it seems that LE did get some info regarding Ron, per Misty's test. It was not allowed to be reveled.

Misty was then asked about Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's dad and her new husband. It was that questioning which puzzled the expert.

He then told her, "When I asked you that, it came up and said you are not sure. Why is there doubt in your mind?"

Misty replied, "I don't know. I don't know if there's doubt in my mind, really Ronald didn't have nothing to do with his daughter, I can tell you that."

Ward then asked Misty, "What do you think happened to Haleigh?"

This was the search of the Mondex, Tommy also took LE to St.John's River. I find it interesting that he has been the one to take LE to both areas. Misty had said that Tommy had taken her to the River in Dec 2009 as the area where Haleigh was dumped. IMO, there is some truth as to what Misty has said. She had also said that LE needed to look at Ron and Family, but that they kept ignoring her. Tommy said the same.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is interviewing Misty Cummings' brother and his wife in connection with the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings.


Tommy says he has no idea why his sister is accusing him in Haleigh's disappearance. He told First Coast News Misty is trying to pass blame onto someone.

Despite the accusations, he says he stands by his sister and doesn't think she had anything to do with Haleigh's disappearance.

He is now being questioned by detectives. This is the first time he has been brought in for questioning in about a month.

Yes, LE did say early on they were looking into days/events prior to Haleigh "disapppearing"... But just as all seasoned investigators will tell when they have a case that goes unsolved for months and sometimes years, that they go back to the beginning of the investigation and with the knowledge and any evidence that they have gleaned in those months and possibly even years they re-evaluate certain days, specific events that occurred that in the beginning did not seem to have any importance or relevance to the case but upon their gleaning of certain knowledge since then they may now realize the grave importance of certain days, specific hours of particular days and events...KWIM?

Police were dispatched to 202 Green Drive, in reference to the report of a missing 5-year-old child. Due to the age of the child, police responded to this location with a Code 3, blue lights and sirens. D/S Bridges and Iarrived on scene at the same time, 3:40. Upon our arrival, I observed a white male standing in the driveway who was visibibly upset. I made contact with the individual who identified himself as Ronald Cummings. Ronald told me that his daughter, Haleigh Cummings, 5, was missing.

Police asked Ronald what happened, and he told me that he had just gotten home from work, and his, "dumb [censored] girlfriend" told him his daughter was missing. Ronald repeadtedly said that someone had taken his child and also said, "when I find him, I'll kill him." Ronald was referring to a 9mm Beretta hand gun which heowed inside of his residence and that if law enforcement found whoever had this child, he would shoot them through the back window of the patrol car. I attempted to get information from Ronald regarding HAleigh, however, due to his emotional state he was unable to provide any useful information.

I then made contact with Misty Croslin, Ronalds girlfriend. Misty told me that she had put the children to bed at approximately 8pm. MIsty said that they were sleeping in HER BED, and when she laid down at around 10:30pm both children were still in bed. I asked MIsty who the other child was and she advised the other child was Haleighs brother. Misty old me that she woke up just before 3am to get a drink and she noticed that Haleigh was missing, however the OTHER child was still in bed. MIsty ran around the residence franticallly looking for haleigh and that she noticed the back door was stanfing open. MIsty said that she was sure the back door had been locked prior to her going to bed.

Mist said that at approximately 5 minutes after she noticed Haleigh missing, Ronal arrived home. MIsty said that as soon as she told Ronald HAleigh was missing, Ronald told Misty to call 911, which she did. I asked MIsty if she ever took Haleigh on a walk, and Misty advised that she sometimes walked with Haleigh to 116 Tyler Street to visit her family.

At this time, Teresa Neves arrived on scene . Teresa is Ronald's mother. Teresa told me that she had been called by Ronalds shortly after he learned HAleigh was missing. Teresa told me that Haleighs mother is Crystal Sheffield, however Ronald has full custody. Teresa told me that Ronald and Crystal have not been disputing the custody of Haleigh. Teresa provided a 2008-2009 school photograph of Haleigh.

I remember an early interview with LE, where it was said that the child's gm, 'I believe' was there early. Those aren't the exact words, but close. If TN wasn't there, I wondered why he didn't correct himself, but I guess she was there. But it's strange that we haven't heard a peep since. When GGS was on NG verifying that she had been at the trailer, I wonder why TN didn't put her 2 cents in?

Where exactly was Tommy transferred from? & is that mugshot new? Besides still being really skinny, (so all's not well), I can't get a feel from his facial expressions. Is he scared? pizzed? sleepy? He looks purposely blank. I hope that doesn't mean he's determined to not talk. I read in the Art article that he was scheduled back on Oct 4th, anyway, but today feels too early.
