This is off topic but I did not know where to post this: When are we supposed to get the 50 pages of FBI docs that the defense got a while ago.

What he is good at is behaving like a cop, and using subtle tricks to get you to think and react as if he is still a cop and an actual authority figure. Basically he is exploiting the tools he used to have at his disposal as a transit officer, and counting on the fact that A. the general public does not know where the line is between PI and cop and will never ever challenge him on it. B. It is a subtle thing and hard to prove when there are no outside witnesses, and C. Even if someone does complain, they will complain to the Cops, who will give him a lot of leeway since he is one of them and ex-LE. And he is perfectly correct. He could easily go his entire career using this strategy, dancing back and forth over the line. It would make him a superb PI, in large part because he is doing things that a true civilian PI could not get away with. But what he is just now about to learn. It all falls apart under the scrutiny of a high profile media focused case. His techniques and ethics cannot withstand having the light of public attention shone on them. For his "really good PI" skills to work, it requires individual contact with no witnesses, no recordings, and no review. Without that his skill set becomes that of a simple gopher for the defense attorney.

Two separate people who are on the witness list have come forth and given reports of the defense PI rather blatantly witness tampering. (Lying to a witness in order to get them to give a desired story is a huge nono for a PI or the defense). It really will not matter if TES files a formal complaint. These are already people on the witness list. The prosecution can call them to tell this story at trial in order to rebut the defense claims and undercut ANY work done by the defense investigators. While there may be some people who may view RK as a point of doubt (reasonable or otherwise) this goes a huge way to the prosecution disarming that. It basically lets them say in open court, proven or otherwise that the defense are outright lying, and present independent witnesses to back it up. That's devastating.

And given that the PI in question is the same one that went after HHJS, and apparently has a bit of a trail of sleaze, I would not expect HHBP to suppress any of it.

Thank you Faefrost - you've come at the situation from a completely different angle than I - and I certainly did not expect HHJP to suppress this testimony. What I was asking and I would welcome your input is whether or not the PI specifically will suffer any repercussions - such as a fine, license suspension or something like that based on these accusations.:waitasec:

Thank you, Jayla! That sure does help to put things in perspective! If JB and Co. try to use ANYTHING that they have gleaned through the use of ANY of their PI's, I believe the SA will be able to blow them out of the water. Anything JB tries to use that was given by DC, the SA pulls out the video of DC digging and poking and ripping into garbage bags in the EXACT area where this babys remains were later found. Try to use anything from Morty, boom! Show the sleaze tactics of going after the disgruntled ex-wife of the good samaritin that found the child dumped by the side of the road. Try to use anything from JL, and the SA can provide witness testimony that he used trickery and deceit to try and manipulate their testimony. Hopefully, the shenanigans and tricks are going to be stopped by HHBP. And soon!

Geez, you'd think the defense team would be begging KC to take a plea ,at this point.
I continue to be astounded at the size of the hole everyone supporting KC continues to dig. So many shovels at one time! So deep ,they may never be able to climb back out . And for what? KC ? So not worth it.

As far as repercussions? I have no idea. I would imagine someone could try and get his license revoked? But given all the fun and high standards we have seen with DC, this does not seem to be something that the local certifying authority takes a firm hand or any obvious action with. (Is DC still licensed? I lost track).

it's possible that he might face criminal charges for witness or evidence tampering, but I cannot see that happening on a he said/she said type arrangement. Where these new witnesses may gain some credibility there is if LE investigators can definitively link him to that fake TES document. But for lying to these witnesses in order to illicit a different or desired piece of testimony. I don't think he will face anything more serious than a public disgrace and a loss of business.

When I first saw this, I misread why another Special Magistrate was requested - thinking it was to have the S.M. look over all the discovery as it is released and thought jeeze are they going to ask to have someone else do all the work for them? But the reality of the reason for the request is just as bad - as they have made repeated, unfounded complaints against LEOs, the DAs & SA, HHJS, the jail, the science and everyone who has ever said boo about ICA - honestly IMO asking for someone to watch over the shoulders of others, is nothing more than saying "We can't trust them!"

Yet as the truth continues to come out, we find questionable behavior by almost everyone brought into this defense team - the irony continues. MOO...

As far as Mort is concerned, let's not forget his work in getting those statements from Roy Kronk's ex-wives, etc. I would love to see Jill Kerley's deposition and that of Kronk's son.

Every sliver of work done by ANY PI working for the defense is now tainted, IMHO. The fact that there are 3, and they all have produced some very "unusual testimony" points directly at the defense team.

Don't believe that Mortimer Smith interviewed Roy's exes or his son first. After relistening to Kerley's video interview in the beginning Mortimer states that Jerry Lyons is there with him. Mortimer Smith further states right after that the Jerry Lyons spoke to her earlier in an interview. So this tells me that Lyons is the actual investigator that talked to them first and supposedly dug up all this stuff up against Kronk. jmo

Yes, that's who I was thinking of...thanks. Didn't realize he was on AL's team..I guess he's gone then too. It boggles my mind that defense attorneys need PIs for their cases. I never knew that before. Seems like you would just be able to formulate a defense based on what your defendant tells you....

On Oct 20 the following article says that investigators were looking into the complaints by the two TES volunteers about Jeremy Lyons tampering with witnesses. It also states that investigators were looking into LB's potential altering documents. Has there been any updates to this article about the TES volunteers complaint? I couldn't find anything.

Has LB been deposed since her cancellation last week? I couldn't find an update on that either.

I do not know enough about the legal process for tossing an atty for conduct, but if there is any collusion here, couldn't JB and CM be tossed by HHP? I'm not sure of LB has been rescheduled or not.

Regarding the TES searchers, we don't actually know if the P.I. is being investigated. (I hope he is.) The two searchers told 1) WFTV, 2) Cheney Mason and 3) the sheriff's office their opinions that the P.I. was trying to get them to change their stories.

We don't know if it will lead to an investigation or not. Another thing that bothers me is that not one other local station carried the story besides WFTV.

I wonder why they do not feel it's important enough to cover?
