2010.11.29 Hearing: RE: Defense Won't Have Hair Expert @ Trial

  • #41
Lets look at what the State's expert is saying about the hair, showing root banding. Their expert is saying this hair found in her car trunk exhibits charcteristics (proximal banding) consistent with decomposition. He/she is careful not to state as a categorical fact that this single hair came from a dead person. It's likely this Petraco guy couldn't argue with that statement.

:twocents:What helps the State considerably, is that in asserting a decomposing body was in that trunk, they are not offering the hair banding evidence in isolation. They will present additional testimony from the cadaver dog handlers, witness statements about the powerful smell, the entomologist's report (damning imo) and if allowed the air sample test results.

Add in her own statements about a smell in her car caused either by squirrels or George hitting something............:waitasec: stick the fork in already.

And Cindy's 911 call - "it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car!"

Bumping this up because apparently the defense is up a creek with this motion by the prosecution:

Prosecutors want hair from Casey Anthony’s trunk admitted as evidence at trial

http://www.cfnews13.com/article/new...y’s-trunk-admitted-as-evidence-at-trial

So if the defense doesn't have a hair expert, how they are going to refute this if it's left in? And I really hope the SA, to prove their point, brings in Casey's statement about Casey being alive. I hope we get a hearing on this!

Beats me. I think that Baez thinks that it's going to be up to the State to prove that the evidence can come in. And, that Baez isn't planning on proving anything. He has no expert that can testify on this, at least not any that have referenced this hair in their report.

And reading the State's Response, it becomes clear why the defense said their expert Dr. Petraco would not testify at trial. The State uses Dr. Petraco's work to back up their claims that this evidence should be allowed in.

Oh, this is just so funny! Appears that JA is using published works from Dr. Petraco to prove up that the hair evidence not be excluded from the trial.

Somehow..I get the impression Henry Lee's testimony is going to be very limited..and apparantly he is not responding to the Prosecutions attempts to contact...Its only common sense..You dont respond to things you want to avoid answering..LOL..Poor HL..he has had such a fall from grace....His integrity has been called into question..thus his standing is Nadda..Wadda..I for one dont care about his views any more..He proved to be a bought and paid for witness...Yikes!!

I read somewhere how he billed for $8,000.00 tho defense said they paid him with oranges..LOL..Really in truly..I would love to see his Invoice!!

I posted this earlier on another thread. Just for chuckles!!

"It's not a one-shot deal. Dr. Lee is contracted for the life of the case," Black said. ( or until the money runs out) < BBM, My words.

Didn't they even read any of this man's findings before claiming him as their expert? Or did they just pick a name out of the telephone book to offer up at the status hearing? Someone most definitely didn't do their homework.

They actually sent the evidence to Petraco for testing!
He reviewed the evidence in July 2010, and was sent FBI samples Q12 and
Q12.1 hair in trunk - to examine in October 2010

Then, never officially put him on the Defense Witness List

So, Jose ~ what's your next move? Still got those dreams of being rich and famous?
Funny, how sometimes the truth keeps pushing through all the piles of BS and actually gets stronger from all the fertilizer.

I've always found this subject to be quite ironic because at one time LKB was one of the defense lawyers. Her husband (Michael Baden) stated on NG or Greta during the Madeline McCann case the black band on hair proves decomposition. That's why I have always believed this to be crucial evidence. Even though the Anthony's like to scream junk science about everything there was the time George yelled at the media stating that wasn't his granddaughter in the trunk or words to that effect. Didn't deny the dead body in the car just that it wasn't Caylee.

Now that I have picked myself up off the floor and dried my eyes and my screen, is the field of experts really that narrow or is this just a silly - well hilarious - coincidence?
