2011.02.07 Pete Kampfer called Shawn a POI

My question on this is now answered. In Billie's radio interview, she said:

That's because of investigators naming him a suspect

I have no doubts whatsoever, that LE told Billie he's a suspect, because if he was only a POI, she'd be screaming it from the rooftops, not calling him a suspect.

The fact that she's been told directly by investigators and still stands by him tells me everything I need to know about BD. She's not hearing through the media that he's a suspect, she's not hearing through rumors around town that he's a suspect, she's not hearing through PK......she's heard DIRECTLY from investigators that he is a suspect in her daughters's disappearance. Yet, she still stands by him, she's still in love with him and "friendly". They still talk on the phone......yeah that tells me EVERYTHING I need to know about BD and how much she REALLY cares for her daughter.

Mind games. Everyone is playing them. LE ,SA,BD,CD I am not sure NS is playing. The media is a pawn to all of them. I just hope when all this is solved the prize is Hailey coming home in a pair of new kicks.

So if Hailey was taken by a MM. She would have needed to hit up a store for shoes almost instantly. Has anyone faxed flyers to shoes stores? The thought just hit me. Thats why this post apears staged or random I cant tell which.

I am going to continue to breathe in my paper bag now.

I've wondered about that too. CD is not out of my "field of suspicions" yet. It makes me uneasy because he heads down to the Odessa area and the MX border. Now is talking about a slight chance she may be in Canada. If this was a custody battle and HD was taken somewhere to go into hiding....I pray it's Canada and not Mexico.

On another note and with abduction....there is the possiblity of her being abducted and taken to MX for the sex trade. Young blondes are in high demand, by all the accounts I have read. Not to mention what is going on in that area of crime in our own backyards. :(

Bolded by me.

I've thought a lot about this also. Recently i've watched a new program kidapped and rescued. A 17 year old girl with blond hair blue eyes went to a party and was kidnapped. It was 3 years before she was found, hooked on drugs and in really bad shape physically and mentally. It made me think about this case as i watched it. The FBI was involved from the beginning, i'm thinking they found no evidence what so ever on sex trade kidnapping, and consider this more close to home local investigation...JMHO

Based on an email I received from Pete Kampfer, it appears Shawn is a POI, rather than a suspect.

My email to Kampfer, and his reply, both in full, are on my website:

Interesting article from the American Journalism Review citing sources from the National Association of Chiefs of Police:

http://www.ajr.org/Article.asp?id=4042

Many law enforcement officials now use the vague term “person of interest” to describe people caught up in their investigations. That poses a challenge for journalists, who must try to convey a situation accurately without unfairly tarring someone’s reputation.

Jim Kouri, a spokesman for the National Association of Chiefs of Police, says "person of interest" often is a euphemism for "suspect."

"If it's a suspect and you say 'person of interest,' you're using the euphemism to avoid problems down the line," says Kouri, a former New York housing police officer. What problems? Police sometimes "try to maintain that the person really isn't a suspect" in order to get him to agree to questioning without Miranda warnings, Kouri says. "You don't want the guy to lawyer up."

Kouri says across the country, "it's the legal counsel telling police chiefs that they should instruct their officers and train them to use that term."

One thing I notice PK did not do in his response to you....he most certainly did not clear BD. Even though you specifically ask if she was cleared.

Think I'm just going to put the Dunn's on ignore and let them say whatever they want. Sometimes adults need adult supervision.

SA can't be cleared until he comes clean with searches and spends weekdays camped out waiting for the next days questions, without a lawyer. He needs to clear himself because a Dunn clearance ain't gonna happen.

You're saying he needs to give up his constitutional right to have an attorney present during questioning just to be cleared?
Guilty or innocent, someone named a suspect in a kidnapping/murder should always have their attorney present when dealing with LE. Just because you're a suspect, doesn't mean all of your rights go out the window.

With CD and BD together and out of town this weekend.........
( is this a plan to get some eople out of town?)
will SA snap with jealousy?
will SA go back to X galpal?
will SA go back to mom/grandma?
will SA do something to be remembered for long time?

WHY is LE beefing up security at schools and certain parks?
Did LE find certain info in landfill?
did LE find SA mail? journals? in landfill?
Is there a club?

Why was SA never arrested for the batclub incident?
No drinking/drugs influence or on him?
BD/SA no records???
My mind is going ...........pray for me, I cannot figure it out.

"continuing to work the Hailey Dunn case predominately as a criminal investigation"..........

The thought of "how many criminals" in this case is just mind boggling.

Nope they don't go out the window. Depends if they want to be cleared or not. I'm not the one speaking on TV about how innocent I am and how I loved Hailey.

I truly believe Kampfer jumped the gun on LE by calling SA a "suspect" so early in the case. Now LE has to live with it. In doing so, SA lawyered up, which yes, is his right.

I would imagine LE is wishing they could have had a few more interviews with SA sans legal counsel.

I would not waive my rights because I wanted the public to know I was innocent. I would have to protect my rights. I would be super paranoid after they call me a suspect and a poi because I was innocent. It would make me think all kinds of political conspiracies. (like on jaws when the mayor wouldnt admit there was a shark)

Guess what people would be thinking if you didn't? scenario of course.

That would give MK a serious case of diarrhea, I'm sure.

Well, with the information released last night, we now know WHY SA was called a POI. Dear Lord...
