EXACTLY. Why complain about the video offending her if it was not even MEANT for her?

According to the article she and CD were leaving when they were stopped by someone who told them she had worked so hard putting the video together. And I don't believe BD or CD are the ones who broke the 'story' to the press. It was the group that said they were not going to search anymore because they were not appreciated.

But the dinner was not supposed to be about Hailey. It was supposed to be about the searchers. It was an APPRECIATION DINNER, aimed at the volunteers themselves.
Billie crashed the event. She was not invited because it was not about her or her family. It was designed to THANK the volunteers. So Billie and her group walk out, on a video that was not even planned for them to watch,and get all righteous because the video 'was all about the searchers'. YES IT WAS about the searchers because it was a PRIVATE Appreciation Dinner, which Billie and her entourage CRASHED.

And why shouldnt the group be drinking at the dinner? WTH?

I totally get where you are coming and agree to an extent but her daughter is missing here. I would be livid though if some search group looking for my missing daughter had an appreciation dinner about themselves. I mean I just do not get the point of it. I get they are searching for Hailey and I think it is wonderful but it is about her not them. I would be annoyed. It just screams attention to me.

Maybe Billie was going to see what exactly it was about. I would do the same thing like I said if some search group looking for my daughter was having a dinner that was all about them. It is about HAILEY!

I don't see any mention in this listing of the Hall in Snyder being classified as a "bar".

If it was a "bar" I seriously doubt children would have been allowed entrance.

Do we know if this was a private dinner or were all the search groups invited? How would they have had enough food & seating prepared if they didn't have some idea who would be there? And BD & CD just showed up?
I'm very confused about what went on that night.

It was an APPRECIATION Dinner FOR the SEARCHERS. It was not about Billie, and not even primarily about Hailey. IT was about THANKING the volunteers.

So billie complains that watching the video brought up negative emotions. IT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR BILLIE TO WATCH.

I understood that it might have been innapropriate when I first heard the story. BUT NOW THAT I KNOW BILLIE CRASHED THE EVENT, I fully support the video. It was meant for the volunteers to see, not Billie.

I've been to many meeting @ my local American Legion Hall - for several different causes from political to community zoning issues to personal enrichment workshops - and I've never heard them referred to as "bars". In fact, an AA chapter meets @ my local Hall.

When I was HD's age, the local AL would sponsor teen dances. They were held in the dining hall and nowhere near the bar. If something came up where the hall would have to be used for something else, they would gather all their gear and provide a "sock-hop" at the local park pavillion--weather permitting.

I'm gonna give the searchers a little slack for having a private appreciation dinner. Maybe they felt the need to unwind amongst themselves for just a little while. I can't say that I blame them. I couldn't go out there every day for 8 weeks not knowing what I may find without getting a little stressed out. heck, I would have had to have had a drink way before 8 weeks.

The SUPERVISOR of the group, whose job it is to get more volunteers and to motivate them, threw the dinner FOR THE OTHER VOLUNTEERS.

That is how it is usually done.

And since when was H going to play basketball. That is not what she told Shawn, the last one to speak to her. Why would she lie to him about going to play basketball?

When did she tell her " not to leave the house that day"? I thought she only saw a sleeping Hailey that morning before she went to work, she has never said she talk to Hailey that day. If she "did' talk to Hailey that day and she came home and found out she left without permission why the heck didn't she try to find her then???? and the last sentence about Shawn, oh my blood pressure is high right now !!!! Well they were sure upset when BD and CD decided to leave. And if it was a closed event they should not have been allowed in. Everyone knows who they are.

You are right. They threw it for themselves. I see where you're coming from, but these were the volunteers. Now if it was the professional searchers, I would probably be thinking like you.
