"Young said Billie wasn't ready for all the media attention that only intensified after she lied to police about where her boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, actually was."

I don't think so. IMO, the media attention first began to intensify (for Billie) after viewers observed Billie's several appearances on the NG Show. Attention further intensified when Billie called her own sort of press conference-the one in which Billie presented her own time line. The discovery of CP was the icing on the cake for further media attention towards Billie.

By the time Billie lied to LE about SA being in her home...not really a surprise to many observers.

(SNIPPED)

MIDLAND - The lawyer for Billie Dunn is speaking out. He's only been on the job for a few days, but he has plenty to say about the situation facing the mother of missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.

Dunn has hired an attorney out of Sweetwater named John Young and he tells NewsWest 9 he is now representing Billie in all aspects of the three criminal charges against her. You'll remember after her arrest last week, Dunn was charged with hindering apprehension, apprehension, possession of a dangerous drug and lying to police.

Young is also representing Dunn in anything that's related to the search for Hailey and it's a move he wishes she would've done a long time ago.

"I think she (Billie) is a decent and good young wonma who is desperately hoping to find her daughter alive," Young said.

I've moved posts here that were in a new thread. Just one lawyer thread for now. As time goes on we can close this one and open another. But the discussion had already begun here. :)

AND

"They were seen together in Snyder," Young said. "Well both of them have family in Snyder. They may have been in Snyder at the same time that doesn't necessarily follow that they were together."

"It is a logically false premise that because you love someone and he's a suspect you therefore are guilty,
" Young said.

I'm thinking that Mr. Young needs to go back to school for a better education. "They were seen together in Snyder." Key word here is together. Then he goes on to say, "They may have been in Snyder at the same time that doesn't necessarily follow that they were together." Well Mr. Young, according to your own statement they were seen together, so yes, it does follow that they were in fact together.

Gotta love those spin doctors. I just wish that some of them would think before they open their mouth.

Anything I can contemplate where these two are complicit is too horrific for me to think about. So much so, that the only hope I have left points to some sort of accident. If so, I hope that someone or something gives BD the strength to face the truth and tell it like it is.

This case is driving me nuts and I hope that somthing happens soon - the stalemate so far has been unbearable.

The lawyer is getting his info from Billie...and she is likely telling him that those police are after her and they made it all up about them being "seen together". Wasn't there a call made to LE from the house where SA and Billie both appeared? That is not exactly just happening to be in the same town...

A call made by someone who wasn't there when the cops responded IIRC. That sort of damages the credibility somewhat.

Toombs also said he had received information that Dunn and Adkins were seen together in Snyder on Saturday, a day after she filed the trespass warning against him.

"I'm not going to elaborate on who gave us that information," Toombs said. "But it is from what I would consider a reliable source."

We don't know what source Toombs got the information from. It may be totally independent from the one in the police blotter.

Within minutes of Law Enforcement being at both homes last Thursday night, long before MSM was called to go check it out, locals were on the story and reported about what was happening. IMO there is no way that Billie and Shawn can go anywhere in those surrounding communities and not be seen by locals or police who have had them under surveillance.

Dunn's attorney said the charge of possessing a dangerous drug is being looked into. Young said that drug was actually a muscle relaxer and Dunn does have a prescription for it, but right now he is working to confirm the history of that prescription.

:waitasec: How difficult is that to do? I don't know of a pharmacy that doesn't keep computerized records these days. Even a small pharmacy will give you a printout if you walk in and ask for one.

Makes me wonder if she bought them from one of those online pharmacies. But that's impossible because she doesn't have a computer. :winko:

:idea:Wait a sec...SA has access to a computer. Lots of 'em. You don't suppose he was ordering them for her, do you?

At any rate, it shouldn't take more than two days to get verification for a legitimate prescription. Either you get a printout from your pharmacy, or ask the prescribing physician for verification. Attorney faxes a request to the doctor, and doctor's office faxes a reply. It doesn't require a lot of "work".

When I worked for CVS we wouldnt give them out for 24 hours after the request and ID'S because of hippa laws. We could only give them out to the person who the "profile" belonged to.

The profile shows all the prescriptions you have had filled at that location and sometimes other locations depending on the age of the system.

Her lawyer would have to file subpoena for the information from the pharmacy and he would have to provided the evidence (profile)in a way it could be submitted for court. Not just any kind of copy will do all the time. FWIW. He also may have to get information from the PMP (if they have that in TX) and her health care providers , docs give out medication all the time. it wouldnt be a simple as Billie grabbing the print out from CVS herself. She could but it would not be as effective IMO . Next would be seeing what showed up under her insurance. Billie more then likey has a long lined pill path to follow.

LOL. A slip of the tongue. A slip of the tongue. Personally, I want someone like Ms. Billie Jean Dunn to have the best defense attorney available to her if and when she is charged with offenses related to H's disappearance. I think Young is more than capable of managing her defense if she is complicit in H's disappearance. I want BJD engaged in a fair and square battle against the prosecution if such charges ever were to come to fruition.

Oh how the stories keep changing. BD was asked, and I believe it was in her first BTH interview, if she had a lawyer and why not, or something like that. She said she didn't feel she needed one because she didn't do anything wrong or she wasn't involved. Fasten your seatbelts people because I'm sure we're going to hear all sorts of new answers to previous questions BD answered, but this time her lawyer will put a new spin/answer to them.

Yes, an experienced defense attorney who can spin is a necessity for an individual, who in my opinion, is an experienced liar and manipulator.
