Somehow I think, perhaps idiotically, that after the jury hears KC at Universal, the call home (gimmie Tony's number!!), 31 days, tattoo, clubbing: that's all it will take to get a conviction. Nothing else is going to matter because there's simply no rational, reasonable explanation for KC's behaviour if she were innocent, imo.

And, I think that ALL of those things will be brought up in the opening statements, and it will convince the jury of her guilt.

It's just to bad that they will then have to sit there for another 8 weeks....

Exactly! The prolonged follow-on testimony will serve only to cloud and confuse ... not that it is raising reasonable doubt but information overload. The trial could be short and sweet but likely it will get drawn out and the more it gets drawn out the more it will enable the Defense to seek a technicality or reasonable doubt via TMI ... too much information.

Darn, I guess JB didn't thwart himself after all. I wonder why YM has to be there tomorrow? I thought these were hearings on scientific evidence? Or do they have to have people say there was definitely a smell there too? I'm confused.

IMVH personal O...I think Baez is trying to stick it to YM...just like he tried to stick it to KB. There very well may be a reason for Yuri to be there...could be Baez hopes his clarification motion will be addressed...but I think his office could care two licks how much time this takes up for this man.

JB has required him to be present for 2-3 days of hearings, and will not agree to let him be on call. He of course has other cases he's working on, so this is an inconvenience, but JB is being an azz as usual.

ITA! Apparently, the SA's office had some phone conversations prior to this last minute motion filed by the defense...they were explaining that YM could be on standby but the Defense just wants to be difficult!

Is this why the hearing has been cancelled? For to tomorrow? These and other last minute motions? Will they be meeting in private? In Judge's chambers? WTH?

They can't have a trial by ambush?????

:twocents: Yuri Mellich apparently was the one that suggested having the air from the trunk tested. Was likely his decision to bring the dogs in. Then there will likely be chain of custody issues re the car and trash bag after they were removed from the Anthony home and the tow yard respectively. He's lead detective. Someone had to direct/coordinate how the evidence e.g. car, trash was to be processed by CSI's Vincent and Bloise. Mellich also is likely to testify that, in his professional opinion, the smell from the trunk was decomposition.

That said, there's no way a busy policeman should not be afforded approximate times he is required to testify. Baez has no regard for the Florida taxpayers and I suspect he enjoys sticking it to Mellich and Allen any chance he gets. He really is that childish and petty imo.

I just got an update from WFTV's Twitter account via Direct Message so I can't quote it but they said a hearing on single motion that was set for 8:30AM was what was cancelled. The other hearings will go on as planned.

The overwhelming blind desire for JB (like CA and ICA) to exact revenge at any cost will be his undoing.

It reminds me of the Back to the Future movie where Marty McFly could not resist provocation when called 'chicken' and it destroyed his future ... but he got a chance to go back and correct it.

JB cannot go Back to the Future and he needs to quit the schoolyard revenge tactics that got ICA to where she is and ... grow up! IMO

This is what the 8:30AM hearing was going to be about....the emergency motion to have YM stand around. My bet is they worked something out and YM is on stand by....so the 8:30AM start is no longer needed.

I too agree that if the State opens with the 31 days, tattoo, Universal, Nanny nonsense, and the pile of lies, the jury will have it in their minds right away that she's guilty. But, I think the due process is about hearing ALL the evidence before forming an opinion, or at least the potential jurors will be questioned if they are capable of doing that. I do hope that the jurors can sit and listen and weigh evidence and argument after argument and make the same conclusion we've all come to since... well, day one, I guess.

As I understand this (I could be wrong), YM was to be on standby at the courthouse until such time he was called to testify, however the protective order that was filed was not needed to continue further, my guess is that Yuri is going on first (to circumvent this whole thing) and then they may reserve the right to call him back - if needed; OR the defense agreed to have a 2 hour window for him to be called.
