I love LDB objecting that JB's "have you ever smelled garbage that has been in a car three weeks" is irrelevant. JB should know there was no actual garbage in that car. The Mythic Pizza thing is way too old.

ICA probably keeps scribbling it on her legal paper and insists he brings up - in that case not much he can do but ask the question.

Gerus - specialty cadaver but is full service (search buildings, bite/apprehend, etc) Had him from 2004 - 2010 - training more extensive than Bones' in addition to 400 hours of basic canine school; cadaver school Nov, 2005 (Redmond); Adv training as well (didn't catch dates (same list as Bones but incl burn tissue and mummified)
current dog is Griffin doesn't do cadaver but is full service
Bones is cadaver - Fogery got him after Twin Towers and certified in cadaver in 2003 trained in fresh and old blood, all type of decomp, wet and dry bone, body fluids, adopicere, not urine/semen/fecal material/burn tissue, exposed to ground search, elevated search, utilized distractors during real finds - Did quantitities vary (yes); did you train on different containers (yes); did you train on different lengths (time out) - yes; trained on and off lead; 160 hours basic course in 2003

This is what I got - subject to error - lol
OCSO has breeding program for these dogs that are trained.

Hmmm... I wonder why "burned" tissue is mentioned quite a bit. :waitasec:

Baez caught looking at the camera.

Gerus not trained on semen, fecal material, urine.

Did you expose him to different environments? Trained osn distractors such as animal bone? Did you vary different containers? Trained to independently search on and off lead depending on your needs?

(all answers yes)

LDB: asking about his training.

Animal bone, the quantity of odor, length of time, on leash off of leash.

The dog undergo monthly training. Supervised training four times a year. Certified once a year for the full service dogs. The full service dogs have state certification. Gerus has state certification.

Gerus is State Certified! I cannot say that about myself...

I was just wondering the same thing. Seems to come up quite a bit. Maybe just part of a training certificate? :waitasec:

Full service dogs have state certification - and get it once a year and cadaver woek is indep - no state certif available.

Fogery (sp?) - 2975 canine calls - 463 area searches, 853 trackin calls, 308 apprehensions, 300+ cadaver searches, training - 499 tracks, 305 apprehensions, 498 cadaver (aggregate with all dogs) 20,800 hours canine hours (I missed some of the training hours)

numbers in the hundreds of searches performed by this officer. his hours are 20 thousand 800 for training.

20,800 hours of training

20,800 Training hours wow that's alot

  • #836
Wow - LDB is reviewing this handler's credentials - he has had over 20,000 training hours!

Possibly for searching burned structures to see if there was anyone in them?

  • #838
Q: what are you defining as residual odor
A: a training aid - never contaiminated anything except the air and then i moved it

  • #839
Hmmm. HHJP is paying razorsharp attention to the dogs full training and certification record as LDB presents it.

So, the defense once again squanders any shot at having this evidence deemed unscientific with their continued arrogance and ignorance. Just like yesterday.
