I have not hear the pc but, whether this info coming from PK or someone else in LE, I believe the message that HD is deceased is what he was trying to get across to everyone. As if to say, "the gig is up, we know she is not coming back alive, (we have pretty strong evidence) that show us this, and so whoever is responsible, better step up before it becomes a murder trial". I want to think that this is their tactic in getting the answer to where HD is and letting those responsible know that they better get talking to their lawyer to work on a plea bargain before a murder trial arises. JMO. As to why he didn't want BD and CD there is strange.

And I'm with you DGC on your post about this family and all the illegal dealings. LE must really be shaking their heads and asking WTH. I'm sure this is not the first time they have come across this sort of nonsense but it must get sickening, maddening when this type crap is played out in so many families. Pity the poor children. They are the ones to suffer at the ignorance and stupidity of parents who do not deserve them. Again JMO

IIRC, when LE felt Haleigh Cummings was deceased they had the immediate family all together to recieve the info, but not Misty.

So why wasn't it the same here? Because BD is a POI???

We tried talking to Billie Dunn, Hailey's mother, but she would not talk on camera because her lawyer has told her not to. She did tell NewsWest9 that she was not notified of any new developments and she doesn't believe her daughter is dead.

He needs to get away from BD if he wants any info. I for one am glad they are not sharing what they have with him at this point. He might tell BD and the case could be messed up. It is very clear that LE is looking at SA and BD, and it's also very clear that CD is still standing up for BD.......what else can LE do ?

Kampfer's statement about getting on with his life as city manager reminds me of Tony Hayward's (former BP executive during the oil spill) who remarked “we're sorry for the massive disruption it's caused their lives. There's no one who wants this over more than I do. I'd like my life back."

WoW Adri! Boy do great minds think alike.lol.. When I read this wording earlier that came out of Kampfer's mouth I immediately had visionns of Tony Hayward aboard a boat saying he'd "really like to get on with his life".. God the gall some of these spokesman have.. Truly amazing how they became the "spokesperson" for their town/co. that they own..

My heart aches for Clint. But this was a news conference and it was not for the family. Depending on who was present it is not in the interests of the Administration of Colorado City with the Police Chief sitting there to be in a news conference with the family shooting questions at him.

Now I don't know for sure who was there. But if BD was, she is a POI and there is no way she belonged at that news conference. She is represented by Counsel. I can't tell from anything I have read yet whether she was or not. They are on a different sides of the law at the present time . LE has a job to do whether it be local, county or Federal. To have the family attempt to address the City Manager in this setting is out of line. Pete Kampher stated that he refused to be present at Billie Dunn's presser because there are things they don't agree upon regarding the investigation. So it wouldn't be a good thing to be at that presser. This was no different.

Clint doesn't have a lawyer. He can call LE and Pete Kampher at anytime for an update. Billie they will no longer talk to because she has Counsel. Pete Kampher made IMO the only choice he could given the situation, by not letting them in. He didn't even know in the beginning who it was that was there.

It could have seriously jeopardized the investigation on many levels had there been a confrontation in that news conference today. Depending on who ultimately gets charged.

This family needs to learn boundaries. The only thing they have in common right now with the Govt., is everyone wants Hailey found. There is an active criminal investigation ongoing!

Clint has defended BD and even SA, the POI and the Suspect too many times. This could have been very dangerous and in fact totally damaged any chance of justice for Hailey.

The thing that I do not understand is if it was news conference and the info was going to be in the media anyway why Clint and Family were not allowed in there to here. I have asked that you stop bashing Pete Kampher. I believe while it wasn't stated properly Pete Kampher does want to find a resolution to this case, so that the family the City and yes even himself can have closure. This is a very difficult time for the residents being in the midst of this criminal investigation as well as for family members who want answers.

Now while he did not say it exactly as I would have voiced it, move on. We are not going to disrupt topic threads like this. I have zero tolerance for this to continue which is why the presser thread closed.

We have had little news for 2 weeks. Talk about the case and not your dislike for Pete Kampher.

I'm going to say this one last time.

Pete Kampher made that clear. He felt they were there to disrupt the news conference. They had no business there. If Clint is not getting information he needs to go to his Victims Advocate. He has stated one was assigned to him.

I could see where it would be weird to have a POI show up there. In that respect I can understand why PK wouldt allow that family member who was a possible POI into the press room.

Wow though.

I guess if you follow how crimes are profiled and the guilty partys often like to follow the news it could make sence why that person/people werent let in.

I don't think there is any real info for Clint to have. I think this PC was called for different purposes, as others have suggested, just to apply pressure to suspect(s). And Clint needs to take Hailey's side and her side alone.

OK let's just put this out there as a "What If". What if one of the people in that group today were to go into that room and start asking questions. Or making statements. Now what if, there is a POI who hasn't been named yet. Maybe not the person who harmed Hailey but, someone who has more information than they have shared with LE.

Now What If, that POI ultimately is charged with obstruction or some other lessor crime. Has anyone here been watching the Caylee case where Atty Baez is trying to say that LE allowed George Anthony to act as an agent for the State?

Do you see where I'm going? We don't know. We just do not know. Maybe LE hasn't got it all figured out and still have their eyes on other people, or are watching other people that have inserted themselves into this case not quite eliminating them yet. They aren't sure yet about these people?

If Hailey is deceased I want justice for Hailey. And as much as we can blame Pete for being unfeeling or not thinking correctly at this time, I think he got it right. If he is not sure where the investigation truly is, it would have been a horrible mistake IMO to let anyone but credentialed press into that room.

However news that Hailey had been declared-instead of believed-to be deceased quickly spread to several of Hailey's family members in town.

"I've been balling all morning, my husband made me get off the internet, we came (to City Hall) because they said all this junk then they wouldn't even let us into the press conference," said one of Hailey's relatives, Malinda Salazar.

The whole thing is, was it a "public" pc? It was probably intended for reporters to spread the word and that's it. Not for the general public to ask questions and such. PK probably had this notes to refer to and was not able to give out any further information.

Now should HD been discovered, it will probably be open to the public.

Clint needs to retain an attorney to assist him in getting a divorce, IMO.

Why he doesn't do that just baffles the heck out of me. I may not have the popularity vote here, but I don't care if he smokes the doob, or that he refuses to bash BJD. What I see is dignity and caring for everyone involved. IMHO his focus is on finding Hailey, and he could give a rats patooty what anyone else is doing.

There are so many things I think he should be doing (divorce, throttle BJD), but I don't have a missing child (thank God). And I bet the poor man really does think Hailey is going to walk through that door. He won't accept anything less.

:floorlaugh: @ the bolded above Mel. I say rat's azz all the time and my kids ask "where the heck did you come up with something like that?" I wasn't sure if it was something I made up or if it was an actual saying. Know I can show them it exsists and Mel uses it too.

I can only imagine what CD is feeling right now, given this PC. He probably won't lawyer up due to expenses. Lawyers don't come cheap as we all know and he probably feels there is nothing at this point a lawyer can do for him. I wonder if he has received any free legal advice? Would he be entitled beyond one free consultation?
