I so wish that one of the jurors, when asked about the 6-8 weeks, would ask the judge, "you mean like 31 days?".......LOL

So we're at 1 African American 2 Asian and now 4 Hispanic in this group of jurors. That I could tell from sound only. I'm just keeping track because JB made such a big deal about it.

Ummm... I thought if you were on probation you couldn't serve on a jury? I guess if it wasn't for a felony that would be the difference. I'm talking about the guy up now.

He was referring to job probation as it is a new job.

From Pinellas County: "Can my employer prevent me from serving as a juror or can I be terminated from my job for having jury service?
No. Florida law prohibits any employer from preventing a person from serving as a juror or firing an employee who is serving on jury duty."

I think he said he's in the probationary period at work, not on probation for a crime. It was in response to a question about whether he'd be paid and he didn't know.

OMG! "A mother caring for her child is different."

DT won't want her!!!!

Love the talking about motherly love.

You hear that KC?....a mom of a 5 year old that works AND goes to school.

OMG....this woman just said there is a difference between a mother taking care of her kid and dad.

The SA should nab her ASAP!

I'm beginning to think that Florida should have held auditions like American Idol, LOL, that way they would only get jurors who actually would and could be on the jury..................I was kidding but it's beginning to make sense.:floorlaugh:

But they don't have to pay the employee who is serving, and I'm sure a lot of people can't afford to go 6-8 weeks without pay.

I think the probation is job-related not crime-related. From past experience, you are on "probation" for a period of time before you are 100% hired. Usually the probation period is three months before you are hired..

OMG - a MOTHER caring for a 5 yo. is different. Anyone get a screenshot of ICA when she said that?

  • #1,515
ICA trying to hold it together as young woman talks about caring for a 5-year old girl. Oopsy.

OMG married mother of a 5 year old saying a mother taking of her child is different from a father and KC nodding her head yes in agreement. She is a good juror!

  • #1,518
She needs to pay for a babysitter for her DOG! Too bad ICA couldn't even have the decency to do that for her DAUGHTER.
Sorry...off to corner!

AND give it shots twice a day!

I feel her pain. I have to pay my petsitter $20.00 per day for 3 pets. No friends or neighbors that I could count on. That's over $1000.00 for 2 months!!!

This juror says his wife is deaf in one ear and has to wear an amplifier.

Hmmmmmm just like Cheney Mason.

And note that he could hear the questions unlike CM.

I love the look on Casey's face when this potential juror is talking about her child. And about her life and that she and her HUSBAND will be moving soon. She's everything Casey dreamed of being, except for the part about having a child ....
