I kind of agree with the DT. All jurors need to be questioned then stirke them. This way isn't working.

  • #464
That poor woman needs to go home for the day. Whatever opinion you might have on Casey's other atty, she does not need to be in court as ill as she is.

I agree. I don't know why CM couldn't take over for her,he knows how to do it and her questions are very similar each time!

  • #465
The next you know he will want ICA to take the stand and start asking her own questions ... ARRRRGGGGG

JB: Objects to current procedure being employed by the court.

Someone obviously wrote that objection for JB - he read the entire thing and looked ashamed (MOO). Wonder if it was written by one of the IS legal wonders.

Mr. Baez - although you can't see what lies ahead there is not point in trying to delay it - there is nothing you can do - it's coming anyhow.

  • #470
Wow jose is stalling big time - just h ad a jurer struck now they have to question another one - he just stopped the swearing in.

Will he do this all day?

Yes, until he runs out of strikes.

  • #471
Can someone explain to me what exactly Baez is talking about??? Casey not being able to see or hear the questioning of the jurors?

Of course he was denied but wth is he talking about?

He objected to swearing in the jury - he wanted to CONTINUE to question the POOL of jurers for better jurors. He doesn't want to stop at the number the judge is stopping at.

He was challenging the procedure of the judge reaching a certain number and then stopping the questioning of the other pool jurors.

When the judge denied him - he then used a strike and removed a juror and forced the judge to find another juror.

UNREAL> looks like he may continue to do this until his strikes are done. MO

Told ya. One at a time until he runs out of strikes.

It will eventually backfire on him I suspect.

Karma at work.

  • #473
HHJP was so ready for Baez to object... He's been waiting for it.

  • #474
It is only a little more than a week...I don't have a problem with jury selection taking longer in a captial case; we have seen some go on for months. The judge is very much in a hurry for a DP case, IMO.

I think it is abundantly clear now what JB is up to. He is going to continue this striking until he uses them all. Then he will renew the objection he just made, then he will ask to be granted more strikes until he runs out of jurors.

I was hopeful ( I know, I know!) that JB and Co would not do this because it makes it clear they are obstructing the process but obviously anything to stall is what he is all about.

I think HHJP was just about to lose his cool but reined it back in. He is a saint!

  • #476
Oh good grief. Is JB going to strike each person until he's out of strikes?

he has 3 left... he will have his miserable hand forced by the end of today and 12 will be sworn! you watch! moo

  • #477
How many strikes does he have left?

  • #478
Uh oh server is very S L O W

  • #479
why why why are they allowed to keep going back in to the ones we already have? They were ok with them 10 minutes ago.

Give Beaz credit for it?

  • #480
Just to double check - the SA can't use a strike on juror 1319 because they already challenged and it was denied. Correct?
