Martini anyone?

As soon as this juror said she was for the death penalty KC immediately drew several lines on her paper, probably through the juror's number. DT will rule this one out, for sure.

Does anyone want to take wagers on what decade this trial will take place?

Orange County is going to 'owe' us one. Big time. They can have Donte Morris, the guy who killed two of our police officers in January.

Judge Perry also asked KC if she was satisfied with her representation, iirc, and she said yes.

I wonder if ICA realizes that these jurors are watching her furious scribbling, her stone face, puckered lips and just her overall prissy 'tude'. ICA is studying them like they're on trial. Does it even occur to her that this is their first impression of her? Does she realize that these people she is furiously taking notes about are the same people who will eventually decide her fate. You'd think just one of her DT's would remind her of that little fact.

My prediction:
DT will strike
SA will object because of gender
HHJP will deny the states objection
Juror will be out, we will still be at 11 starting again tommorrow am, DT will only be left with 1 challenge...

Just a guess....

I believe we have 12. 11 carried over from yesterday and 1 other from this pm.

I would perhaps agree apart from one factor: her defense team. The job of the DT is not limited to the courtroom it also involves researching the case and the law and investigation. I feel if JB was competent and not a media hound ICA would be in a lot better position. I also feel that a lot more facts and evidence (perhaps favourable to ICA would come out). I always get the feeling that there is a massive jigsaw piece (or more!) missing since no theory (pointing to guilt or innocence) that I have heard or thought of so far makes perfect sense.

It goes without saying that a competent lawyer is essential for a fair trial.

There are a few other things that impinge upon a fair trial such as media coverage and funding issues. However, these don't seem to be having as much of an effect as the representation issue and certainly the media issue the judge seems to be doing his best to rectify with voir dire.

In Regard to your statement "I always get the feeling that there is a massive jigsaw piece (or more!) missing since no theory (pointing to guilt or innocence) that I have heard or thought of so far makes perfect sense. Do you mean that you don't see what her motive is?

At this point - and this may be selfish - but I DO NOT want to see a plea. Nope - no way. We've come this far - let's get it finished.

JB would be smart to speak to ICA and get her to accept one - but I'm really hoping LDB says "no way Jose" - we've come this far and done all this work to plead her out. And on what charge? Count 3 - manslaughter of a child? What is the max sentence for that? IIRC something like 15 years. NOPE.

Hold the course - yes it is tough - but this is finally time for Justice For Caylee. We have to remain strong - for CAYLEE!!!

I so agree with you on this, Wise Old Owl. I want ICA to have to sit there and listen to all of the witnesses and the evidence. She needs to go through the trial and face what she has done, IMO. Then I want to see them cuff her after the verdict and take her out of there. Then I want to see the same thing happen after she is sentenced.

MOO

Same place we were before: 11 jurors.

Really? Only time I heard this was at the guilty plea to cheque fraud.

No, it happened more than that. It happened at random times, after Judge Strickland ordered her in court for all hearings. He was making sure there was no room for appeals. It's on record.

IIRC Judge Strickland prefaced every hearing with that question so there could be NO doubt .
