The lady who went to work is up. CJBP is asking her why she went to work and didn't call if there was a problem. She is saying she wouldn't be paid.

CJBP not happy with her.

She was excused for hardship.

MG: it is my understanding that he could change his flight plans, it wasn't an issue he just hadn't done it yet.

MG: judge, we simply don't know yet. let's bring in that other juror and put him in back with the 11. as soon as he gets here, let me know.

PJ sounds like she was crying . . . went to work she didn't realize her employer wouldn't pay her.

HHBP asking questions about why she didn't say anything . . . asks who is her employer . . . she is not at her 90 days . . . financial hardship on her? PJ said YES!

I don't think the Judge is mad at the juror.

The Judge is not happy with the DT or State.

It is not looking hopeful to have 12 sworn in today, much less alternates.

Judge is unhappy with the lawyer shenanigans on both sides, especially since it is involving so many peoples lives.

HHJP: we have 12 jurors. we will bring them in to be sworn. does the defense have any backstrike?

JB: seat 22.

LDB: the state objects. she is a female. the strike is gender based.

JB: mr. baez you stipulate a female. it is my understanding a female is no longer a protected (?)

LDB: I have case law.

HHJP: let me see it.

LDB: I am unaware of this being overturned.

JB: yes I recognize she is a female. would the court like a gender neutral reason? this juror mentioned she has a juror who has a granddaughter who is two and she said she could not recommend the dp.

HHJP: does the state have a reply?
