:seeya: I've been away since 9:30 this am. Gad, I hate when RL gets in the way. Have I missed anything of significance? Anyone gone MIA? TIA

Just a potential new juror.

got the 12th juror rejected 1 and sat 2 alternates - then did a big panel of 30 on hardship and a yes/no on publicity and whether they had formed an opinion

I don't think ICA wants any females on the jury!

OT, she holds her pen very oddly. lol

That is what Judge Perry said Leila.

Question: At this point we've got 14 potential jurors. It appears that HHMP won't swear the jury in until tomorrow at 2:30pm.

If, by tomorrow afternoon there's a total of 16 or 17 potential jurors, will the FIRST 12 that were questioned be seated as the jury, and the remaining potential jurors (after strikes) will be the alternates?

In other words................is this done in chronological order?

What I'm wondering is if any of the potential jurors that go through voir dire today have an expectation of being on the jury of 12.

Yes Leila - you have it right and I doubt they know there are 12 already chosen.

AF still up, even though ONLY a "few" questions.

Only a potential juror. Number 4083, a member of the jury pool of 30, who were questioned, never made it to the courtroom. He's an attorney. HHMP wants him found and asked why he didn't show up.

Maybe the runaway juror wanted to hurry and do internet searches so he could say he had done research on the case.

Or maybe he's hiding in the restroom with his feet up and will have to sneak out after the courthouse closes.

I will be bombed by the end of AF's "does that make sense", "do you understand that"

We are already at 4...

AF explaining that DP means a sentence of death, lethal injection means an injection that kills you, and LWOP means you spend the rest of your life in jail.

Soooooo glad she cleared that up. /sarcasm

Re DP question

What's up with "alledged victim". That's crazy./

Alledged victim???????WTH

PJ: we have a policy (at work), we don't talk politics or religion...

  • #654
Now I like the rule that they have at Jury # 3093's workplace.

"Runaway Jury" is a fabulous film - should be required viewing this weekend :D

Starting ~3:07 the Judge talks to each jury by number re: media and opinions.

I think the way the jury pool of 30 was handled went much faster. They ended up getting 9 potential jurors out of it. Maybe this whole process would have gone faster if this procedure had been followed in the beginning.

If I were a PJ I think I would have to look at Judge Perry and say "I object! DT is treating me as if I am either a child or ignorant."

  • #658
PJ says deputy's have been very good at keeping them away from the media

  • #659
"The deputies have been very good at keeping us away (from the media)." :)

I've been knocking to get in. With 725 people in this room one of you could have opened the door. LOL

Just wait until you go to refresh and you find you've been kicked out! It feels like getting booted from the hot club!!! (Fusion for those of you in the know)
