we had 15 yesterday and already struck 5 today and retained 1.

3310 retained (#12)
Excused for cause: Seat 57, #3025 (Hardship)
Excused for cause: Seat 59, #3317 (Hardship)
Excused for cause: Seat 62, #3340 (Hardship)
Excused for cause: Seat 65, #3309 (Hardship)
Excused for cause: 3131 (ICA Guilty)

But before the first juror, the woman who said she could not put aside her thoughts... we had 12. Confirmed by Jeff Ashton and Judge Perry. This male potential juror was only the second person to be questioned, so I thought that leaves us at 10?

When the court goes quiet, I can still hear background noise. Does anyone know what that is? There's a lady talking.

I hear that "chatter" too, and assumed it was what is called crosstalk or induction. The line is picking up lots of signals from other lines.. other TV, radio, etc. I do hear the word "judge" a lot, and what seems to be snippets of call-in radio shows.

I think so, IIRC. He said he gave his tickets to his sister. JP said he would help him get good tickets again.

Right and the guy cracked me up wen he said to the judge.."i'm gonna hold you to that" LOL

Do you think as Nancy left the courtroom she muttered..."waste...huge waste"?

Yes, I think some of the hysterical talking heads are probably feeling a little sheepish today...

DT and state take turns on who questions/strikes first. It's determined by who is even and who is odd.

Why does HHJP always say that the juror number is an even or odd number?

Re: last juror

Do people really live this kind of placid personal life? He admitted that his sister has issues, but implies that he, personally, has no issues. Doubt it.

His family and the Anthony's are strangers in the way they relate to each other IMO!! Love but with accountability!!:innocent:

His family obviously recognized that his sister needed help and help that they could not give her... they did what the Anthony's should have done a long time ago with Casey!

I completely disagree. Maybe the sister got her life together and is doing well now.

During my time as a crime novelist, I've interviewed people like the sister, who did terrible things in the past but are living good, honest lives now and contribute positively to society.

If his sister was rehabilitated, then the family should be proud.

My opinions...

That is a very good point. I don't think rehabilitation is in the Anthony's vocabulary! People can change, just not Casey. Kudos on this PJ's sister for turning her life around. Casey could learn something from her, but probably won't.

And I'm still waiting for the other strike shoe to fall...12 jurors are too good to be true!

OH my Good morning .. I woke up late and then had to read all post ...

Does anyone know if there is a way to look up "Birth Announcements" like you can obits.

I wonder how Casey feels when at recess everyone gets up and goes on with life and she just sits there looking around for someone to babysit her.

ICA loves it. She pretends she is part of the defense staff and she doesn't look at the deputies because she doesn't want to acknowledge she is the defendant. Distresses me no end she is permitted to remain in the courtroom during these breaks. :banghead:

Thank You, I thought I was the only one there for a second....his Sister committed a crime, tied up her parents and robbed them.....the family is all lovy dovy now, they couldn't be MORE PROUD of Sis...

It scream THE ANTHONYS....to me

me too...im worried. could he think ica could be rehabilitated b/c his sister was? his sister wasnt a self serving sociopath, and dang sure didnt kill her child! big diff, but still it worries me...

I'm thinking they will get through these 9 today and at the end of the day we will have our 12 plus alternates.:great:

just look in the local paper...they generally run hand in hand with the obits...

I keep reading that JB can ask for more strikes. If HHBP denies, is that an appeal issue?
I asked upthread but I think it got lost ..

I believe it's on a case by case (or juror to juror) basis. DT or SA has to have a pretty good reason for cause (IMHO). Your Honour probably won't be passing them out like candy ;)

They will automatically get another one for the alternates from what I understand. This could turn out to be a very long day!
